Dlink 5 Port 10BASET HUb
Review of D-Link DE 805TP - hub - 5 ports by darkteckno

Advantages: value
Disadvantages: none

...The D-Link 805TP is a great hub to use if you have very little desk space available, and need to network up to 5 workstations together either in a workgroup or a LAN environment. The Hub has 5 LED lights on (5th port is the uplink port to connect to your local LAN if you desire). The remaining 4 ports have UTP connections with corresponding LED's. Power is drawn from a AC/DC jack plug transformer. Great value annd a great buy! If you need a hub then this is the one to buy!... Read review

ADSL Modem and Router – the easy option?
Review of D-Link DSL 504T - router by bristol_steve

Advantages: Router & Modem in one box.
Disadvantages: User interface, documentation, functionality.

...With my last hardware review (of an 802.11g card) I realise I may have lost many readers by simply going in at the deep end… it was appropriate for that review (where only users familiar with wireless networking technology would even consider the purchase) – but the same can’t be said for this bit of kit which represents one way to take advantage of broadband internet over a standard BT phone line. Here I will attempt a gentle introduction to the benefits of buying a router of specification similar to the Dlink 504T – then I’ll expand on the specific shortcomings of this particular device. The DLink 504T is a combined 4-port Ethernet switch and ADSL modem sporting features for DHCP, DNS, NAT / PAT and Firewall. I consider it mid-priced at about £55 (more expensive than an unbranded unit with a Connexant chipset, slightly dearer than... Read review

Dlink Strikes Again
Review of D-Link DES 1008D - switch - 8 ports by me.net

Advantages: 8 Port
Disadvantages: Static.

...Dlink DES 1008D Why a switch? Switches are the backbones of a network. They are the devices that at all the computers in the office have no choice but to use. They are a great tool in modern computer networks. The switch allows communication between computers, servers and network printers. What does a switch need to do? 1. Connect multiple computers 2. Be Fast 3. Be Reliable 4. Be user Friendly So will the DES 1008D model handle the pressure? 1. Connectivity The DES 1008D has a total of 8 ports witch means that you could have 8 computers connecting simultaneously, or you could have a variety or pcs, servers, printers, and other networks switches connecting to it. 8 ports will happily support a small office or home based network. 2. Speed So we have found out that it has 8 ports so what will the speed be like. Well... Read review

What a Beltin' Belkin Router!!
Review of Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router - wireless router by mattyprice4004

Advantages: Great wireless range, Futureproof, Nice looking, Fast!
Disadvantages: Some may say it looks a little chunky

...The Belkin first struck me as a bit odd, really. Alongside it in the local PC shop were simpleton designs from companies such as 3COM and DLink for £80-£90, then there was the lovely-looking and future-proof Belkin for £69. Confused? So was I. Anyway, as you would expect, I took the Belkin to it's new home on a dusty shelf in my room. It was a simple case of Plug and Play really (Not Plug and Pray as with so many other routers). Within 5 minutes of opening the box I was happily browsing the Web, with the router sat happily flashing it's little lights at me from accross the room. And thats it really - To this day the router lives - and I have had it for 9 months and counting. Not ONE other router has made it past the 3 month mark (I don't know why either). I have a home-based Web server, and the Belkin makes light work of forwarding... Read review

Four hours + Coffee = Working Wireless Network
Review of D-Link Air DWL 610 by biggreenbox

Advantages: Cheap and functional
Disadvantages: Seemed fiddly to setup

...I wanted an easy way to connect to the internet from any room in my house without the aid of putting new cables in freshly decorated rooms, so based on price alone, I went for the DLink DWL 610 which could connect to my workstation (with a DLink DWL 510, basically the PCI version of the 610). Following the manual's instructions to the letter, I installed the drivers on my XP-based IBM Thinkpad laptop, slapped the card into the PCMCIA slot, and configured it as the manual showed. Oops. Spot the deliberate mistake - I followed the manual. Amazingly, after following the instructions for both cards, I couldn't get the laptop to connect to my workstation, even after fiddling with the settings, checking them and starting again several times. Not the best start really. However, after setting the IP addresses to the 192.168.0.* range... Read review

