Advantages: Very Economical and stylish Disadvantages: None
...Wow!! What a excellent little car !?
I have just passed my driving test, so after many months? if not years of scrimping and scraping so that I could save up for a car I went out and bought the first car that I like the look of. And I choose this beauty! (I know that was foolish as I should have done my research but that gut instinct was correct and I'm pleased with my choice.)
The car I choose was a Renault Clio Dynamique (100) 1.5 dCi
Its features:
Standard Renault alloy wheels
Remote central locking
Powered steering
Air bags
ABS brakes
Along with the standard spec of a Renault Clio but ? what sets the Dynamique version apart from others is its sports styling;
It has 15-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, front foglamps and sports seats. Automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers as standard...
Advantages: Cheap to run, quick (for what it is) safe, reliable. Disadvantages: Deaderships issues lack of power.
...the 150hp last generation Williams I have only once suffered brake fade on a track day (bedford which if anyone know it will fade any car brakes quick)
Compaired to the 1.2 petrols its sligtly slow at the top rpm it is much easier at low rpm to drive though and since they have quite heavy clutches it makes for better town driving IMO (not that i do much town driving). Mpg on 1.2 for me is about 30mpg the dci does 50~55. The worst i've seen in 29.9 on a track day on road you'd be challenged to safely do under 37mpg.
Space on the car isn't amazing I'm 6, 5 so there no rear legroof for any passnegers but thats not a problem as I'm 99.999% on my own having only had bad seat passengers a few times. The boot isn't huge but its only a small car. I've had 7 spare wheels in the back of the car with the back seats down and some spare space for tool...
Advantages: good power nice drive and all round decent motor Disadvantages: no alloy wheels
...i bought a clio 1.5 dci 80 expression 5 door, i must say what a little car this is the engine the looks and the power it has for such a small engine is really good. i bought one with 40k on the clock with fsh and it runs like a dream no problems in the cold ever, it handles extremely well. i must say the rear seating room is not enough but it has a big boot so it kinda makes up for it. it has 60k on the clock now and still feels tight and firm every time i get ito the car u feel safe.
i changed the stereo to a jvc head unit put some seat covers on the interior and looks the business now.
was worth the money i spent only 5k for the car, but do need to be looked after as its a diesel, the turbo sounnds quiet good also with a whistle and a slight tttssss off the wastegate.
all round good motor worth the money much recommended if...
...I've had the Dci100 for 5 months and 11,000 miles nowand can describe it best as something of a curate's egg. The low/mid range performance is excellent. It has the same torque as my Clio 172 Cup and better low down pulling power. I wanted a group 5 insurance car for driving tuition with decent performance for advanced/high performance driving teaching. The 100 BHP diesel seemed perfect. It's quick, very economical (53mpg during lessons, over 70 if you cruise). It'll also do 100mph easy on the trips over in Europe I have done - just come back from Nurburgring.
HOWEVER, the steering is awful. The electric rack is dreadful compared to the CUP's steering. The rear is under-damped, making it unsteady if you have to lift off in a turn -as some drivers have a tendancy to - and the reliability ain't so good. The rack makes an awful noise...
Advantages: Great Value at under £500 Disadvantages: Not for high handicappers
...I have been the proud owner of a set of Titleist DCI 962s for two years now. Having been advised by a friend that these were the best clubs on the market I now believe this to be true. The DCI 962 is a superb set of clubs designed for the mid to low handicapped golfer. The clubs are based on the bladed clubs of yesteryear accompanied by the modern perimeter weighted clubs of today. Each club, from the three iron to the sand wedge, is a wonderfully crafted club for the serious golfer.
These clubs have helped me to reduce my handicap by a couple of strokes. I bought the clubs with a handicap of 11. Soon after using them to good effect I won two club competitions back to back and got my handicap down to single figures. This must be partially due to the wonderful set I use. The sweet spot is not as large as it’s...
