My Escort RS Turbo
Review of Ford Escort RS Turbo by
mokeyat
Advantages: Rare, Tuneable, Desirable and Fast
Disadvantages: Addictive
..., but add them to the RS and you`re looking at about 200+ bhp.
As I`ve stated before, I`ve had this car for 9 years and the respectful looks you get from both old and young people are unmatched in anything else.
This is an enthusiast`s car for serious drivers. Treat them with respect and use decent oil and regular services and if you can ever bring yourself to sell it (I know mine`s not getting sold anytime soon!) it will at least give you what you paid for it, or more than likely more than what you paid.
There`s also one more thing that I`d like to add. It`s nice to go for a drive and not see another RS Turbo on the road. There are far too many Subaru`s around and because they`re so common they are falling into the wrong hands. More often than not they`re being driven by inexperienced drivers or being bought by boy racers who like to add...

Toyota 3.0i non turbo, 1986 7MGE engine.
Review of Toyota Supra 3.0 Turbo by
cashman44
Advantages: Performance, rear wheel drive, brakes, handling.
Disadvantages: Expensive parts, inner body panels not protected.
...I bought this car in 1996 , after being left a few bob by my lovely Gran ( god rest her soul ), this was another one of those "man things " I just had to have ! .
I'd always noticed these cars passing by in the opposite direction, and was always impressed by their almost female shape, ...... rounded at the front, slim in the middle , and the rear rounded as well !
In my opinion most Toyota's look great from the front , but they lost the plot on the arse end ! , not so with the supra.
Fit and feel.
*************
Getting into the car is a bit of an operation, especially if you're a fat bugger, ( unlike myself ), being so low , and the driving position, you physically have to bend yourself into the thing.
Once sat in it , first impressions are that everything fits around you nicely, all the controls, clocks, gearstick, pedels...

Peugeot 205 D Turbo K reg
Review of Peugeot 205 by
cosmicdance
Advantages: A very reliable, economical and long lasting engine
Disadvantages: Mine has worn out a couple of front wheel bearings
...I have had my 205 D Turbo for 2 1/2 years now and it has done 191,000 miles and still going very strong.
When I bought it the miles were 100,000 and my mate thought he would get rid of it as it was obviously worth less with high mileage. I change the oil at least every 4,000 miles which may seem a little excessive but has paid off and the engine is still very clean, reliable and economical. I would recommend doing this in any car that you are going to keep for a long time as it is a great way to protect the engine.
This model has a lot of power due to the turbo so overtaking and accelerating are much easier than with a standard 205 Diesel which aren't the slowest diesels by any means as I had one prior to this.
I drive quite steady doing about 50 miles a week in town commuting to work and around 250 miles of motorway staying...

206 D Turbo HDI
Review of Peugeot 206 2.0 HDi by
Kennyd90
Advantages: Loads of mid range grunt, looks fab
Disadvantages: None
...I bought my car in March 2003 after waiting 6 weeks for it to be delievered, boy was the wait worth it. I ordered my car with leather interior, air con and sun roof, it looks smart, and it is the thinking man's GTI.
So far I've completed 2000 miles in mine. I find the seats very comfortable and secure - they do hold you in when you are taking corners at speed.
The main reason why I bought a 206 D Turbo was becasue of the fuel economy - I drive 90 miles everyday and I needed an econmical car after my 307 started a drink problem like Oliver Reed. I average about 45MPG when driving to and from work, strangley enough, fuel economey in city driving improves this figure to around 50MPG. The only giveaway that the car is a diesel is when it is idiling - not in terms of sheer noise, but the way the gear lever slightly vibrates, but once...

The car that started the "diesel revolution?"
Review of Peugeot 306 D Turbo by
benham
Advantages: Reliable, Quite Quick, Good On Fuel, Class Leading Design in its day
Disadvantages: Starting to get a little dated, Electrical Faults, Noisy, Smokey in the cold!
...I've had my 306 for a few thousand miles now, after a friend had one for some time, and I was quite impressed with the performance of this French "tractor."
I took the plunge, and have bought a 1994 XRdt (with a whopping 162,000 miles), which was one of the higher spec models for its time, and still stands up fairly well against some brand new cars.
Having previously owned a diesel Fiesta, and having enjoyed the fuel economy offered by the "black stuff," I was more than happy to buy another diesel, even though eighteen months ago, I vowed that I could never write a cheque out for an 'oil burner.'
I collected the car, and on the first start up, I noticed something I had never paid attention to in my friends 306 D-Turbo, that is, even for a diesel, these things are noisy. They do have a distinct nuance of "tractor...
