Death on the Nile - Deathly Boring

Advantages: Used up a couple of hours on an otherwise dull Sunday
Disadvantages: Nothing challenging about it

...I've played a few of Agatha Christie's puzzle games, one of which involved Hercule Poirot and I really enjoyed them. This one however I found dreadfully poor and I'm not really sure what the creators were thinking of when they dreamt it up. Advantages: Wonderful cast, great to look at

To Egypt and to death

Advantages: Rich, sumptuous setting
Disadvantages: Some characters a little over the top

...characters are way too over the top though. This is just one of the many adaptations of Agatha Christie's Poirot starring David Suchet. Thank goodness it is not the last. David Suchet will be a hard actor to replace. Highly recommended. I have seen the film version of this adaptation, but the DVD is available from Amazon for £12.99 . The DVD is also available as part of a collection of Poirot adaptations starring David Suchet, published by Agatha Christie Limited (A Chorion Company). Death on the Nile is the first adaptation available and is available for an introductory price of just ₤2.99 from most newsagents for a DVD and a magazine with information about the film, actors and Agatha Christie herself. I haven't seen the magazine, but the DVD alone has to worth that price!...

Nile Cruise another perspective

Advantages: History and having a Thomson rep at all times

...I went on a Nile Cruise with Thomson. It was a five star boat part of the Presidential line called the Nile Commodore. In the brochure the details included all excusions which were packed into the 7 days, I thought oh yea dragged around from tomb to tomb but it was booked so off we went. We arrived to a wonderful friendly greeting. Thomson had a rep on board who came everywhere with us and was always around to help. Not a pretty young thing with fluttering eyelashes but a more mature young woman who was well respected by all the crew. The boat was fantastic wood panelling everywhere and whenever you say members of the crew they greeted you warmly. Nile - Black Seeds of vengeance. Infinite Awesome

Advantages: Brutal, relentless, esoteric sound
Disadvantages: Not for those with a heart condition.

...This is about the time Nile took most of the metal world by storm and brought a new level of brutal to the table for people to worship. The strong Middle Eastern and Egyptian sound really adds a new level to the music and brings a sort of haunting tone to the overall sound. Blast beats and double kick insanity are to be found all over every single track, bar the interludes which are of a strong Ancient Egyptian styling that really adds to the feeling that you will get. Most of the songs conjure a feeling of war and chaos, which is always a perfect subject for Death Metal. ?Masturbating The War God? and ?The Black Flame? are two tracks that for me, really shine. They present all the style and skill that Nile have become renowned for over the years. This is a must have piece of hate on a CD, and as such, get it, or miss out....

The Book For The Trip

...A book gains so much when it´s read where it´s set, doesn´t it? So when someone gave me ´Death on the Nile´ I booked a trip to Egypt to get the right atmosphere for the perusal. Sounds good, eh? Very posh, not quite correct, though. I did go to Egypt, it was when I was looking for adequate reading matter to take with me that I remembered this book. I had read it yonks ago and forgotten the plot completely, so I took it with me for the days we would be cruising up the Nile. ´Death on the Nile´ takes us onto a boat cruising from Aswan in Upper Egypt through the cataracts up the river, a voyage which can´t be made any more after the building of the High Dam in Aswan (1960-1971), the part the protagonists were on has disappeared in the 500 km long Lake Nasser, nowadays cruises can be made only up to Aswan and then on a different ship...

...Death on the Nile is a 1978 British feature film based on the 1937 murder mystery novel by Agatha Christie. Cast I am not describing the performances of the whole cast here in detail, but only the ones that really made a lasting impression on me. Sir Peter Ustinov as Mr Hercule Poirot - 5/5 Sir Peter Ustinov has his first appearance as Poirot here - and he certainly doesn't disappoint. Nile - In the Beginning. From humble beginnings

Advantages: Nice selection of rarities, its Nile
Disadvantages: Not the greatest Production, but not the worst either.

...Nile are a band that pretty much define Brutal Death Metal, so you kinda know that anything they put out is going to be of the most extreme affair. This isn't much a best of, as most of the tracks that you may already have are in fact the original studio versions, so there is something new of sorts to listen to. Quite a few of the tracks sound notably different from the album version you may have heard. For fans of the band, this is a rather nice addition to your collection, a little look into the early days of the band. Ramses Bringer of War is still a track that creates such an epic tone that it deserves to be the national anthem of all wars. The sheer level of playing is still evident even this far back. All in all this is a nice touch to an already flawless release record and a must own for fans of the band....
