Advantages: Looks great
Disadvantages: Matching kettle is useless!

...This Deco toaster by Prestige looks really good! I own it in red. The advantages to this toaster include... * A matching kettle available (alhtough as you will see in another of my reviews this is not all that great) * It has two slots for toast which can be adjusted according to the size of the bread * It looks good in stainless steel and your chosen colour * It's buttons light up and are easy to press * It has reheat, defrost and bagel settings and a cancel button * Has a crumb tray * Has cord storage This kettle looks fab in my kitchen! It works well and I have no complaints. The problem is that the matching kettle is no good at all (please see my review for this). The other thing I have found with this toaster is that although it has all these additional settings (width adjusters, bagel settings etc) I do not...

I have seen the future, and it is... Art Deco!

Advantages: Very high weirdness value, good cinematography, some eerily accurate predictions of the future
Disadvantages: Maybe TOO weird for some, stilted acting

Art Deco Hotel in a lovely "arondissement"!

Advantages: Excellent weekend rates, quiet area, clean rooms and friendly staff.
Disadvantages: Gives misleading information about itself, our bags were left unattended in the hallway.

Pao de Acucar - art deco splendour

Advantages: very beautiful, helpful staff
Disadvantages: interesting bathrooms

...I have stayed at the Pao de Acucar twice and have enjoyed it both times. It has a fantastic art deco staircase and art deco furniture in the lobby and also in the rooms. The rooms vary, some have very old fashioned (art deco?) bathrooms - we had one with a giant boiler over the bath! Great central location, they can arrange parking at the garage down the road if you want which is an experience when you come to pick your car up (you might find it parked in the tightest space you've ever seen up a steep ramp, but if your concerned then will bring it down to the entrance for you - it is just so they can cram more cars in there. The breakfast was good - plenty of choice and good coffee. They have a lounge with internet access which is handy, and a lift which is good. Staff are very helpful and friendly...

...forbid that the grande dame of perfume should be relaunched in some Jean Paul Gautier type packaging and bottle. The No5 experience surely starts with the simple understated packaging which just shouts out CLASSY!! No5 is marketed in either a normal bottle or a refillable bottle. I happen to own one of the refillable versions. The refills come in a very sophisticated black container which is reminiscence of an over sized Lipstick, again it is very simple in it's design, with a gold band around the middle and the Chanel logo in gold on the top. The more widely sold bottle is perhaps the most understated of designs it's very reminiscent of an art deco object with it's simple square shape and glass stopper effect top.
