Come Fry With Me
Review of Cordon Bleu Stainless Steel Deep Fat Fryer by LILL07

Advantages: Heats up quickly
Disadvantages: None

...Recently i seem to have had a bit of bad luck where it comes to my household appliances, first it was the cooker which i have had for 8 years it decided not to cook anymore, then the washing machine broke then my lovely other half decided he wanted fried chips instead of our normal oven chips and when he switched our deep fat fryer on it blew all the sockets in the house giving us no electric for a while. So to say the least i have had a bit of an appliance nightmare but all would be saved by my lovely mum well chips would anyway she bought me a brand spanking new deep fat fryer. I'm not the sort of person that is bothered if all my kitchen paraphernalia matches so when my mum walked in with a stainless steel deep fat fryer i was more then happy to except her gift. The Deep fat fryer comes in quite a large standard box which is blue... Read review

Anyone want some chips...?
Review of Tefal FA700415 Family Oleoclean Fryer by shaheena

Advantages: Very easy to clean
Disadvantages: temperatures go abit funny....?

...this product is because It also has a small minute resolution timer right on the machine which is a great thing, you can put in the food, and walk away for a minute, and come back when the timer goes off. The negative side of the deep fat fryer is that it doesn't always reach the temperature that it supposes to reach. So when you’re cooking your frozen food at 190 degrees C it would shut off and the oil will cool down sometimes, which delays the cooking time which isn’t great and can be a pain. Since it was a wedding present I didn’t know how much it cost, but I did some research on it and found some useful facts about the Tefal FA700415 Family Oleoclean Fryer which are: Family 1kg food capacity and 2.2L oil capacity – This is a food size, enough to cook for loads of people in one go. * Cordless design – tie up loose wire, which I good... Hot stylish fryer
Review of Cookworks DF2102 by marcellep

Advantages: Size, Style, Cost, Looks, Design,
Disadvantages: Nil

...We bought this deep fat fryer from Argos about 6 months for £29.99. I have since checked and it's still available at the same price from Argos. We choose this one because it was described as a professional stainless steel fryer. We believed that being professional then it would be safer. The style and look of the appliance is great and of course it is great value for money. The maker: I had not heard that much about cookworks in the past to be totally honest this was the first time I had ever bought an item from them. What you get: Instructions~ which are pretty useless to be honest as they have a few pictures showing you how to put the fryer together and how to fill it. I guess what more can they tell about the fryer Guarantee card~ I never completed this as Argos gave me a 1 yrs guarantee as will most retailers. The fryer... Read review

try the Chip shop instead
Review of Moulinex ACZ1P1 by Tracy57

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: Greasy, Smelly, Horrible chips

...My opinion on deep fat fryers is do not buy one. if you do eat chips which you should not do too often is use a chip pan or better still make it a treat and go to the chip shop as they are far nicer than anything that ever came out of my moulinex deep fat fryer. Even thought I changed the filters I could stil smell the chips cooking and the steam made too much condensation in my kitchen. It was very hard to clean. in the end I used to get an extension lead and cook the chips outside and that is were the deep fat fryer stayed until i decided that chips are not that good for me and if i really did want them The chip shops are the best so the dep fat fryer was put in the bin and I have never regretted tto this day. One more point to add I also found that grease collected on the area arround the dep fat fryer ie small spots on the wall... Read review

CHIPS AND BITS
Review of Delonghi Rotofryer Fat Fryer by linda01865

Advantages: cooks well, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Hinge drops out constantly and does not fit very well

...My daughter purchased my deep fat fryer as a birthday present for me earlier in the year. The fryer is an easy clean variety with a pull out hose for the emptying of the dirty oil/fat. The fryer has an inspection window fitted into the lid and the lid is hinged with like a bit of plasic to hold it on. This became my problem. It was forever falling out into the cooking. Eventually it dissolved in with the chips one day. Needless to say the food was thrown away and oil dissposed of. Back to the details of the fryer. The sliding thermostat control function is handy for setting and the basket is a fair size but does often stick and not catch when it rises from cooking. At the back of the fryer it has a cable compartment,to store the lead cable and plug. This model also comes complete with a recipe book (small). The booklet is written... Read review

