Lt Dunbar Dances With Wolves

Advantages: amazing acting and storyline, gorgeous scenery and music
Disadvantages: May be too long for some

...Dunbar was great. He started off as a proper US Army soldier and was always turned out correctly in his uniform but as the film moved on it was nice to see him change and mellow. He manage to show so many different sides to his character and I loved watching him grow. He worked very well with all of the actors playing the Sioux Indians. The Sioux Indians came across in a very good light and I loved watching and learning how they loved and took care of each other. There were some aspects of them which I was not too keen on, like when they painted their horses for battle and the scary looking dances they did around their fires but this was their way of life so I had to accept it. The main Indians which we saw were Holy man and the white woman who was raised by the Indians. They gave excellent performance sand really moved me at times...

...Dirty Dancing is just one of those films that everyone is expected to have seen. Now obviously the fact that I am writing this review lets you know that I have seen the film and so I am definitely one of those people who just presumes that everyone else has seen it. Dirty Dancing was released in 1987 but is set in the Summer of 1963. It stars Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the lead roles of Johnny Castle and Frances 'Baby' Houseman. ...Dirty Dancing has to be one of my all time favourite films. I have watched it so many times and each time I enjoy it just as much as the last time. It hasn't got the greatest of story lines but it has the best soundtrack ever and some absolutely captivating dancing! The film stars Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey who play Johnny and Baby. These two characters could not be more different from one an other - he from the streets and she from a privileged background - but they end up meeting and falling in love, although with a lot of misunderstandings along the way! Good dance DVD for beginners

Advantages: Fun, great music, basic and easy to understand
Disadvantages: not so good to "get fit", too basic at some points

...I've literally just finished the end of this DVD and thought Id write the review whilst it was still fresh in my mind! Pineapple Studios Everybody Dance does what it says on the tin "Learn To Dance, Get fit, & have fun!" - but only just. The choreographer is really good, and her credibility is backed up by the fact that she has worked with stars like the Sugababes, Rihanna and Mary J Blige. You definitely warm to her, shes not patronising, and you do feel part of the dance class whilst she is teaching you the moves! There are three main routines that she teaches you, each with a chorus and verse - "Maneater" by Nelly Furtado, "SOS" By Rhianna, "Aint No Other Man" by Christina Aguilera and "Beep" by The Pussycat Dolls. The DVD also includes other extras like meeting the dance troupe, make up tips etc as well as a full routine...
