Lloyds on Lloyds

Advantages: Many branches, deposits easily made
Disadvantages: Sometimes the shear size cannot deal with individuals across depts

...Lloyds TSB, a fusion giant of the Lloyds Bank and the Trustee Savings Bank in 1995, becoming one of largest banks in the UK. Its head office now in London, Gresham Street. In Scotland it is known as Lloyds TSB Scotland. It also owns Cheltenham and Gloucester, Scottish Widows, and Black Horse. This is an example of a monster of a bank who are extremely good to you if you are paying the staff wages, but when you get into difficulties they seem to heavily crush you. Mind you it is not fair to say Lloyds are alone in this, all the financial institutions operate this way. But Lloyds in my experience are relatively good in some departments but poor in others. If there are no problems with your accounts then there is not really a problem. However, if you open many accounts with them, they have various departments dealing...

Lloyds banking

Advantages: Easy way to keep track of finances
Disadvantages: Can be slow at times

...Lloyds TSB internet banking lets you manage your finances, apply for loans, credit cards, mortgages & pay off bills from home or anywhere with internet access. It seems very secure, you have a 9 digit username which is randomly given to you to prevent people guessing then you have a password which much be more than 6 digits & preferably a mix of letters & numbers. You then also have to enter your memorable information which very similar to a password therefore can be pretty much anything you want it to be as long as you can remember it! It can sometimes be irritating having to enter this infomation every single time not to mention time consuming if you're in a rush to check your account balance but it does make it that little bit more secure & give you the extra peace of mind that your finances are secure. Once you have...

Review of Lloyds TSB Online Banking

Lloyds TSB

Advantages: Generally good service, helpful!
Disadvantages: High charges!

... Lloyds TSB I have been with Lloyds TSB literally all my life, they've always seemed to be a good bank to me, they won't lend me money as it is as I've never had credit and have been a student and never had a full time job, which is good, a lot of banks don't care and will give money out to anyone regardless of whether they can pay it back or not, but I've never had this with Lloyds, the only thing with them is the charges they put on your account for an unplanned overdraft, but these unplanned overdrafts I take with Lloyds really are a godsend when my wages are short by 50 pound one month and my phone bill needs paying so I don?t mind a £25 charge for a £100 unplanned overdraft, it s when you go overdrawn by 4p that the charge is annoying!!! Other than this, Lloyds have been a very good bank for me, yes they try to sell me...

FREE DVDs

Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review

...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them. ∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊ Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

DANNY DID IT

Advantages: Exciting and educational
Disadvantages: A bit dated

...This children's book is part of a series about the eponymous hero and his friends. He is a teenage boy who has the knack of causing and getting into trouble. However, it is never done in a malicious way but rather by going too far with his inquisitive nature or simply by being careless. He then turns into the hero by resolving the problems caused by his actions. This provoked a spark of enlightenment in my daughter. She cried: "That is why the book is called Danny Dunn!" In essence, he is a normal teenage boy, which makes him easily identifiable and empathetic. His upbringing in a single parent family with his mum working for the local boffin, Professor Bullfinch, gives him that extra pressing for scientific knowledge. This sets him apart and the required little bit out of the ordinary for his adventures to take place. The books are...

Lovely Old Lloyds!

Advantages: Cheap, Lovely Setting, Comfortable Surroundings, Good Food & Atmosphere!
Disadvantages: None that I can think of!

...Being a student (cheap, obviously hard working and out for those bargains!) I often find myself drawn to drinking establishments in true student fashion. Now as funds can be rather limited, especially as it draws nearer to the end of term, one has to go where one can sample cheap drinks and where better than Lloyds! I typically visit this particular Lloyds about once a week, sometimes for dinner but mostly just for pre-clubbing drinks! ~ Location ~ The Printworks is located in Manchester just a 5 minute walk from Victoria Train Station and about 10 minutes from Piccadilly, therefore occupying a central position in the heart of Manchester. The Printworks itself is Europe's first urban entertainment venue and comprises of 10 bars and restaurants (including Tiger Tiger, Lucid, Lloyds, Wagamama and Nandos), a 20-screen cinema...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Banking with Lloyds TSB

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Unethical, pushy sales, poor rates

...Lloyds TSB are becoming increasingly irritating with their in-branch pushy sales tactics. What used to be a five minute visit to the bank has now become 40 minutes as they try and sell you a mortgage, credit card, loan, insurance or an up grade to your account. If I do need to go into a Lloyds TSB branch, I mentally prepare myself before entering so that I am ready to speak assertively when the cashier asks ''There is something flashing up on your account. Do you have a few moments to speak to someone about this? It could be important.'' Don't be fooled. This means they want to take you into a room to try and sell you products and you will feel very awkward about coming out of the room, 40 minutes later, without agreeing to insurance/ credit card/ mortgage. I was also getting a phone call every day at home until I asked to come...

Lloyds TSB

Advantages: It has lots to offer and the computer thing that tells you on the spot if you can have something or not
Disadvantages: None

...I have been with Lioyds TSB for 4 years now and I have never had any trouble with them up till now. The members of staff are very helpful and understanding. They have a computer system which tells the staff what a customer can have so there is no uming and arhing if the computer says you can have a overdraft, debit card or personal loan then you can. That's what I like most about Lloyds TSB, as it saves me time and they can give me a decision on the spot. The computer is updated every month and keeps a record of the last 6 months, so if you have managed your account well for the last 6 months they will be able to offer you a wide variety of services. They offer a wide range of account's, I have choose to go for a "select account". The benefits for this account include free £50 overdraft, free AA membership, reduced interest...
