Deal?

Advantages: entertaining viewing
Disadvantages: the show is dull once the contestant has dealt

...Deal or No Deal is one of the most popular game shows on television. A channel four production and presented by Noel Edmonds the show involves twenty two contestants, only one of which can play during an episode. At the start of the show a contestant is selected at random to become that day's player. The player then takes their box to the table in the middle of the studio and assumes their seat in the playing arena. After a brief introductory chat with Noel they begin to play the game. The aim of the game is to go away with the highest sum of money possible, which is £250,000. This is achieved by opening firstly five of the boxes assigned numbers 1 -20 around the studio to reveal monetary values inside which obviously can't be inside the contestants box (east wing and west wing). When they have done this the banker makes them...

Review of Deal Or No Deal

deal or no deal

Advantages: great show
Disadvantages: none

...Deal or no deal is my favorite game show, it is currently on channel 4 early in the evening or late in the afternoon for some, i love watching this and find it very entertaining. The show is presented by Noel Edmonds and is filmed in Bristol. The show starts with 22 contestants choosing randomly one of 22 boxes that all have a money value inside but have been sealed previous to this so no one has any idea what is in there box. One of the 22 contestants is selected to play deal or no deal where they have to play through rounds selecting boxes to be opened in an attempt to eliminate the low numbers listed in blue and keep the high numbers hopefully winning the top prize of £250,000 and not going home with the 1p although there are more people in the 1p club than have won the big prize. In the first round the player gets to...

Review of Deal Or No Deal

Deal or no Deal

Advantages: Great show
Disadvantages: Bad host

...Deal or no deal is a TV gameshow on channel 4. It is hosted by Noel Edmonds. The rules 22 people are featured in each game but only one will play for cash. Each episode one of the twenty two people is chosen to play the game. The others stay there until they are chosen to play. Once someone has played, they leave and one new person is added to the remaining twenty one for the next episode. Each person chooses a box, numbered one to twenty two at random before the game starts. The boxes each contain a card with a cash value of the box wrote on it. The person who is chosen takes their box to a chair opposite all of the other people. They then choose boxes and find out how much they are worth. They win the amount of money that is in the last box. (Their own) However, every few boxes the player recieves a phone call from...

Review of Deal Or No Deal

Deal Or No Deal? I would no deal to the end!

Advantages: Great show, good format.
Disadvantages: Can become a bit repetitive

...Deal Or No Deal is now shown 6 times a week on Channel 4 and repeats are readily available online and on More 4 during the day and early evening at various times. The format of the gameshow is that there are 22 players with 22 identical sealed boxes, each containing a cash amount from 1p up to £250,000. Each day a player is selected 'at random' to play along and open up those boxes to find some cash amounts. Each player has selected their own box at random and then the player who is selected 'at random' by the computer comes up to the centre of the room and is seated on a little round table along with the box they selected and sometimes players will have good luck charms or photographs etc and there is always a little story behind what they have. Deal or No Deal is hosted by Noel Edmunds (Noel's House Party, Are You Smarter Than...

Review of Deal Or No Deal

Deal or No Deal

Advantages: Nice, little game to pass the time
Disadvantages: You win FAKE money! What's the point in that?

...=How to play Well, for the whole game it sees you doing what people do on the actual television show. Deal or No Deal is not about skill. But luck. Of course, you have to chose different numbered boxes at random and when you chose your box, a person will open that box and that box will contain a certain amount of money. Say if that box contained £1, you will LOSE £1. If it had the jackpot £250,000 inside - you will LOSE that $250,000. As I said, it's just luck. Then there is the Banker. Every so often the banker will call you on a red phone and gives you an offer - like. £15,000. And will ask you a question. Deal or No Deal? You chose if you want it or not and say your answer. The offer will vary on how much money you have available on the screen. You WIN the jackpot £250,000 if it is the only offer standing last in the game. Simple...