Chish and Fips
Review of Tefal Smart Clean Fat Friar by CareBear

Advantages: Good capacity, simple to use
Disadvantages: see bottom of opinion

...My husband is truly into romantic present buying! Obviously from the same training school as Les Battersby (Coronation Street), he came up with the idea of getting me a deep fat fryer as a present. Now, I should point out that I was not wholly averse to this idea as I had been craving home cooked chips ever since I left my parents house; Oven chips are just not the same! However, anyone who knows me, which includes regular readers of my opinions, will know that I do not allow any household item to be bought before rigorous market research has been undertaken and price checks carried out (yes even for a present!). So it came to pass that we were to survey the deep fat fryer market – and what a wonderful time we had! You really wouldn’t think that there was too much to it but read on and find out why the Tefal Smart Clean... Read review

Great Kenwood Deep Fat Fryer
Review of Kenwood DF600 by pcschof

Advantages: Great Fryer - with Coolwall - very easy to clean
Disadvantages: none so far

...We bought this to replace our old Delonghi fryer and we havent been disappointed yet. It holds 2 1/2 litres of oil at its maximum level and 2 litres at the minimum. The heat setting is adjustable via a roller wheel towards the bottom of the unit and this makes it very user friendly. The lid is easy to open and the basket is very easy to remove from the bowl and also very easy to put back in. The great advantage of this fryer is that it is exceptionally easy to clean and all parts but the electric unit are completely dishwasher safe. Making this fryer very friendly to use and to keep clean. The bowl is removable which makes it so easy to clean the rest of the unit. It has an integrated filter in the lid, which is also washble. The temperature control knob is very easy to use. We paid £54 for this deep fat fryer when... Read review

Bush Deep Fat Fryer model FC026
Review of Bush FC026 by welshwickedone

Advantages: Great, easy cleaning , value for money
Disadvantages: None so far

...Bush Deep Fat Fryer Chrome FC026. ------------------------------------------------------------ Yet again, the time came for one of my beloved small kitchen appliances to take itself into retirement last week after five years loyal service. Now do not get me wrong the appliance served me well and in my opinion gave a good loyal service for a deep fat fryer. Time for another shopping venture, which I was not envying at this time of year, so I thought I would first chance my luck and browse through the countless sales leaflets I am always receiving from many mail order companies. Usually you find they are always full of sales on products and appliances that you do not need to replace, or would ever consider buying. However, this time lady luck was shining down on me and whilst browsing I found that homeshoppingdirect.com had a half... Read review

A good fryer guaranteed to make you fat!
Review of Morphy Richards 45470 by hollypopple

Advantages: Good quality, high capacity, variable temperature
Disadvantages: Oil evaporates onto the units above it

...I bought this deep fat fryer just over a year ago from Amazon.co.uk for about £50. It is a very good quality fryer with variable temperature control up to 190 degrees, and is an attractive brushed steel design. There is also an on-off button and a red indicator light which turns off when the required temperature has been reached. The basket can hold about 1.2kg of food, which is slightly more than most domestic fryers. It is very effective and cooks food well. It also heats up quickly. The fryer packs away neatly as the handle folds cleverly inside without touching the oil, so that the removable lid can cover it. You have to wait for several hours after using it before it is cool enough to put the lid back on. The main bowl lifts out for easy cleaning and the basket is dishwasher safe. The remaining parts have to be washed... Read review

You've had your chips....
Review of Breville Cool Wall Deep Fat Fryer by MarkKerr

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: extremely limited functions

...We invested in this deep fat fryer quite recently, intending to use it for a variety of food - chips, chicken etc. Unfortunately, being in somewhat of a rush that day and faced with a wide range of prices, we plumped for the basic £19.99 fryer. Its nice and white and holds I can honestly say that this is a case of you get what you pay for. The instruction are basic - they couldn't actually be much else as this fryer: Has no on/off switch - plug 'n' play I suppose No range of temperature setting The cool wall isn't - it does heat up noticeably The automatic temperature control merely heats the fat to a certain temperature and switches off The lid 'locks' into place to avoid accidents - a worthy feature - however, its a pain to actually get off when the fryer has been on as the cool wall and lid both heat up to an uncomfortable degree...
