Disadvantages: some of the other guests seem to think their a bit special!

...be booked over the hotel groups website, by calling a central reservations number, by calling the hotel directly and most likely through your locale travel agents alothough i wouldn't recommend this as it will work out much more expensive that contacting the hotel directly. I would definatly recommend a visit to this hotel especially for a special occassion, the staff are always friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile, for example several times they've made food for me not on the menu just because i enquired as to whether they did do it or not. Also if you have an american express card you can often get deals on buy one get one night free in de vere hotels, and sometimes a free upgrade (the reason i got junior suites both time!)...

De Vere hotel in the centre of Cambridge!

Advantages: Great location, nice rooms, friendly
Disadvantages: Parking charge, busy area

...My husband and I stayed here a year or so ago, he took me for a surprise weekend away and I was very impressed with the hotel. He firstly choose De vere's as they are known to have very nice, luxury hotels at quite good prices in good locations. This location was fantastic. At first though I must admit I was a bit disappointed because looking at the photograph of the hotel you expect it to have a lovely huge green area in front of it but that is actually the park next to the hotel. The hotel is situated right in the town and not really surrounded by green area at all as the photo suggests but never mind, it did not put us off. The location like I said was in town, just a short walk down the road (Regent Street) to all the shops and restaurants so after a great day sightseeing etc it did not take long to get back "home". A**** Carden Park, De Vere should be proud!

Advantages: Many! Staff, facilities, grounds, rooms!
Disadvantages: None!

...Me and my girlfriend went to stay in De Vere Carden Park in February to celebrate Valentines Day. The hotel is very easy to find and directions are not difficult. When you drive in through the gate the first impressions are brilliant, its about a mile drive through the gate before you reach the hotel and this is a lovely drive. The hotel sits on the top of a hill and both the view upto the hotel and down from the hotel is amazing! We stopped at the front of the hotel and the conceirge took my car keys, brought our bags in and parked my car (this was a sign of things to come). De-lightful and stunning venue!

Advantages: Excellent service, beautiful grounds, superb accommodation
Disadvantages: Not close to public transport access

One of our friends had the Thetford pork loin, one had the organic salmon, and three of us opted for the carvery which on weekends you had to have two courses, but given the selection of starters and desserts was no real trial! - We naturally went for the dessert option! De Verre You Either Love It Or Hate It

Advantages: Fantastic leisure facilities, friendly staff and good customer service.
Disadvantages: Very pricey, lots of business men and not enough air conditioning.

DES VERE'Y SCRUMPTIOUSLY ROMANTIC!!

Advantages: Close to the M4, free parking on site, superb leisure facilities, spacious comfortable rooms

The De Vere website www.devere.co.uk has lots of information on the hotel and also some special offers. It is located on the Sea Front in close proximity to all of Brighton's major attractions. The hotel has approximately 200 rooms, ranging from singles, to doubles to doubles with sea views to deluxe doubles with seaviews to suites. Prices range from £80 for a single B & B to £250 B &B for a sea view deluxe to £530 for a suite. Not the best but well worth a mention

Advantages: lovely conservatory breakfast room

...The De Vere Hotels are a rather lovely "chain" of hotels which can be found all over the UK. They are not your cheapest brand of hotel prices range from approx £110 right up to £400 or so per night. Deals can be found all over the place though, I found my deal at lastminute which was £100 for b&b. The Hotel we stayed at was The De Vere in Southampton which was okay to look at but nothing special (basically a big brick building!) It has a massive conservatory on the end of it which is where breakfast is eaten. I have to say that it was the nicest breakfast I have had in a UK hotel with a wonderful variety of foods to eat which included, porridge, cereal, toast, muffins, pastries and a cooked breakfast.
