...The souncard market has never really been swamped with options. For those of us who don't use onboard sound and demand a seperate sound card for our sorround sound/gaming/music needs theres never been much choice. Most people go with Creative as they are well known and apparently respectable. I did just that a few years ago, it was a mistake. Their driver and customer support, especially for Windows Vista users is seriously lacking. I was finding my games locking up, my computer suffering from fatal errors (aka Blue Screens of Death) and just general sound issues that were hindering my enjoyment. Research soon showed that the creative card was to blame. As a result i threw my old creative soundcard in the bin and opted for something new, the Asus Xonar D1.
Simple, small and effective. Asus's card supports Vista and its drivers are...

Review of ASUS Xonar D1
Advantages: This is a brilliant camera that copes well in most situations. Disadvantages: The D1X is quite heavy and bulky, not recommended for occasional photographers!
...I have been using the D1X for about 2 years in my job as a military photographer. The basic package will come with the D1X body, a 35-70mm lens, and nikon battery and charger.
The quality which this camera records information can be seen in the finished product. I have taken images of landscapes, aircraft, people, technical parts (including close-up's) and many other subjects.
There are 4 modes for use with this camera, shutter priority, manual, apature priority and 'P' or 'automatic'. Along with this are subject settings, i.e: sunny; cloudy; florescent lighting; shadow; ect, all of which are excellent features. The D1X performs well in most circumstances, although it is not brilliant with skin tones. For every 6/10 photographs I take of people, I need to correct the colour slightly. Apart from this dissapointing feature...

Review of My Big Confession
Advantages: Lightweight, clear display.battery operation, FM band facillity in the event of DAB being unavailable. Disadvantages: Reception very position dependent, flimsy construction, terrible tinny sound on DAB NO BASS
..., you've either got it or you haven't. Another advantage is that DAB enables a greter use of bandwidth, a term used to describe how much 'signal' or information can be transmitted at one time.As DAB is much more efficient than the older FM etc it has led to a rush of new radio stations such as Planet Rock, Virgin etc all in glorious digital sound.
So there was the incentive for me to purchase a new DAB radio in the form of this Panasonic RF-D1. Now Panasonic are a very trusted brand in my household-having owned a £1000 (yes that right..) S-VHS VCR, a 1600w Vacuum cleaner, my parents owning a VCR and an £800 28" TV (still going strong after ten years), I didn't really feel I could go wrong...
So off I went around town looking for DAB radios. Unusually for me my second and last stop was Apollo 2000. There in front of me was this silver...

Review of Panasonic RF-D1
Advantages: Good reception, good sound quality, clock timer Disadvantages: No RDS on FM
...a clock and timer so I could use it to go to sleep or wake up to; it had to have good reception as we live in a bit of a hollow; and it had to sound great!
Wanting a clock timer really narrowed down the field - there are lots of mains operated clock DAB radios, but if you want a battery operated portable with a clock there is a choice of about 3: the Intempo KTC-01, the “Pure” Elan and Panasonic RF-D1. The Panasonic was about £50 more than the Pure Elan and the Intempo, and I was in a bit of a quandary over which one to go for then two fortunate things happened…. One was that the Radio Listener’s Guide dropped through my door (the definitive guide to all things radio), which gave the Panasonic a glowing review in terms of DAB sensitivity, FM reception and sound quality, whilst giving the Pure Elan and Intempo...

Review of Panasonic RF-D1
Advantages: Fast shutter lag, fast continuous shooting, fast switch on. Did I mention that it's fast? Disadvantages: Expensive (but if you can get one cheap 2nd hand...). Obtrusive.
...If you're happy with a humble 2.6 megapixels, this camera has everything - gloriously tactile and begging to be used, it makes you want to wait outside in the rain outside the local McDonalds in the hope of a c-list celebrity emerging so you can fire away at five frames per second until the huge 40 frame buffer is full.
I would advise anyone who wants a camera for photojournalism or sports and has any investment in Nikon lenses from a previous film SLR to buy the latest D2X or 2003's D2H. But if you can't afford one, pick up a good condition D1H for under £1k on eBay. That's what I did and I never looked back.
There are a few minor quibbles - the silly plastic LCD cover just gets lost so the LCD screen is vulnerable to scratches, similarly the socket covers fall off the D1H, the batteries could last longer - you'll need a spare...

As the previous review from D1A1UK suggested that Ferrari 360 Challenge won't ever be released on PS2, he was wrong! It was released 2 or 3 years ago under the name "Ferrari F355 Challenge".
This game is the exact port from the arcades. When i played this game in the arcades, I loved it to bits. Now that it has made to the PS2, I still love it.
It has the exact amount of tracks that were available on the arcades, the same Ferrari cars to choose from and the same high quality graphics.
The PS2 version has 4 modes: Arcade, Champiosnhip, Great Driver Challenge and Versus Play. Playing in Arcade is the exact copy of the Arcade version of the game. Playing against vehicles on numerous tracks and complete the race within the time limit. Champiosnhip is driving...

...The Dymo D1 tapes, which are suitable for a whole host of different Dymo label machines are a great invention.
Most of us will remember the old Dymo machines, which used pure pressure, to stamp out the letters on to a pretty hard plastic sheet, which had a self adhesive backing.
The new Dymo machines, with the D1 tape brings it all to the 21st Century. Using heat technology, to bond the ink to a thin plastic sheet, and produce good quality thin labels to be adhered to whatever you like.
The D1 is available in a whole host of widths; 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 19mm, 24mm, and a whole host of colours, ranging from; black on transparent, black on white, black on yellow, white on transparent etc etc.
I have been using D1 tapes for over a year now, t on the small LablePoint 100 hand held machine, and the larger Label Manager 400 machines...

Scary Alien Monster Easter Chicks - Last year at 7am in the morning my darling 5 year old daughter crept into my room, sat on the bed and then shouted with the venom of Bodica, "I am the Scary Alien Monster Easter Chick and I will eat you." At this point, extremely startled, I sat up to witness an extremely disfigured and bent up, one eyed, yellow chick that had been used (appropriately) the previous week as a decorative and much cuter part of the Easter Cake.
4) My reflection in the morning. I've got 20/20 vision, perfectly straight mirrors and I still jump at the ghastly apparition that greets me as I enter the realm of the Bathroom.
