...than the being sick part, is being congested, there's little worse then a blocked up nose especially when you so desperately want to sleep, you find yourself breathing through your mouth ending up with a sore throat and in my case sore lips too, which inevitably makes you feel worse. In the past I would have thought "grin and bare it" but having 3 children to look after means I need to be at least slightly functioning during the day and so I keep our cupboard well stocked with Karvol drops and other decongestant products. I don't thisn theat they are expensive at all, given the instant elief that they give. I think they are worth every penny. Karvol Decongestant Capsules, are available in packs of 10 for £1.99 and 20 for £3.55. Karvol Decongestant Drops are available in 12ml bottles for £2.65. Also, becasue you don't use much each time you use them, they last for ages. Good value again! ...I found myself looking at this strange contraption in my local chemist, it had a small nozzle attached to a squeezey rubber bulb, and was called the NUK Nasal Decongester. At the time I thought it was yet another consumer gimmick.....until my baby daughter had trouble breathing through a snotty nose at 2 months old. Obviously being at an age where I couldn't teach her to blow, I thought I'd give it a go. It's really useful once you get the hang of it. Obviously baby is going to wriggle around as soon as you gently hold it's head still and place something around it's nostril. (This sounds cruel, but you have to be to be kind) but believe me it's worth persevering. ...It is the season for coughs, colds and general sniffles and with those, many of us gets a blocked nose, which may or may not be sinusitis. For me, a blocked nose is probably THE worst symptoms of a cold and I hate it, which is why I have always used Sinex in the past. During my last cold, Sinex disappeared off the shelves and I was greatly distressed by this. However, in Tesco, for £2.48, they had Sudafed spray. I wasn't sure but then realised Sudafed made decongestant tablets, which were always good, so why not give it a try. The packaging is a simple white and green box, not overly appealing but when you have a cold, nothing does. Inside there is a 15ml brown bottle with a white pump and long white nozzle for popping up your nose.
