...While there is nothing impressive or extraordinarily romantic in The Wedding Date, it is a movie which I would recommend for some light entertainment and just the right dash of romance. Starring Debra Mesisng and Dermot Mulroney, the plot is about a single woman who is invited to her parent's home for the wedding of her little sister. However, catastrophe arises when Kat (Mesisng) realizes that her ex fiancé would be attending the wedding too. Not wanting to lose face in front of him, Kat does the one thing possible: She hires Nick (Dermot Mulroney), a male escort to accompany her to the wedding and pose as her boyfriend. ...I had never even heard of this film when I bought it but, because it was on offer and because of the two lead actors who I have always liked I decided to bite the bullet and buy it. I am very glad I did really as it is a pretty good film. The film was written by Elizabeth Young and Dana Fox and directed by Clare Kilner. The story: Kat is successful and living in New York. However she is still single and when a trip beckons to London to attend her half sister Amy's wedding, she needs a date to take with her and fast! She wants to make her ex fiancé, Jeffrey, jealous who, also happens to be the best man and so she hires a gorgeous escort named Nick to be her 'boyfriend' for the trip at a huge cost of $6000! The family are shocked to find she has bagged herself such a gorgeous man but, will it all come out who he really is...

...Yet again Woolworths comes involve for yet another review. They had put 2 DVDs really cheap, unfortunately I was not there to get them, but my mom was so I had no option but to watch these 2 films. These 2 films were 50 First Dates and Maid in Manhattan. They were both only £5 each so it was definitely worth it, according to both my mom and Woolworths. This film follows a girl called Lucy, who had a very fatal car accident, and she is diagnosed with amnesia, so every single day she thinks that it's the day of her accident. However, this person called Henry, is new in Hawaii and meets her one day, at a cafe. He doesn't know she has amnesia and all of a sudden the say they'll meet each other the next day, only she had totally forgotten about that arrangement. Then Henry has a really good idea, but will it work, or will it not work...

...Every once in a while you come across a movie that is so devoid of merit that you actually want to come face to face with the makers of it and slap some sense into them. ...On Saturday 11th March I purchased a ticket for DATE MOVIE, at a princely (or downright disgusting) sum of £7.30. When did cinema prices get so darn high?! As it was a Saturday and a certificate 12 movie, the cinema was full of squealing youths (you know what girls are like at that age, and boys too even). ***What is DATE MOVIE?*** The movie is a spoof of romantic comedies of the eighties, nineties and today telling a very silly story indeed. My idea of a spoof if that the writers cram as many jokes into 90-odd minutes as possible and just cross their fingers and hope that a coherent story comes out of it anyway.
