Advantages: Cheap, feature-packed, responsive and great sounding; perfect for many standard professional needs and beginners who want to splash out. DD's have been manufactured for atleast a decade or so
Disadvantages: No match for an acoustic kit or VDrums, toyish looking, some minor irregularities in pad response and limitations to the in-built recording feature

...It's been a while since I've written a review, and the DD55 is one such surprising product worthy of a praising one as it's one that I would like to discuss with many people, without boring the uninterested. Thus I'm sparked to write. Digital percussion (or electronic drum kits, to be less snobby) has existed in many forms in the last few decades, most notably in late disco and early eighties pop which didn't do much for the longevity of it. The sounds were often rather laughably camp and unresponsive compared to their age-old acoustic counterparts. They were fancy executive toys (which many still are) relegated to attics. Review of Yamaha DD55

Behringer DD400 Digital Delay , I hope you will 'Echo' my view

Advantages: Good value for money good range of effects.
Disadvantages: The plastic case seems to be not very robust, but is is quite solid

.... Some reviews I have read have slated Behringer pedals for their plastic construction but I would take issue with this view, the casings are thickly cast and very solid. You can buy more robust pedals with die cast casings which are both heavy and expensive. Unless you want to kick them around, hurl them from hotel windows or throw them beneath the wheels of a bus I don't think there is a problem with durability. I wouldn't dream of throwing my Gibson Les Paul around carelessly, neither would I treat my pedals in a cavalier fashion. For the price, around £24, I couldn't find another make of pedal to match the DD400....

Boss DD5 Digital Delay

Advantages: excellent effect range
Disadvantages: expensive new/you will need a power supply

...I had been searching for the right delay pedal for a few years and i had read a lot of good press about the Boss DD5. My Friend had an earlier version (DD2 or 3) and as i liked the range of effects on that peddle i took a gamble and purchased a DD5. I managed to purchase a second hand DD5 (this cost me £95). I believe that new they are around £150 mark, so they aint cheap that's for sure. The good news is that it is an absolute beauty. Firstly, the sheer amount of variations of delay is incredible. From straight forward delay variations to backwards loops to an ability to press and hold the footpedal and record a phrase which is then repeated for`ever whilst you play something neat over the top of it. You can achieve the most amazing effects simply by tweeking the various dials a few degrees here and there. The quality...

...'somebody' with 'the viewers' and you have Daisy Dukes role to a tee, though it does have to be said that she shows no more flesh than Catherine Bach, the original DD, did in the TV series. She looks good and but has so little to do that her character isn't developed ion any way at all other than to be eye candy. Burt Reynolds plays Boss Hogg with a knowing smile and glint in his eye. He is having a ball in this film and as lightweight comedy is what he is best at he stands head ands shoulders above the main cast. This is a wonderful performance from a fine actor. Then you have Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse, he is a big loss as he spends most of his on screen time cracking pathetic one liners, but that is the scripts fault not his. Gilera 50cc motor scooter

Advantages: Cheap running costs, fun to ride
Disadvantages: A bit cold in Winter

...I bought my Gilera Runner DD 50cc motor scooter just over a year now and have been pleasantly surprised with it. I bought it to mainly use when the car wasn't available but have found myself using it more and more recently. I know you see a lot of scooters on the roads these days - many of which seem to be holding the traffic up but not mine. It will go comfortably at 50mph and a bit faster if needed which is an ideal speed for travelling back and forth to work. The petrol costs are really good and insurance is ok. As long as you have a full motor vehicle licence you don't even need to do any bike training. An excellent alternative to the motor vehicle for short journeys to work....
