De Vere hotel in the centre of Cambridge!
Advantages: Great location, nice rooms, friendly
Disadvantages: Parking charge, busy area
...My husband and I stayed here a year or so ago, he took me for a surprise weekend away and I was very impressed with the hotel.
He firstly choose De vere's as they are known to have very nice, luxury hotels at quite good prices in good locations.
This location was fantastic. At first though I must admit I was a bit disappointed because looking at the photograph of the hotel you expect it to have a lovely huge green area in front of it but that is actually the park next to the hotel. The hotel is situated right in the town and not really surrounded by green area at all as the photo suggests but never mind, it did not put us off. The location like I said was in town, just a short walk down the road (Regent Street) to all the shops and restaurants so after a great day sightseeing etc it did not take long to get back "home".
The rooms...

De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton
Advantages: Fantastic rooms, friendly staff, great location
Disadvantages: some of the other guests seem to think their a bit special!
...be booked over the hotel groups website, by calling a central reservations number, by calling the hotel directly and most likely through your locale travel agents alothough i wouldn't recommend this as it will work out much more expensive that contacting the hotel directly.
I would definatly recommend a visit to this hotel especially for a special occassion, the staff are always friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile, for example several times they've made food for me not on the menu just because i enquired as to whether they did do it or not. Also if you have an american express card you can often get deals on buy one get one night free in de vere hotels, and sometimes a free upgrade (the reason i got junior suites both time!)...

De-lightful and stunning venue!
Advantages: Excellent service, beautiful grounds, superb accommodation
Disadvantages: Not close to public transport access
...excellent. One of our friends had the Thetford pork loin, one had the organic salmon, and three of us opted for the carvery which on weekends you had to have two courses, but given the selection of starters and desserts was no real trial! - We naturally went for the dessert option! We also had drinks and a couple bottles of wine - No-one in our group could fault the quality and service, especially when the member of waiting staff overheard us wishing our friend happy birthday - She asked if we would like some balloons - and a few minutes later came back with a bunch all ribboned and weighted! You can see the full selection of menus offered at Dunston Hall if you go to the De Vere website. After lunch we took and gentle stroll in the grounds, and were able to view parts of the golf course that are part of the complex.
As we were only...

A**** Carden Park, De Vere should be proud!
Advantages: Many! Staff, facilities, grounds, rooms!
Disadvantages: None!
...Me and my girlfriend went to stay in De Vere Carden Park in February to celebrate Valentines Day.
The hotel is very easy to find and directions are not difficult.
When you drive in through the gate the first impressions are brilliant, its about a mile drive through the gate before you reach the hotel and this is a lovely drive. The hotel sits on the top of a hill and both the view upto the hotel and down from the hotel is amazing!
We stopped at the front of the hotel and the conceirge took my car keys, brought our bags in and parked my car (this was a sign of things to come).
When we arrived at reception they were very helpful, offering us extra services. There's even an old style iced water machine on the reception desk.
The porter then took us to our rooms and carried our bags.
The grounds in the close vicinity to...

De Verre You Either Love It Or Hate It
Advantages: Fantastic leisure facilities, friendly staff and good customer service.
Disadvantages: Very pricey, lots of business men and not enough air conditioning.
...The De Verre Herons Reach is a hotel that stands situated opposite Stanley Park in Blackpool. Part of the De Vere Group of hotels it is set in 236 acres of the Flyde coast countryside. The hotel is located very close to Blackpool Zoo and within a ten minute drive of Blackpool's south promenade and the Pleasure beach. Located 2 miles from Blackpool and 10 minutes from Blackpool Airport.
Looking at the hotel it is elegant and luxurious and for a 4 star premier hotel it should be. Each hotel provides something unique to guests and this hotel is not going to disappoint you. There are many facilities that the hotel offers and the beauty it is set in is awesome. One needs to remind themselves that they are actually in Blackpool. A town known for it's trashy appearance and night clubs. The De Verre is something different altogether...

DES VERE'Y SCRUMPTIOUSLY ROMANTIC!!
Advantages: Close to the M4, free parking on site, superb leisure facilities, spacious comfortable rooms
Disadvantages: Poor room lighting - I forgot my swimming costume :(
...OK - poor show on the title - sorry!!
A late finish in London followed by an early start in Swindon meant an overnight stop en-route back home. Not a city I am familiar with, I did know that prices seemed generally high, and therefore was a little worried about our destination.
A few phone calls later, and I had secured a room at the De Vere Hotel, Swindon. Part of the De Vere chain (who also own and run the Village Hotel chain) for some reason I had an underlying belief that many of the outlets were, shall we say tired, so I was pleasantly surprised, on arrival, to find a well packed car-park, and a modern looking pleasant hotel.
BOOKING
This room was booked through a third party, however, you can book on De Vere's own website at www.devereonline.co.uk - or of course, you can reserve...

Where's The Wifi, Where's The playstation
Advantages: Reasonably priced, centrally located accommodation
Disadvantages: Not everything that was offered online was available
...If it came down to location The Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth has the location to die for, part of the prestigious De Vere group the Royal Bath is situated on Bournemouth?s sea front, just a few yards from the beach, pier, park and Oceanarium. This grand looking hotel offers a fair bit of promise externally as it dominates a large portion of the sea front.
Our arrival was different to say the least, as we stepped in the door we were greeted by a selection of guests who were incredibly overdressed leading me to believe initially I was far too common to be gracing the hotel with my rather dowdy presence. A double take of the rather grand looking double staircase pretty much re-iterated that fact. Luckily enough human nature quickly showed me I was very much in the right place, the reception desk was manned by four staff one of which...

A truly Grand Hotel
Advantages: Almost Everything about the hotel
Disadvantages: The Cost
...The De Vere Grand hotel Brighton is an impressive hotel, part of the De Vere chain of over 25 luxury hotels. The De Vere website www.devere.co.uk has lots of information on the hotel and also some special offers. It is located on the Sea Front in close proximity to all of Brighton's major attractions.
The hotel has approximately 200 rooms, ranging from singles, to doubles to doubles with sea views to deluxe doubles with seaviews to suites. Prices range from £80 for a single B & B to £250 B &B for a sea view deluxe to £530 for a suite. I stayed in a Sea view deluxe, checking in on a Saturday and leaving after lunch on the following Sunday. I ate in the hotel for breakfast and Sunday lunch.
The Hotel looks Grand when you arrive. It is a really handsome building both internally and externally. Reception was impresive, as indeed were...

COOL, CALM AND COLLECTED - WHAT, IN BLACKPOOL?
Advantages: A lovely peaceful setting within a ten minute drive of Blackpool town centre.
Disadvantages: No dedicated childrens activities
...members as well as hotel guests and can get very busy.
We only used the pool area once and we were very impressed both by the size of the pool and the cleanliness of the area. After conferring with hubby I can confirm that both ladies and gents changing and showering areas at the pool are well appointed and clean.
We paid £357.00 per couple for our three night break - this offer was advertised on the hotel's website and equates at £59.50 per person per night.
Excellent value especially as the Bistro Menu displays a cost of £26.50 for a three course evening meal.
