Dyson DC05 with Turbo Brush

Advantages: Great suction, funky looks, filters...the list is endless!
Disadvantages: Bagless, so despite all the filters, you have to face a lot of dust when emptying it.

...heavy for me to lug around, and also too heavy for my boys to manage (they sometimes help me out!)The DC05 is the lightest of them - far lighter than the uprights, and I ended up buying the top of the range model with permanent filters *and* a turbo brush, which is a head which has the whirling brush bar similar to what you would find on the upright models. So far I like it. It's very funky looking in purple and green (not at all like the photo here!) and even my boys tried playing with it straight away , a habit I'm happy to encourage..... and they're now using it far more happily and successfully than they ever used the Vax! It certainly picks up *far* more dust than I've ever seen picked up before, and I like being able to see what it's got in the cylinder as if something sounds like it's been picked up when it shouldn't have been...

DC05 Motorhead is superb

Advantages: superb product, does the job well. Cheaper to buy online.
Disadvantages: More expensive than other cleaners (but worth the money).

...Our old DC02 was getting a bit tired after coping successfully for 5 years in our busy household. None of our previous cleaners had lasted more than 2 years, so it was back to Dyson again. I took the plunge and bought the top of the range DC05 motorhead (£269.99 from www.freenet.ltd - £314 in the shops). Easy, clear set up instructions, fantastic to use - I didn't realise how much Dysons had improved in 5 years. The motorised brush bar really got the dust out of my carpets, they look like new. It picked up every hair from my daughter's bedroom - a miracle which no cleaner has been able to match. Its light, easy to use, follows you upstairs (great in my 3 storey house). The brushbar can be set to slow for grooming in dry cleaning powder (supplied with the cleaner). This works well, obviously not as good as shampooing, but its a lot...

Very good, cheap, reliable vacuum cleaner.

Advantages: Cheap, powerful suction, reliable.
Disadvantages: Noisy.

...I bought my Dyson DC05, six years ago and have to say it has been a great purchase. I use it on carpets, laminate flooring and the furniture, and it has always done a great job. The suction is a powerful as I could imagine I'd ever need, the Dyson has always performed well in whatever vacuuming task I've given it from general cleaning (household dust and dirt), to broken drinks glasses, to decorating mess (plaster, flakes of old paint, sawdust, metal filings), it has completed them all without any problem. The Dyson has been reliable, I have never had a single problem with it, all the parts seem robust enough withstand the usual knocks and scrapes during cleaning. dyson dc24 not as good as i would have thought

Advantages: small, good for small spaces, easy to store
Disadvantages: suction not up to par

...I purchased this dyson having owned a dyson for many years, and then my new puppy decided to chew any chewable parts that it had, so opted to buy a new one. Now initially my mum had went and bought me a miele hoover, which was not an upright or bagless but the suction is apparantly superior, but i prefer an upright and when i tried to vacuum my rugs with the miele, i decided an upright would be the less physically demanding cleaner for me, which is always important to a busy mum and housewife. I searched the net and found one on cdiscount for £179.99 which was on offer at the time, so i went ahead and bought it and looked forward to receiving it. I chose this one instead of the dc24 as i have a lot of stairs in my house and the smaller size appealled to me as not being as heavy as a larger one, would be easier to take around...

...It is now almost exactly a year since we brought our Dyson DC05 vacuum cleaner. We got it just before Christmas last year and it is great. We had chosen to get one of these after a recommendation from a friend who had recently brought one. We went to argos to buy it, but they are also available from many other electrical shops and even some supermarkets sell them. There were a number of different ones to choose from. They have upright vacuums and ones in various colours, but we decided on the dyson DC05 because it would be easy to move around and for doing the stairs. It cost £199 and it is grey and yellow. As you would expect, it comes in a very big box with a picture of the dyson on it. On the box and on the information booklet included inside it tells you about the features of the dyson DC05. These are 1200 watts cord rewind...

Cyclone blows woman's dirt into the past

Advantages: Lightweight, no bags or filters to buy EVER, HEPA filtration means only clean air comes out, and a mega dirt sucker upper on carpet or hard floors, incl pet hair

More suction than me!

Advantages: Compact, sturdy, no need for bags/filters, excellent suction
Disadvantages: Small attachments get in your way, plastic parts on tubes break easily, won't sit on stairs

...I'd heard all about Dyson vacum cleaners, they're stuffed into almost every ad break I've actually sat through, and they did sound good, but I'm fairly immune to manufacturers' wild claims about their products (although I have a bypass system for products involving bras which make boobs look bigger, and jeans which make bums look smaller!). Anyway, perhaps I'd better get back on the subject in hand..........! The model I have comes in five different colour schemes - grey and yellow, grey purple and yellow, grey and green, purple and green or purple and reddish-pink. Dyson DC14 a powerful sucker!

Advantages: Bagless, powerful, 5 year warranty, great suction.
Disadvantages: No cord auto cord rewind.

...I bought the Dyson, as I wanted a vacuum cleaner, which was capable of coping with cat hair removal and also had a high filtration level for asthma sufferers. Each DC-14 is colour coded to the special facilities it offers. I have the steel gray and purple version, which has the Hepa filter, extra pet hair mini turbine head, adjustable brush for carpets and tiles plus the standard tools. The standard model is yellow and gray, and does not have the adjustable brush. It is suitable only for carpets, not for tiles.