Old but still keeps up with the new
Review of D-Link DSL 604+ - wireless router by me.net

Advantages: To Many to count
Disadvantages: The user interface

.... Dlink D-link is a fast growing network solutions company that offer high quality products at an affordable price. I have nothing but praise for d-link and there products. The rougher in question is a great piece on engineering. The rougher specifications are great considering its age. It came out in around 2002 and still keeps up with most of the modern roughers. 22 megabits per second is defiantly enough for any broadband connection the standard broadband will run at about 0.5 mbps so over a 22.0 mbps connection there is no problem. The rougher also come with a built in modem which will accept any speed ADSL connection, so if you have a 0.5mbps Connection or an 8 mbps connection the modem will support the link. Also if the connection ever drops for some reason the rougher will automatically attempt to reconnect. The other... Read review

DeLightful DLink
Review of D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G122 by debcrane

Advantages: 'Free' if you buy the DSL G604T :-)
Disadvantages: Becomes very hot, relatively large for a USB dongle

.... If you have a desktop then you may be better investing in a PCI card with an aerial extension for good reception/transmission. I think these USB dongles are best suited to retro-fitting laptops that came without WLAN or for those people dis-inclined to take the lid off of their desktop. Note: DLINK have released the DWL-G132 since this model, so if you want proprietory 108Mbps performance take a look at that.... Read review

I can see you everywhere
Review of D-Link 4-Port Wireless Router by sjday

Advantages: once set up correctly you can forget all about it
Disadvantages: initial setup can be confusing

...It has taken a long time for me to get here but I have finally managed to get myself an wireless network. It took lots of investigation and searching for the right price but I have ended up with a D-LINK 624 802.11g/b wireless router. One of the best things about it is that when you have an compatible Dlink adapter you can have speeds up to 108MB instead of the standard 54MB. Mind you at one stage I was begining to wonder if I was get the network up and going at all. (And I think myself pretty computer literate). I had hunted around for a long time and finally managed to win an auction off e-bay for this bit of kit. I couldn't wait for it to arrive. When it did I went upstairs and gleefully opened the packet and connected it to my desktop. It should be noted that this device needs to be connected to another computer that has internet... DLink...does the D stand for Drop?
Review of D-Link DSL G604T - wireless router by debcrane

Advantages: Cheap, spec is comprehensive, web management works
Disadvantages: drops connection too often, awkward to upgrade firmware, annoying whine

...I bought this kit (along with an included DWL G122 USB dongle; see my separate review) as a package from Ebuyer mid 2005 for £58. I had read all of the reviews I could reasdily lay my hands on and thought it was a bargain at this price and to a degree it is. However... Looking at the specification (see the blurb pasted at the bottom) this is a nice piece of kit for little money. It is firmly in the mainstream of wireless kit still, giving 54g performance and DLink are still releasing firmware updates (it is well over a year since product release). I've found that in practice it works well...when it works. But to get back to the beginning... I live in a large two bed apartment with telephone connections in all rooms BUT the one where I wished to place my PC. Not wanting to mess around with wiring up a new telephone line to the room... Buffalo's Brillant
Review of Buffalo AirStation Wireless-G Broadband ADSL2+ Modem Router WBMR-KG54 - wireless router - with AirStation 54 Mbps Keychain Adapter by craigcheats_uk

Advantages: Wide range of connection,Supurb Firewall In Built, Easy to use, Small and Stylish
Disadvantages: only up to XP capatible, Vista driver soon hopefully

...I recently bought one of these routers after my dlink blew up, I was told by a friend that buffalo made excellent wireless routers and he wasn't wrong, this router works brillantly. This router has wireless access, including 4 ports intergrated for any ethernet cable needs, its small and easy to place anywhere without it looking out of place, It has a 54mbps data transfer rate which is rather good for todays router standards, a 2.4ghz frequency band, which means it can be recieved over a good distance, but the distance can be changed using the easy browser setup. It has many data link protocols incluing Ethernet, Fast Ethernet. IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g. It also has many features to this device as, Firewall protection (never had a virus since using it), auto sensing per device, DCHP support, auto uplink, IGMP snooping, Stateful... Read review
