(+) Very effective cleaner, easy to manouvre, the handle on the pipe (-) The brushes could get tangled easily, messy to empty, pricy (*) (On Ciao since: 09/2001)
(+) Lightweight and easy to carry, hugs the stairs, one hoover copes with all types of floor. (-) Gets hung up in pull along mode and it would be good if you could stick the attachments on the pole to hoover ceilings. (*) (On Ciao since: 07/2000)
(+) Compact, sturdy, no need for bags/filters, excellent suction (-) Small attachments get in your way, plastic parts on tubes break easily, won't sit on stairs (*) (On Ciao since: 07/2000)

Advantages: Very light and very manoeverable. Disadvantages: Bit too light and moves around a lot.
...The Dyson DC25 all Floors vacuum cleaner is a revolution in houshold cleaning. Not only is very good at picking up small pieces of dust and dirt, but the filters are washable which makes it cheaper than some other types of cleaners.
I love the way it manoevers around furniture and as it has a small and low head it can get under the edges of furniture as well as under my radiators. Something my old Dyson couldn't do.
It's very light weight, weighing only 7.5kg so it makes hoovering upstairs that much easier. The only draw back of this weight is that when you are using the extension hose to clean furniture, curtains or to get behind things, i found that if stretched to it;s limit the machine would move around and has caught me in the ankles several times. This is a little annoying as i have had to stand with one foot...
Advantages: Large collecting bin and great suction! Disadvantages: Not so Lightweight, and Power Cord could be longer.
...I bought my Dyson DC25 Animal about a month ago now, and have been very pleasantly surprised by the results.
My old vacuum worked perfectly and I was more than happy with it, but once it started emitting smoke during use, I knew it was time to purchase a replacement.
I did a little internet research and as we have a cat, the animal dyson appeared to be our best option.
I was intrigued by the "ball" by Dyson and went to Curry's to have a closer look.
The handling of the Dyson Ball is very smooth and remarkably easy. Once you've released the locking mechanism that keeps it upright, the vacuum becomes very flexible.
No more pushing and shoving the vacuum around the room or furniture. With a simple turn of the wrist the Dyson goes exactly where you want it to go.
I've found that the suction is incredible. With my previous...
Advantages: Bagless, powerful, 5 year warranty, great suction. Disadvantages: No cord auto cord rewind.
...This vacuum cleaner is the latest addition to my home, after my Vax bagless finally gave up.
The one I am reviewing is the DC14 for carpeted floors, though there are the DC14 animal and all floors versions.
Dyson claim that it never loses suction, and I have to say (at present) is completely true.
The Features:
Root Cyclone Technology.
This means that it maintains powerful constant suction, so that you get deep down clean.
Telescope Reach Wand.
This enables you to reach high places without having to assemble awkward parts. The wand has quick release and expands for instant cleaning.
The vacuum cleaner is approved by the British Allergy Foundation for use where allergy suffers live and work.
NB: BAF is a UK charity with the aim of improving awareness, prevention and treatment of allergies.

...Well now that my reviews for Chicago and Las Vegas have been completed I guess its time to move onto my third stop, don't worry only two more stops after this, in what was an amazing summer. The next leg of my journey took me to the state capital of Washington DC. The roots of American democracy and the political capital of the world. This was actually my last stop before coming back home, however I just felt like writing about this now. I had pre booked my ticket to DC whilst I was in London with American Airlines from Chicago; it set me back about £150, which for a peak time in mid July was not bad what so ever. Having stayed in DC for a week this review will focus more on the sights and places I visited, if I forget to mention the obvious places to see its because I didn't really go their and I therefore don't see the need to mention...
Advantages: upright, powerful, easy to use, good tool storage Disadvantages: no cord rewind, awkward hose for stairs, bulky
...I bought the Dyson, as I wanted a vacuum cleaner, which was capable of coping with cat hair removal and also had a high filtration level for asthma sufferers.
Each DC-14 is colour coded to the special facilities it offers.
I have the steel gray and purple version, which has the Hepa filter, extra pet hair mini turbine head, adjustable brush for carpets and tiles plus the standard tools.
The standard model is yellow and gray, and does not have the adjustable brush. It is suitable only for carpets, not for tiles.
GOOD POINTS
For standard use, it is very effective on carpets, and it is shocking at first on how much dirt has been picked up. It does perform much better than my old vacuum cleaner.
The clear dirt collection section, which allows you to see how much dirt has been collected, may seem gimmicky at first, but is...

...Dyson, ahh, what can I say?
We owe alot to James Dyson the founder of these beautifully engineered machines. This guy has developed products worth over £3bn dollars.
Whenever I thought of Dyson vacuum cleaners 10years ago, I used to think, fancy colours, pricey and a good reputation. Nothings changed then and hence 10 years on I will review the DC22 Allergy.
The first thing you notice about this little machine is how little it actually is. You wonder how the technology actually fits in the machine.
TOOLS
It comes with 2 extra tools - one for cleaning sofas and larger raised areas, and the other a longer tool with a brush attachment for curtains, siderailings and other hard to reach places. With the telescopic holder you can literally hoover the ceiling!
STANDARD TOOL AND HOSE
One of the brilliances...

Review of Dyson DC 22 BABY Animal
Advantages: Great if you do not have long hair Disadvantages: Turbine head traps long hair
...I rate dysons very highly but was extremely disappointed with this new model with the turbine head.
Yes it does pick up fine hairs with ease. However, on the opposite end of the scale the turbine head traps long hair. If you have thick, strong, long black hair like me with a high turnover, it renders the turbine head useless. After a few rooms I have to stop and cut the mass of trapped hair with scissors to prevent the machine overheating.
I have tried turning the turbine head off (which is recommended on wooden floors). However I have carpeted floors and the turbine head is next to useless at picking up hair without the turbine.
I have emailed dyson just now because what I need is the DC23 allergy floor tool. In effect I need to turn my DC23 animal into a DC23 allergy at a considerable expense.
In summary, I wish I had...

Review of Dyson DC 23 Allergy
Advantages: Powerful, doesn't lose suction and a wide range of optional extras Disadvantages: I can't get on with the angled crevice tool
...I started out with the original Dyson DC01 but I was always convinced mine wasn't as powerful as my mums and didn't remove dog hair very well. After buying a new carpet I bought the DC14 Allergy at a special offer price a couple of weeks ago and I wouldn't be without it now. It almost takes the carpet up with it!! And it loves dog hair. It really does make vaccuuming easy. When using the pipe, it almost takes off but I guess you need to actually be holding it to believe it. The only thing I can't get on with is the angled crevice tool. I much preferred the straight one on my original Dyson. You can also buy a mini turbine head to attatch to the pipe (which I will invest in) which makes cleaning stairs even easier. The pipe is long enough to reach to the top of the stairs in one go. All in all, a fantastic cleaner....
Advantages: small, good for small spaces, easy to store Disadvantages: suction not up to par
...I purchased this dyson having owned a dyson for many years, and then my new puppy decided to chew any chewable parts that it had, so opted to buy a new one.
Now initially my mum had went and bought me a miele hoover, which was not an upright or bagless but the suction is apparantly superior, but i prefer an upright and when i tried to vacuum my rugs with the miele, i decided an upright would be the less physically demanding cleaner for me, which is always important to a busy mum and housewife.
I searched the net and found one on cdiscount for £179.99 which was on offer at the time, so i went ahead and bought it and looked forward to receiving it. I chose this one instead of the dc24 as i have a lot of stairs in my house and the smaller size appealled to me as not being as heavy as a larger one, would be easier to take around...
