As Def Jam Vendetta (DJV) was a new series it had to come into the gaming world with a bang; and it did. This game gave you the answer to "Who would win a fight out of Methan Man and Redman?" or "Could anyone beat DMX in a fight?". In DJV some of the most well known artists on the Def Jam record label featured, including: Ludacris, Joe Budden and Ghostface Killah, as well as a selection of made-up characters with unique personalities and fighting styles. This is a wrestling game but some styles can effect how if you rely on grapples mainly, or strikes. Def Jam Vendetta

Advantages: A hip-hop wrestling game to compete with Smackdown!
Disadvantages: Limited modes and there are no objects to interact with

...Def Jam Vendetta is a wrestling simulation. Unlike the Smackdown! series this game is based on the hip-hop Def Jam record label instead of proffesional wrestlers. So you won't be seeing the likes of The Rock, Randy Orton or Batista instead you'll be seeing DMX, Nore and Ludracris. Def Jam Vendetta is developed by the AKI Corporation who used to develop the WCW wrestling games until it became defunt in November 2001. EA Big publishes the game instead of EA Games. DEF JAM ICON

Advantages: GOOD SOUNDTRACK
Disadvantages: GAMEPLAY; VARIETY OF MOVES;

...Awful Awful Awful!!! Very disappointed with this game!! It only cost me £20 brand new but still felt that I was ripped off! You start off where, as usual you have a choice of characters to choose from, which there is a few who are the stars of the Def Jam Record label then you move on to fight!! Graphics aren't that good but the music is great as it's all pretty new Hip Hop music which appeals to me but then there's the gameplay!! That's when it gets ugly!! There are very few moves to use when you are fighting which is very poor for a fighting game, it's very slow and you don't have a health bar, you have to guess your health by the background colouring which I found very awkward to use. I played this a few times as I thought I was doing something wrong but the same happened every time. Again, very disappointed...

Def Jam FFNY.

Advantages: Addictive gameplay.
Disadvantages: Not enough gameplay time!

...Like gore and street fighting? Then you'll love the newest version of the ever so popular Def Jam Fight For New York. It was founded in 1984 and has been a huge success ever since. The Universal company was founded in the US and includes such successes as Def Jam recordings and other revolutionary computer games. The game mainly consists of black rappers participating in violent street fights not suitable for young children. It is a close follow up of the ever so successful Def Jam for the PS2 and as we already know, there is going to be a new one for the PS3 and XBOX 360 called Def Jam ICON which does actually look quite appealing. Are you ready for some comedy?

...I cannot comment in comparison to the rest of the series, as I have not seen the others, however I found this DVD which is a collection of three episodes of pure black comedy to be one of the best I'd ever seen. Its amazing how all of the acts are still as funny today, despite them all being performed 12 years ago, as I am only 15 it shows how you did not have to be there at the time to get the jokes. The O.J. Simpson trial is one of the main themes here, so it is evident that the process had recently been completed. There are various angles which th comedians go into concerning the matter, all obviously ending hilariously. Something which attracted me to buying this DVD out of the collection was the lin-up of many familiar faces who apparently had began their journey to success from this comedy series. Blackcurrants + a little Sugar = Microwave Jam!

Advantages: Freshly picked taste! low sugar; No slaving over preserving pans; less washingup; makes creative gifts.
Disadvantages: Need Microwave; your fingers get filthy topping/tailing; the jam gets eaten too quickly

...Two years ago, I had finally managed to pick all the blackcurrants from the bushes in my front garden! It was a backbreaking job to "top and tail" all the blackcurrants - it was a bumper crop for five bushes. Some were so small that the berries were almost the same size as the tail… Anyhow, the best use for mini blackcurrants is jam, and the best way to make jam is in the microwave. The benefits of making the jam in the microwave include: … No metallic taste from boiling in a metal preserving pan; … No slaving over a massive pan on the cooker; … No constant stirring; … No trying to keep the jam from burning on the stove or boiling over; … No trying to wash up an oversized pan in an undersized sink; … Full, intense flavour, with less sugar required to set. A minor drawback is my inability to make a large batch at once...

Review of Recipes for Jams and Preserves

The best jam by far

Advantages: Great quality, tastes delicious, no lumpy bits
Disadvantages: Pricey but worth it, heavy jar

...I'm not a huge fan of jam but I do occasionally get the odd craving for some strawberry jam so like to have a jar kept at the back of my cupboards for these times. Because I don't often use it I usually just buy a shop's value make but my nan bought a couple of Hartley's jams as they were on a BOGOF offer and gave one to me as she didn't want them both. Hartley's Best Strawberry Jam comes in a 340g opaque glass jar (quite heavy) with a silver twist lid and the Hartley's symbol on the front over an image of a strawberry. You can see through the jar that the jam is a deep red colour and when you open the lid you can smell a very sweet strawberry scent, much the same as any other strawberry jam.