Deal Or No Deal For All The Family

Advantages: Quick gameplay, Fairly Decent Graphics, Different Games Available
Disadvantages: I Think You Will Tire Of It Fairly Quickly

...My wife and I are both big Deal Or No Deal fans, and we are avid watchers of the quiz show. We tried the Deal Or No Deal DVD game last christmas, and, like most people I have spoken to about it, found it to be far too slow. When my wife realised they had brought out a version for the Nintendo Wii she put it on her christmas list! When I discovered it on her list I decided it would be a very good buy as I fancied it myself also! Loading The Game When you insert the disc and click on the Deal Or No Deal icon, you are met with a red box from the show and the familiar theme tune, you can then create a new profile for yourself which I will cover later. Once you have created a profile it will appear on this page and you will be able to click on your name to go into the game. The next menu you are met with gives you five choices; new...

Review of Deal Or No Deal: The Banker Is Back (Wii)

Deal or No Deal

Advantages: realistic like the tv show
Disadvantages: can get boring and take too long to play

...I was doing some Christmas shopping in Woolworths last week and spotted the Deal or No Deal Interactive DVD for £13.97 and bought it. We watch Deal or No Deal on channel 4 a few times a week and quite enjoy the programme. When I brought the DVD home and put all of the Christmas presents away me and my partner had a turn each playing the game to see if we could beat Mr Banker and take all of his money. The Interactive DVD is exactly like the TV programme and has the same theme tune, rules, presenter, and question "Deal or No Deal?" The interactive DVD didn't have any rules or instructions with it, but it is really easy to play and operate because you use the arrow keys on your DVD player's remote control. You can also play the DVD game on your PC and use your mouse to select the boxes etc. Because the interactive DVD doesn...

Review of Deal Or No Deal 1 (DVDi)

Now that's the real deal!

Advantages: Some fantastic auction moments.
Disadvantages: David Dickinson....

...Dickinson's Real Deal is hosted by David Dickinson who is an 'expert' in the antiques industry. Members of the public are invited to come to a particular auction room or place of public interest and they will bring their treasured possessions along with them. There are a few different experts on the panel, one of whom will look at the items on offer and then make an offer to purchase the product. The member of the public can then haggle to try and get more money, choose to take the offer or just decide to take the item to auction and see how they get on there instead. David Dickinson will be standing by and if he feels that people are getting short changed or if the independent valuer thinks that the item is worth more or less than David will step in and give the panellist and the member of the public his opinion on whether the cash...

22 PEOPLE, 22 BOXES, 1 QUESTION - DEAL OR NO DEAL?

Advantages: VIEWER FEELS INVOLVED & HAS EMPATHY FOR PLAYER, UNIQUE GAME
Disadvantages: GIVE ME MORE

...It was quite by accident that I first encountered Deal or No Deal, hosted by that charm magnet that we all know and love - Noel Edmonds. It was my daughter's tea-time feed and as we sat down on the sofa to watch yet another round of C-Beebies to amuse her whilst she ate - she decided to play with the remote, and unwittingly flicked over to Channel 4, where Noel was hosting Deal or No Deal and the rest is history. It took me a couple of shows to get into it, but now I love it so much that I find myself recording it if I know Caitlin is in a whingy mood - those of you with youngsters will identify with the subtitles button on your remote ... you see whats on tv, but can you hell hear it sometimes! Deal or No Deal (herein referred to a DOND) is brought to us by Endemol - who are also responsible for the hugely successful Big Brother...

Review of Deal Or No Deal

Deal or no Deal for the DS

Advantages: Sound Effects from the real shows
Disadvantages: boring, no skill involved

...Deal or No Deal Unfortunately I was not impressed with this game, perhaps because there is no skill really needed to play a game where you open boxes to win money. I think the only reason why this show works is because you can win decent sums of money, now ofcourse in the game you cannot win money. So what are you playing for? This game is completed in a matter of 5 minutes if that, I think the excitement of gambling with the banker looses its appeal when there is no money involved. When the banker offers you an offer of say £10,000, and you have £100,000 and £250.00 left, you are not gambling with real money, so why should'nt you go all the way and play on, when your not really loosing or winning anything. This is why I feel this game does not work. It's definately not worth the money and even if you are a deal or no...
