Triumph Daytona 675, individually superb!!

Advantages: Triumph badge, grunt, handling, image, build quality
Disadvantages: will keep you out all weekend, prepare the divorce papers!!

...Over the years I've owned middleweight Honda's, Kawasaki's, Yamaha's, KTM's and an Aprilia Mille. I judge a bike by whether it gets me out of bed before 8am at the weekends. The Triumph Daytona 675 certainly does, not just at the weekends either. My Daytona is a 05 in red, the best colour in my opinion. I have to say that of all the bikes I've owned this is by far the best all rounder and its given me the biggest grin of the lot. Not to say that it does everything reasonably well like a CBR 600; the 675 everything exceptionally well, has the image, the heritage and the grin factor packed in as well! In my early riding years I was a junky for the Japanese reliability, yet soon became bored whilst everyone seemed to own the same bike as me and have the same opinion that they'd probably picked up from Ride Magazine last week. Daytona

Advantages: Relaxing, Clean Beach, Can go cruising on the beach
Disadvantages: basic motels

...I have mixed feelings about Daytona, but having travelled to Orlando on holiday, it was one of the places I felt I had to see. It is approximately one to one and a half hours drive from Orlando and very, very different from the commercialism of Orlando/Disney. When we were there it was the build up to the Daytona 500 and it was very busy. We visited Daytona Speedway when the cars were practising and did the "tour" where a small train takes you through the tunnel on the infield, awesome, you really dont realise the sheer scale of the place until you are in the middle of it. You are given all the information you need to know about the Speedway and if you are lucky may see some cars practising. Considering how famous Daytona is you really shouldnt miss it. The tour lasts about half an hour but I cant recall how much it was, but not...

Daytona 900 - Sports Tourer

Advantages: Triumph Brand. Good Finnish. Stable and predictable.
Disadvantages: Heavy, long reach to bars, parts expensive.

...This is my second Daytona 900, so I guess I like them. I had a VFR750 in between. The Daytona is a good long distance fast tourer. It is not a sports bike and if thats what you want I would look to one of the newer Daytonas or another bike altogether. It sweeps through bends and is very stable at speed but it doesn't have the fast steering of a sports bike or the insaine power band. The power is smooth and progresive, there is plenty but it doesn't come all in a rush like alot of sports bikes. The Daytona has a fantastic sense of presence and it is the kind of bike that makes people look to see what it is. Mine is bright red which also probably makes it more noticable. (My last one was black which was very difficult to keep clean) The seat is very comfortable and the pegs are not so high up to be cramped (I'm 5'10"). However it...

Review of Triumph Daytona 900

A huge improvement over the first Saturn version!

Advantages: More levels, more cars, great graphics, great music, multiplayer!!
Disadvantages: Handling isn't too great, can be finished easily etc.

I personally think this is a poo statement but everyone is allowed their own opinions right?. Daytona USA CCE improves massively on the original release on the Saturn with it's wider range of cars, tracks to race on and MUCH better graphics, however it does have a few small thing which make it inferior to the original version of the game. ...Daytona USA was a great game to play in the arcades. It was one of the first games that had truly great graphics, the step up from the old 2D games to the new breed of 3D games. It was also one of those arcade games that could be linked up togther, so you could have lots of human players in each race. If I remember correctly Sega World (or somewhere similar) had a massive link up of Daytona USA cabinets, and although I'm not sure of the number it may have been up to 40!! Then the ill fated Sega Saturn came out, and although it flopped, Daytona USA was one of the early games. It was a massive hit for the machine and I remember it as being pretty good. Snooz'n USA

Advantages: Spotting landmarks, controls do the job
Disadvantages: Poor collisions physics, cornering troubles, infinite continues

...The N64 limitations meant Midway were never going to come close to producing a perfect port of the arcade checkpoint racer, Cruis'n USA, but to rub asphalt into the wounds, the title would be censored by Nintendo (at the least animals were removed), whilst bloody fighting games Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Killer Instinct Gold avoided being butchered... Speaking of which, the frame rate gets rather choppy when driving through detailed surroundings, such as downtown San Francisco - this is also the section where the external views can be blocked, albeit partially and briefly, by cars behind. There are direction signs in Cruis'n USA but nothing to tell how tight an upcoming turn is - there is a radar for CPU presence, but no map present so you never know until too late, and traffic is sure to come blind as well. It's calling me, it's calling you

Advantages: 128 bit glorious Daytona, in your home, the Graphics, the playability, no-one to distract you
Disadvantages: The controls may put some off

...DAAAAAAYYYTOOOOONAAAAAAA! There, it's off my chest, but it isn't out of my mind. Every night when I try and sleep I see the cars going round and round, and the voices... "Ladies and Gentleman, start your engines...DAAAAYYTOOONAAA" etc etc. If you haven't heard of Daytona, get to your local arcade now. I don't care if it's closed, go there. I was... sorry, I AM a huge Daytona fan. The arcade version swallowed up most of my spare cash, then it became a habit, then a fully blown addiction. The Saturn version(s) disappointed me to no end (mainly due to the graphics and the digital controls, as I couldn't get my hands on an analogue pad), so I was praying pretty hard that the Dreamcast would be 'the biz'. Advantages: Helps guide you around other countries. Easy to install

They originally come with UK/Europe maps so these are a brilliant upgrade if you are considering taking your car abroad or hiring a car and driving over there. These are a lot easier than using a standard map when you are visiting another country and make getting around easy. We have just bought one of these as we are planning a trip to the USA and decided one of these would be useful. I have never been abroad so certainly wont know my way around.
