The Husband by Dean Koontz

Advantages: fast paced, great read, imaginative, interesting characters and plot
Disadvantages: it's over too quick!

...This is a fantastic read, one of my favourite Dean Koontz books and possibly even one of my favourite thriller books of all time. An ordinary guy, Mitch Rafferty, gets a call from his wife whilst he is at work, she has been abducted and her kidnappers demand a two million dollar ransom for her safe return, but of course Mitch does not have that kind of money, however the kidnappers know a place where he can get it. Through desperation of trying to get his loved one back Mitch is lead on an unforgettable journey. This novel is so fast paced that you can't stop yourself from read more and more, Mitch's character is so endearing and you instantly feel sympathy for him, allowing you to relate better to this book than to many other thrillers. Watch out Rock Band, Guitar Hero is back.

Advantages: Gameplay now on a par with the Rock Band series. Excellent feature set on the Wii.
Disadvantages: Very expensive if you've not already got the instruments. Some songs are a bit obscure.

... Introduction The original Guitar Hero was one of the landmarks in the rhythm game genre; it moved away from merely tapping out a beat to giving you a controller that resembled a real guitar. Sure, it's nothing like playing a real guitar, but then again most people can't just pick one up and sound just like Hendix or Clapton. My little bundle of joy arrived through my letter box yesterday morning (the day after the release date) delivered from HMV.com with free delivery, totalling £26.99 (with student discount). In the box, you get the add-on part with the coloured buttons that you insert into the GameBoy Advance slot on your DS, a seperate attachement that you have to use if you are using an old style DS, a plectrum stylus, the game catridge, a game case, two sticker sheets and the instructions - though don't ask me what they say, I figured I would work everything out along the way. Rock out with Guitar Hero III, wirelessly.

Advantages: Enjoyable, Easy to learn, Play on multiple levels, hours of play time.
Disadvantages: That you must complete a certain level to acess some songs.

...Years ago my friend, Henri, introduced me to Guitar Hero and I was hooked. Unfortunatally I only had a PC so I had just admire Guitar Hero from afar. Then when my house bought a Wii I just new that I had to get Guitar Hero and I was even luckier because HMV was selling it for £35 compared to the original and expensive £70. I have also seen it in CEX (The second hand electronic store), but it was expensive there as well at £60. For my £35 pounds I got: 1x Wireless Guitar, 1X Wii Game Disc (Legends of rock), 1X sheet of stickers to personalise the guitar. "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" is a sequeal in the Guitar Hero (GH) series. Others include GH Metallica, GH ... The game disc is compatible with Guitar Hero Wii Guitars and so could be purchased separatly as just an addition to your GH collection. The best place to buy the game...

Dean Koontz - Icebound

Advantages: Good thriller that's worth a read
Disadvantages: Not his usual horror story

...I got this book from my local library as i spend quite a bit of time travelling on the train now and need something to do, and books are soooooo expensive when you read them in like two days. So whilst browsing the shelfs in the library i'm looking at the Koontz books and most of them i've read, but not this one so i get it on loan. This book was not what i was expecting and is totally different to what i know and respect Dean koontz for. I like Dean koontz for his horror stories that make Steven Kings look weak, but are not as good as Richard Laymon (if you haven't read any of his, do so you will not be disappointed!!!), however this book is totally different but not in a bad way. My heart belongs to him, once more! Dean Koontz Relentless

Advantages: Pace, characters, thrill.
Disadvantages: Not long enough

...I have always been a Koontz fan. I read my first novel at nine years old, and have read everything in print, from this bestselling novelist. However in recent years I have felt his work has lacked heart, direction, and 'meat'. The stories were always exciting and fast paced, don't get me wrong, but they seemed so formulaic. It was as if he had re-read some of his earlier work and morphed them into one book, with no depth to the characters (unusual for Dean) and I have to admit, after reading 'Your heart Belongs to Me' I began to question whether it was time for Dean to put down his well used pen and retire in the Californian sunshine. Guitar Hero 3

Advantages: Ok game if you havent play the two other Guitar Hero Games
Disadvantages: The game has become more commercialised

...Guitar Hero 3 is a decent game with new play modes and the new guitar hero battles added in the career play mode, however I think that this game isnt as good as Guitar Hero 1 and 2 as it seems to have sold out and changed up a few things to make it a more popular game. Guitar Hero 3 is easier to play in my opinion, especially hammer ons and pull offs are easier and game play on expert even seems slower to me. The games songs style has changed, there is no longer a long list of lethal rock and metal songs, the song list in this game is more commercialised so as to suit a larger range of people, which may be good for business but I dont think has inproved the game. An extremely versatile and reliable guitar!

Advantages: The classic bread and butter of our time - beautiful and brilliant
