One of those tools that any serious gardener will find that they would be lost without.It is brilliant for planting lots of perennials. Usually the choice is between a border spade and a hand trowel. The one is too heavy and clumsy, the other too insubstantial and gives you a sore wrist. The handspade is used with two hands which is ideal when you are on your hands and knees: power is directed effortlessly and the small head means that you can work in tight corners. The Dutch are rightly regarded as makers of the finest gardening tools. De Wit have been around longer than anyone. They started in 1898 and the 4th generation of De Wits are now in charge of the business; one is a trained wood turner, the other trained as a blacksmith. High Culture in Haarlem - the Frans Hals Museum
Advantages: Easy to get to, interesting building, a marvellous art collection
Disadvantages: Partly closed in 2011
..., although we only had a couple of hours to spend there, I was looking forward to visiting the Frans Hals museum in Haarlem.
Investing just over an hour of our brief stay in Haarlem turned out to be a great move because the museum not only contains some wonderful paintings by Hals and some of his contemporaries, it is housed in one of the many 'hofjes' for which Haarlem is noted, and it is a brilliant...

Disadvantages: Quite small so worth booking ahead for popular nights

If you are even in the area for the night then this place is well worth a visit, I will certainly be back the next time I stay in Haarlem....
