One of those tools that any serious gardener will find that they would be lost without. It is brilliant for planting lots of perennials. Usually the choice is between a border spade and a hand trowel. The one is too heavy and clumsy, the other too insubstantial and gives you a sore wrist. The handspade is used with two hands which is ideal when you are on your hands and knees: power is directed effortlessly and the small head means that you can work in tight corners. The Dutch are rightly regarded as makers of the finest gardening tools. De Wit have been around longer than anyone. They started in 1898 and the 4th generation of De Wits are now in charge of the business; one is a trained wood turner, the other trained as a blacksmith. De Wit forge their tools from carbon steel in the traditional way. Carbon Steel is naturally tougher than stainless steel and is not prone to metal fatigue. De Wit also burnish their steel. This not only helps to protect it for longer but gives it a patin ... less

We believe that the Spork is destined to become one of the must-have garden tools and will become an essential part of every gardener's tool collection. In October 2008 it was voted 'Testers' favourite' by 'Which' Gardening' magazine. In the 'Which' Gardening' trial the Spork was pitched against 9 other border tools by a team of professional gardeners. The trial was conducted over 4 weeks and all tools were assessed for a range of tasks: loosening and turning soil, clearing weeds and planting perennials and shrubs. Seven of the eight Which' testers would happily buy a Spork and 3 would even swap their conventional spade for one. The serrated cutting edge was sharp and easily cut through soil and small roots. The Spork is good for digging, planting and turf edging. ''It's an ideal compromise between a spade and a fork -I would definitely buy one' said one tester. "It's great for clay/loam soils, good for digging and turning over soil, and for breaking up compacted ground," said another ... less

This not only helps to protect it for longer but gives it a patina that blackens it - just like traditional English tools from the Edwardian era.All De Wit tools have turned hardwood handles of oiled Ash. Ash is not only very strong but resists shock better than woods like oak or beech, which is why it was traditionally used for Axe handles. The result is a beautiful tool to hold in the hand but ru ... less

Casa Mia - My Favourite Restaurant In Leeds!
Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: No Childs Menu - INFORMATION UPDATED!
...'s greatest indulgences, and I believe that finding a fantastic restaurant you can visit again and again is important. Here in Leeds there are many different restaurants that you could visit, however many of them are hidden away and not very well known, and I love it when I discover them! I like all different types of food, but when I eat out my favourite is either Chinese or Italian. Casa Mia is an Italian...

A chain restaurant to avoid - especially if your vegetarian!
Advantages: Quick service
Disadvantages: Expensive, Cant cope with special dietary needs
...change it.
My conclusion of this restaurant is if you want a straight forward, sit down, no personal service, no allergy sufferers or special dietary needs then great. Otherwise go somewhere else, they cannot cater for anything different! Plus it is over priced and there are some much better tapas bars in Leeds areas....

...THE COCKPIT - LEEDS
INTRODUCTION
I moved to Leeds around 3 ½ years ago to join Leeds University and it was during fresher?s week that I discovered The Cockpit which I have loved going to ever since. The club was formally known as The Cock of the North before being opened in 1994 as The Cockpit. The Cockpit is a live music and club venue in the middle...
