Review of Peugeot 306 D Turbo

Dimplex convection heater with turbo fan

Advantages: Turbo Fan, secure wall mounting, switchable turbo fan
Disadvantages: Mechanical thermostat with turbo fan can be attention grabbing!

...One of the many heaters I tried was this Dimplex free standing/wall mounted convection heater with Fan Boost. I decided to try this after a returning my 4th failed Bionaire BCV3100 heater. The wall mounting arrangement was very affective in securely locking the heater to the wall using 3 simple hooks. The unit is very light weight. There are 2 switches on the side. A power On/Off switch and below that a Hi/Low switch. Below the switches there is a mechanical thermostat to further regulate the heater. On the front of the heater integrated into the turbo fan grill there is a switch to turn the turbo fan on or off. A nice feature is on a hot day you can run the turbo fan without any heat, this provides a cool draft from the heater although it is not as affective as a desktop fan though. 320d - Potentially expensive failure

Advantages: Preformance, Economy, choice of trim, extras
Disadvantages: reliability - Expensive turbo failure, Rear Seat Space, Boot Space

...This is my first BMW, and I am sorry to say my last. The 320d has a reputation for turbo failure, which I believe applies only to pre July 2003 models. This failure can happen at any time regardless of service history and so cannot be predicted or circumvented and is a widely publicised failure amongst 320d owners on the internet!. The cost of repairing this vary between £2000 - £3000 and is not something which I would expect from a name like BMW. Other drawbacks include driver comfort, which is virtually non existant, after 15 mins in the drivers seat you rapidly experience another feature of the 320D - namely BMW "Numb Bum", which I must admit was not publicised in the brochure. The driving position is also somewhat strange. Both rear seat and boot space are limited and certainly not inline with the size of vehicle, and all BMW...

Review of BMW 320d

Flymo Turbo 330. I bought this and I KNEW what I was buying!

Advantages: Compact, light, easy to store, grass box, quiet.
Disadvantages: None I have found

...at the description. Please excuse the brash tone, this is directed at those who complain about features they knew about before buying. It's a turbo compact hover mower, compact means it may well be smaller than the one you used to own so expect that. A 33cm metal blade to me indicates a 33cm wide cut. If I thought 33cm was too small, I'd opt for a larger model. A 30 litre grass box should be ample for a small to medium garden. My garden is quite large but the mower is a perfect compromise when it comes to the amount of grass it holds, too much it gets too heavy so 30 litre is a good size and even better for storing. 1500 watts power is enough power to get through slightly long grass. If your grass is too long, don't blame the mower if it can't cope, blame yourself. 12 metre cable, if your garden is longer, get an extension or a mower...

I was impressed with the dealer (Dick Lovett), as the sales guy was not at all pushy but allowed me to take my time looking over the car and responded well to questions I raised. The car that started the "diesel revolution?"

Advantages: Reliable, Quite Quick, Good On Fuel, Class Leading Design in its day

RS TURBO SHED!!!

Advantages: Quick Quick and Quicker
Disadvantages: Noisy noisy and Noisier still!!!

...When I was younger I always wanted to own a Ford Escort RS Turbo. When I was 25 I finally realised my dream and bought a clapped out G reg Black RS Turbo. What a shed and to think I sold my K Reg Fiesta RS 1800I to get it!!!It was quick but noisy, unreliable kept breaking down, etc. I bought a K & N air filter for it and it was exactly the same but noisier!!! No more performance!!!I sold it to some mug in the end for 3 grand which cheered me up no end. I now have a Nissan Primera which is comfy and large. Its a bit slow though!!!...

206 D Turbo HDI

Advantages: Loads of mid range grunt, looks fab

...I bought my car in March 2003 after waiting 6 weeks for it to be delievered, boy was the wait worth it. I ordered my car with leather interior, air con and sun roof, it looks smart, and it is the thinking man's GTI. So far I've completed 2000 miles in mine. I find the seats very comfortable and secure - they do hold you in when you are taking corners at speed. The main reason why I bought a 206 D Turbo was becasue of the fuel economy - I drive 90 miles everyday and I needed an econmical car after my 307 started a drink problem like Oliver Reed. I average about 45MPG when driving to and from work, strangley enough, fuel economey in city driving improves this figure to around 50MPG. The only giveaway that the car is a diesel is when it is idiling - not in terms of sheer noise, but the way the gear lever slightly vibrates, but once...
