Corsair DDR2 6400C4 800mhz 2GB (2x1GB pair)

Advantages: Excellent speeds, reliable, very cheap, decent overclocking potential

I'm going to just go ahead and state it right at the beginning - this is some excellent memory. It's fast (800mhz), it has lower timings (4-4-4-12), it's reliable, and it's very cheap. You can pick the 2GB set of two modules up from £35 anywhere now, which is a phenomenally low price. That's really the hallmark of this product - low price, high quality. At the moment, unless you're running games in Windows Vista, there's really no need to have 4GB of memory; even the most demanding game you can run won't use more than 2GB RAM. Advantages: Cheap for what it is

...GEIL stands for Golden Empire Industries Limited. They use Samsung RAM that they repackage and test for you. There are only three companies in the whole world that make RAM and lots that repackage it. GEIL is one of them. You can get this type of RAM in 533Mhz form all the way up to 1000MHz form, and it seems excellent. I'm currently using two of these 1Gb sets and have found that they are both responsive and cool. They do not overheat like some RAMs and came well packaged and well presented. cheap and cheerful

Advantages: heat spreaders keep ram cool, dual channel, nice performance.
Disadvantages: some users may find 667mhz lacking performance.

...I bought this ram to accompany a pc build that i was working on, 2gb of it so that i could comfortably play some games and keep the computer running programs and booting up reasonably quick. Haven't got any problems with them really, they are 667mhz which is the slowest of the ddr2 speeds but i feel it is just fine to run the latest games, movie editing and converting ect at a comfortable rate. I am on windows xp which helps i suppose becuase someone on vista may want to choose to faster ram eg 800mhz, because vista really requires more juice to cope with the operating system and the programs and applications over the top. The heat spreaders are also a nice supprise too. this means users can monitor there ram and keep them cool and stable and also allows them to comfortably do some overclocking, users should only do this if they know...
