...Daz with a difference, Daz Mandarin and Lime Splash.
You do get some good offers and promotions on laundry products and Wilkinson's had this Daz on special offer, two 680g boxes for £2.80, at that price it was to much to resist.
The combination of mandarin and lime sounded fine and I always seem to like those fresh citrus smells.
The packaging is more or less what you would expect, the bright red Daz box with a slice of lime and an orange segment floating along the bottom. The fruit is bursting with juice which looks fresh and appealing.
The slogan however is not the most sophisticated I have ever come across, `The Zesty Splosh that freshens your wash!`
Wow, that one took some thinking up !
The Daz powder is fairly soft and fine and it does have a strong citrus smell although I cannot especially pick out either lime or mandarin...

Review of Daz Washing Powder
Advantages: Great scent, good cleaning powder, great price. Disadvantages: None.
...I am staying at my Mums at present and Daz is the soap powder that she has currently purchased. The box is red, white & blue and stands out on the soap powder shelves as quite a recognisable product. The box has a handy pour spout which you just pull out of one side and this helps to pour the soap powder directly in to the washing machine drawer. The soap powder has a standard fresh, clean scent to it and nothing that I could put my finger on. The box states that it contains enough for 10 washes but my Mum says that she usually makes this last a good 15-20 washes as she rarely has soiled washing or even complete loads as for the most part she lives alone and just has her clothes & bedding to wash. I did not actually measure out a particular amount and just sprinkled it in to the drawer, I would definitely say that I used far less than 10...

Review of Daz Washing Powder
Advantages: Delicious taste, recyclable pot. Disadvantages: Quite expensive, can be a little sickly.
...I purchased this 500ml tub of Haagen Dazs Belgian Chocolate for £4.25 from our local fish & chip shop recently when treating my fiance to a takeaway for tea after he had a hard day at work.
The ice cream is provided in a cardboard round pot with a plastic lid and I believe the whole thing is recyclable (I throw it in the recycling bin anyway!).
Once you open the lid you can smell the chocolate ice cream straight away and the smell is enough to make your mouth water before you've even got you spoon dug in!
The ice cream is pretty hard if it's just come straight from the freezer so I would recommend leaving it out on the side for 10 minutes or leaving it in the fridge for half hour (we left it in the fridge whilst eating our delicious takeaway).
Once softened get your spoon & dig in! We never eat Haagen Dazs from a bowl and simply...
Advantages: Chocolatey and creamy Disadvantages: Quite expensive
...I don't often eat ice cream but when I saw that Haagen Dazs Belgian Chocolate was on offer for £3 for a 500ml tub, I thought I'd treat myself. It usually costs between £3.50 and £4.00.
The packaging is a very nice part deep red and part gold carton with a plastic lid. The 500ml tub is a handy size for keeping in the freezer as it does not take up much room. A 500ml tub usually lasts me and my other half about two weeks.
The ice cream itself has a lovely texture. It is very soft and creamy so you don't have to dig away at it for ages just to get some out of the tub! This kind of texture is fairly typical of Haagen Dazs ice cream which makes it a really good accompaniment for warm desserts as it melts into a lovely cream. This particular ice cream has shavings of dark chocolate which melt in your mouth as you eat it making it a bit more...
Advantages: Good clean wash, Fresh smell, White whites, good at low temperatures, Easy to use, Disadvantages: none
...I discovered Daz tablets on offer at Wilkinsons, they cost £3.58 for a 24 wash box (48 tablets), I have seen the cheesy cleaner close adverts advertising Daz, and think they are quite funny.
Laundry Tablets have been around now for nearly 10 years, Persil Bringing out their first tablets in 1998 and Ariel in 1999, there are many different brands out there Ariel, Bold2in1, Persil, Fairy, Surf amongst others. I am not in anyway loyal to any brand but just buy which ever tablets are on offer. I used to use powder but I switched to tablets as my son has gone off to university and I no longer have much washing to do.
They are also easy for my son to use at university as he just needs to take a pack down with him to the laundry room in his halls.
Daz has always advertised as getting your whites whiter than white, and I have to say...
Advantages: Luxurious taste, great smell and contains fresh cream. Disadvantages: can be a little expensive for some!
...of money (and ruin your taste buds: even my cat refused it)!
I admit I'm a fussy and picky person; especially when it comes to choosing an ice cream. I have to confess that I HAVE NEVER tried any cheap, or supermarket value ice cream or even tried a cheap ice lolly or a "choc ice" . . . and I don't think I will; I'd rather pay extra to indulge myself than to eat something made from nasty cheap ingredients or an extra-sugary fatty lump of fat ice cream. Some of these have used animal fat which is really disgusting; some are purely water and sugar!
So take my advice: pay a little more and gain a pleasure!
One of these "a pleasure to eat" ice creams is Häagen-Dazs!
Häagen-Dazs, not surprisingly, is an American brand of ice cream, established by Reuben and Rose Mattus in The Bronx, New York in 1959. They started...
Advantages: Great taste, refreshing and fulfilling Disadvantages: Oh, it is dear, my friends
...We went to watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets last night. It's a great film, even better than the first, and as good as the book, but hey I am not talking Potter here am I? I am not talking wizards and sorcery - even though the makers of what I AM discussing might well have used magic to create such a wonderful product.
(This member will write a full review of that Potter film soon. )
No, tonight we are discussing naughty indulgences…
Not those naughty indulgences that require whipped cream and stockings, knee length boots and a whip (down boy). Oh No! The indulgences I am talking are those ice cream indulgences.
You have tasted Walls, you have tasted Carte Dor, but if you haven't yet then Haagan Dazs is the thing you have got to taste.
It is… ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
...I'm one for trying different washing powders. I like to try all the latest fads on the market, even them capsule ones I've tried. But I always end up going back to my loyal and trusty friend - Daz. Daz is my bestest friend in the world! Why? Because he does what he's supposed to do! He leaves my clothes smelling nice, washing them to the cleanest they've ever been, and it's one of the cheapest around!
At only £1.69 for a 1.215 KG box, I'm not going to grumble at that price. Considering what some of them cost for half that!
It contains dye lock, which helps to protect the white on your mixed-coloured garments. On the side of the box, it tells you how much powder to use, depending on how grubby your clothes are. It says that if you have sensitive skin, then to avoid prolonged contact with the washing powder. It comes in...

