One of those tools that any serious gardener will find that they would be lost without. It is brilliant for planting lots of perennials. Usually the choice is between a border spade and a hand trowel. The one is too heavy and clumsy, the other too insubstantial and gives you a sore wrist. The handspade is used with two hands which is ideal when you are on your hands and knees: power is directed effortlessly and the small head means that you can work in tight corners. The Dutch are rightly regarded as makers of the finest gardening tools. De Wit have been around longer than anyone. They started in 1898 and the 4th generation of De Wits are now in charge of the business; one is a trained wood turner, the other trained as a blacksmith. De Wit forge their tools from carbon steel in the traditional way. Carbon Steel is naturally tougher than stainless steel and is not prone to metal fatigue. De Wit also burnish their steel. This not only helps to protect it for longer but gives it a patin ... less

We believe that the Spork is destined to become one of the must-have garden tools and will become an essential part of every gardener's tool collection. In October 2008 it was voted 'Testers' favourite' by 'Which' Gardening' magazine. In the 'Which' Gardening' trial the Spork was pitched against 9 other border tools by a team of professional gardeners. The trial was conducted over 4 weeks and all tools were assessed for a range of tasks: loosening and turning soil, clearing weeds and planting perennials and shrubs. Seven of the eight Which' testers would happily buy a Spork and 3 would even swap their conventional spade for one. The serrated cutting edge was sharp and easily cut through soil and small roots. The Spork is good for digging, planting and turf edging. ''It's an ideal compromise between a spade and a fork -I would definitely buy one' said one tester. "It's great for clay/loam soils, good for digging and turning over soil, and for breaking up compacted ground," said another ... less

- Unique all in one cut & rake action - For close to the ground removal of saplings & large weeds - Weed cutting on gravel paths - Easy clearance of overgrown areas - Part of a unique and exclusive collection from De Wit. - Cut and clear away nettles and brambles etc. in one stroke with this clever clog free cutting rake. - Great in overgrown gardens and allotments. This not only helps to protect it for longer but gives it a patina that blackens it - just like traditional English tools from the Edwardian era.All De Wit tools have turned hardwood handles of oiled Ash. Ash is not only very strong but resists shock better than woods like oak or beech, which is why it was traditionally used for Axe handles. The result is a beautiful tool to hold in the hand but ru ... less

Get City Centre Hotel, in ROME!
Advantages: Great clean hotel, close to the train station and the centre of Rome
Disadvantages: Not very friendly to young couples
...Alex, and said look you can pick a hotel, flights and everything ? I wasn?t in university and I was happy to do whatever he decided. We?d originally planned to go over our anniversary in September but due to a surprise birthday present for me, we ended up going in August, so this really was the hottest time we could have gone to Rome. Regardless though it was a lovely break!

When in Rome, stay at Hotel Esposizione.
Advantages: Great location for my needs; Clean; Friendly; Safe
Disadvantages: Basic English (not always disadvantage); Small Lift
...needed and wanted.
Getting to the Hotel
After booking and paying ten per cent for the hotel, the excitement began. It was just a shame that we had to take two flights to get there because the turbulence on the second flight was horrible! Anyway, before arriving at Ciampino airport (there is also Fiumicino Airport which is equally as far away from Rome) we wanted to arrange a taxi to take us...

Hotel Daniela in Rome
Advantages: very friendly staff, quiet hotelroom, ok location
Disadvantages: ok breakfast, rooftop was dissapointing
...A few years ago we went to Rome in the summer and we stayed at the Hotel Daniela. A hotel close to the Coliseum and the Termini station, according to their website.
Location of the hotel
The website indicated that Daniela Hotel is near the Termini Station and the Coliseum. In my experience it was 15 minutes walking to the Termini station and about 20 minutes walking towards...