...I drive a reasonable number of miles in my work (around 3000/month) and have recently had the opportunity to sample several cars in this class. The Laguna has been my least favourite for a number of reasons.
Firstly, I have been driving this particular vehicle for around 5 months. It is a hire car, and I am unsure of the trim level - there are no other markings on the car other than 1.9dCi. It is an up to date model - 05 plate.
My main issue is comfort. I am just over 6ft & I find that the door handle is constantly rubbing my knee. This sounds minor, but when you are in a car for a couple of hours it becomes a huge annoyance. I have tried every adjustment but have yet to find a comfortable seating position. Also note that boot space is less than I expected.
Another area worth mentioning is the sun visor. When this is down, it...
Advantages: Economic, well equipped, good handling, spacious, comfortable, reliable, good value Disadvantages: Very sharp brakes, turbo lag
...I have been driving my Megane since September 2003, and I find it a thoroughly enjoyable car to drive, as do most other people who have driven it.
The Megane that I am doing a review on is the Megane 1.5DCi 80bhp Dynamique 5-door hatchback with climate control and MP3 player in addition. I have test driven a few different models and will give as much information about them as I can.
The Exterior at first glance:
When people first look at this car, they either love it or hate it. The back is very different from conventional (and I use this word carefully) car shapes, and tends to take people by surprise in the first instance. I hated it at first, and then it slowly grew on me. The lights are well set out with the high-mounted brake light being very visible to other drivers. The rear window is vertical and rounded slightly. I...
Advantages: Economy, reliability, comfort Disadvantages: small boot
...I've owned a 1.5DCI Dynamique from new (2004) and have covered 63,000 miles. Had a couple of minor things fixed under warranty, door handle paint and steering column knock(?), despite not buying the car from a Main Dealer they honoured warranty repairs. Cheap Road Tax, Car Insurance, comfortable, lots of toys and economical. The only unusual fault was an intermittent STOP / OIL indication, which lasted a day or two - suspected wet electrics when the car was serviced by a non-Renault garage. At the time I was a bit unnerved by the complexity of the electronic systems, 7 units talking hooked up to diagnostics, but it settled down. That was 6,000 miles ago though. Interestingly the stalling of the rear wash wipe (common) is a s/w fault, in my case I didn't bother mentioning this until the STOP light problem, but it could have beenfixed...
Advantages: New technology DCi engine. Disadvantages: Rear legroom tight.
...The Clio DYnamique DCi 80 is a formidable opponent to other superminis in the same class. The Clio is such a well rounded package, the new DCi engine is years ahead of anything else on the market offering considerable economy without any loss of performance. In fact, the DCi 80 is not far off as quick to drive as my old 306, which is an accolade I hate to have to admit!
So far, I've managed the following figures in my Clio DCi80 Dynamique, 72mpg at 80mph on the motorway. 63mpg at 60mph on country roads and 56mpg around town. I do not drive slowly either, the car's performance is amazing, the ride is solid, smooth responsive, corners are taken flat without understeer touch the juice pedal and Clio will pull its weight without question. Overtaking is always a surprise as the engine is just so quiet, no panic or ear defenders to be seen...
Advantages: Smooth, comfortable drive. Disadvantages: Hubby complains it is not a turbo diesel!
...This time last year we purchased a 1 year old, ex demonstration Renault Scenic 1.9 Dci, luxury version with leather seats etc. (Monaco model)
Let me warn you in advance: Once you have a scenic, there is no way back! It has changed the way in which we look at cars as any other regular car suddenly seems cramped and uncomfortable. It is somewhat Tardis like - appearing compact from the outside but is roomy inside.
The Scenic has a typical French ride - very smooth and comfortable. The seating position is upright with a good view over other (or should I say, inferior?) cars. The front seats are fully adjustable for height and distance from front. In addition, the drivers seat also has an adjustable lumbar support. The steering wheel is also adjustable, making the chance that you find a good position very high!
In the rear...