Review of Daz Washing Powder
Advantages: Easy to pour powder at a reasonable price Disadvantages: Doesn't clean heavy stains very well
...I have been using Daz washing powder for a good few years now. I chose it because my Mum used to use it. I suppose all those years ago it was state of the art. Sadly now its cleaning power has been superceeded by the likes of Ariel and Persil.
However, I choose to use it becaue it is not harsh on either clothes or skin. I am a little bit wary of the more 'powerful' powders aned what they are doing to your clothes, your skin and what disappears down the drain. Now I'm not saying that Daz is environmentally friendly but if it doesn't contain quite so mainy chemicals then that must help.
Although it may not clean as well as some other powders I find that 9 times out of 10 my wash, whether darks or whites, is perfectly clean. My whites aren't 'blue white' but they are definitely white! The only stains it struggles on are tomato...

Review of Daz Washing Powder
Advantages: Gets white immaculately clean, smells great and is cheap Disadvantages: Biological powder with bleach, bad for delicate skin or coloured clothes
...What first attracted me to Daz powder was the claim that it makes whites whiter than white. I actually don't like the advertising campaigns they have out at the moment (Cleaner Close etc). I decided that I would give this washing powder a try so headed off to the local Sainsbury's to buy a box. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's only £1.98 per 950g box, which, according to the packet is good for 10 washes. Bargain!!!
The next most obvious thing was to try it out and see if Daz's claims are true. I thought that dirty wet tea towels with caked on muck would be a good choice of things to try it out on, so I loaded my machine half-load, bunged in the advised amount of powder, set it to 60 degrees and away we went.
One hour and a half later and my laundry of dirty tea towels was rejuvenated to their original white and red...
