...The Nikon D300 will currently set you back around £1000 in the UK, and that's without the glass on the front. My review here might seem technical to some, but that's not an amount of money most people part with lightly. I don't apologise for putting some basic spec in the review, after all, if you're considering buying this camera, it's exactly what you need to know before getting out your wallet. If you're after a camera that will take good quality pictures, and allow you minimal chance to alter the settings, then there are other cameras out there that will offer you better value for money. Either way, I'd never advise buying a new camera, this one included, off the back of reading a review. You should always see that camera in person before making a decision. Canon Powershot SX110 IS

Advantages: Lots of features
Disadvantages: Quite expensive

...Design The Canon Powershot SX110 IS is a pretty big camera compared to some on the market. It is around 11cm by 7cm and feels quite large in your hands, although this does make it feel sturdy and strongly built. Despite the size, it fits into your hands rather smoothly and is fairly comfortable to hold. It weighs in at around 300g which is quite heavy but once again makes it feel strong. It is too large to keep it comfortably in your pocket and so the wrist strap comes in handy. (A neck strap would be a nice addition though). I was told you can also purchase a pouch for it to clip on to your belt. You can get to the buttons, pop up flash light and battery space easily and they are all well made and strong. The battery space holds two AA battery's and they are easy to change compared to some cameras which are fiddly or the battery...

Samsung SGH M110 : solid but slow.

Be inspired by the Acer Aspire One A110

After doing a bit of research, she convinced me to buy her the Acer Aspire One netbook which she would use for web browsing and writing simple documents. You'd be able to fit it under your arm and carry it no problem. But what I love about this camera is just how easy it is to get great results. Almost paradoxically, despite the camera looking awfully complicated with the many buttons, it is actually far easier to use than my D40x. My D300 had a hard workout last weekend; cloud, rain, bright sun, indoors, outdoors, moving children, closeups, distance shots and it got all the pictures right first time, regardless of the conditions. All I changed was the ISO when shooting indoors, though this can be set to auto too. The Nikon D40 would have required continual altering...
