...Opening with a sequence set in the not too distant future, unstoppable killer Jason Vorhees is being held captive by a group of scientists at the Crystal Lake Research Facility. ...This...... is the current American Idol Winner. David Cook is the American Idol that nearly never was. He actually was not initially going to try out for the television talent show, he was at the auditions to support his brother but, after some pushing from his brother, decided to audition too. A good decision, because he became the winner of the seventh season of American Idol in 2008. David Cook is classified as a Rock, singer-songwriter. His sound is definitely very rocky, but in my opinion quite soft rock. He has a very deep, raspy voice that lends itself very well to this type of music. What I really like about him is that he can actually play an instrument, unlike a lot of the new pop stars out there today who are just manufactured. Advantages: Fresh sotryline, fresh characters, bloody good fun!

...Two years after 'Halloween' came 'Friday the 13th' in 1980, a quick cash in on the genre. It was a decent horror movie, scary and bloody. After that came 8 sequels which weren't up to scratch. They were made quickly, without thought and blood-thirsty resulting in movies that only hard-core fans of the series could enjoy. Then came Jason X, a movie that you can enjoy without having to see the previous 9 and without having to be a hard-core fan. After numerous failed attempts to kill him off, Jason (Kane Hodder) is set to be cryogenically frozen until Rowan (Lexa Doig) can work out what to do with him. Except that things don't quite go to plan. Scientists and military personnel are killed leaving Rowan to fend for herself. ...Well the title says it all. Well, almost, you'll have to read on to understand. Of all the cult horror classics that the modern film culture had to go and destroy why did they decide to anhiliate the Friday the 13th enigma. If you haven't seen the film and dislike spoilers please don't read on because i'm so disgusted at this film i'm intent on telling everyone. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
