...COSTA DEL SOL
Benalmadea Costa,
I'm afraid I was always a bit of a 'travel snob' regarding the Costa del Sol. I envisaged the types of scene in TV's Benadorm, a type of Blackpool with sun.
As members of a vacation club ( it was then Sunterra now Diamon Resorts) we had the opportunity for a weeks break for relatively few points at the Sahara Sunset in Benalmadea Costa, as we could get Easy Jet airfairs to Malaga for a very low price we decided to try it.
We have been three times more since then - so needless to say I was not disappointed.
Benalmadena is only 15 kilometers from Malaga Airport, car hire is easily obtainable but it is only 25 euros for a taxi from the airport and there are plenty of excursions and good public transport available in the resort. It is set on the Costa del Sol between...

Advantages: Vegan. No Artificial colours, preservatives, flavours or sweeteners. Only 78 calories per lolly. 100% RDA for Vit 'C'. Disadvantages: Only sold in boxes of 4, so not available individually.
...A chance for me to enjoy a respite and any relaxation is a rare occurrence during the school summer holidays, and to actually concur with some hot sunny weather is even more obscure. But just like a lottery win, these things do happen, and once the children had temporarily vacated the premises in order to pursue their hectic social lives, it was my prompt to hit the sun bed and lap up some rays.
Twas a lovely day too, laying there, my mind drifting off to a fantasy beach on a fantasy isle... Somewhere tropical, where warm ebbing waters tickled white sandy shores. Basking in the sun and dreaming... aaaa this was the life... I was suddenly gripped by a desire to compliment my newfound freedom with my latest discovery whilst in Sainsburys, a Del Monte Pineapple 'Fruit Ice' lolly.
Although Del Monte now makes wide ranges of juices...
Advantages: Plenty of variety, not all designer, lots of affordable places, food and cinema. Disadvantages: You might fall in love with designer clothes in the windows!
....
Via del Corso runs from Piazza Venetia, below the Il Vittoriano monument in the center of Rome, all the way up to Piazza del Popolo in the north of the city. It's one of the biggest streets for shopping in Rome and is frequented by tourists and locals, looking for a variety of goods. There are no sites that would be of interest to a tourist on Via del Corso, but there are so many very nearby such as the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and Forum Romanum. So if you're doing a lot of walking around the city, then you're bound to find yourself on this street at some point. It's certainly well worth a visit as it's an interesting street with a good variety of shops and a good atmosphere.
We can date the history of this road back to the time of the Roman Empire, when it was known as Via Flaminia and was known to take...

Review of Via del Corso
Advantages: Sunshine Disadvantages: Feels like England
...When I was offered a week of Spain I jumped at the chance! Club La Costa was offering a week at California Beach, near Finguerola for only 29 pounds plus airfare to Malaga. We knew that it was early in the season but figured we would take the chance and beat the crowds.
Club La Costa is a large development about 30 mins from Malaga airport. You can take a Tiny Train between the Two main parts of the resort: Marina del Sol and California Beach (or as we learned, smile sweetly at any of the porters and they will drive you there!).
In this part of Spain it is low season until June 1.
So the restaurants and bars at the resort closed promptly at midnight - not at all like the Spain I had heard of where you eat late.
Eventhough you have the main pool to yourself, this is for a VERY good reason... it is NOT HEATED. There is...

Advantages: Great location & cheap Disadvantages: Not that many food places around
...I visited Barcelona this July and stayed at the Hotel Hesperia Del Mar for five nights with 3 other friends and I have to honestly say we all loved it! The hotel price which we got from expedia was one of the most competitive around and we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel, for how cheap the hotel was it was quite nice. It cost for five night my share was 145 so the entire room cost was 290. The hotel reception staff were the highlight of the hotel. They are very friendly, warm and always willing to help! The rooms were standard and offered everything we needed. The bathroom was fully equipped with a shower, toilet, bidet and sink with large mirror. The bedroom consisted of 2 single beds and were comfy. There is air conditioning so we never felt hot and flustered in the room unless we turned it off and forgot to put it...
Advantages: Plenty to do Disadvantages: Noisy traffic
...I?ve just returned from a one-week holiday in Benalmadena in Costa Del Sol (June 2004) and would like to provide some information about Benalmadena Resort & Benalmadena Palace Apartments where we stayed.
****Benalmadena Palace Apartments****
Newly opened in February 2004, this Apart-Hotel has 4-Star rating.
The coach transfer from Malaga Airport to the Hotel was only about 30 minutes and that included a drop off a one other hotel first. Facilities include Outdoors Pool & Children?s pool, Indoor Pool and Jacuzzi, Sauna, Games Rooms, Table Tennis, Gym (Which was well equipped) Pool Table. Bar. Children?s play area, Mini-Golf (although there were only 5 holes!) Cyber café.
Some facilities were still being implemented, I don?t think the mini-golf was properly finished, and also Tennis Courts & 5-a-side football pitch were still under...

Review of Costa del Sol (Spain)
Advantages: Two perfect leads terrific sound and a beautiful orchestra Disadvantages: none
...This recording relights a passion for Puccini, and Italian opera in general, that I have not felt since I was much younger and heard the Callas/de Sabata Tosca for the first time. Like that recording, this recording is the definitive benchmark recording for this opera. Tebaldi and Del Monaco are in their element - one of the great 20th Century couples in full flight; Tebaldi's tone is rounder and more brilliant than any other Minnie while creating a superbly rounded character and Del Monaco is remarkably convincing. This is Del Monaco's finest studio recording even better than his Otello, his voice sounds less nasal than many of his recordings in the 1960s whilst not so heavy and unsmiling as some of his earlier records which altough showing off a remarkable voice have only two apparent dynamics - loud and louder.
The sound here is very...
...It is a little known fact that on the sly the Nursey is a bit of a footie fan. Now for most people this might mean supporting their local team and cheering for England during European Championships and the World Cup. The Nursey however deviates from the norm here and has been known to check out the results of a little known team from Turin going by the name of Juventus. At European and World cup times the Nursey has risked near lynching from various quarters as she screams support for Italy.
It was one Saturday morning towards the end of 1995 that a rather hungover Nursey spotted the drop dead gorgeous figure of one Alessandro Del Piero.Rubbing the sleep from her eyes and trying to focus it soon became apparent that this rather gorgeous vision could score a goal or two! It was lust at first sight! From there on Saturday mornings...

Review of Alessandro Del Piero
Advantages: Near to other attractions, great places to get lunch and coffee Disadvantages: Out of the way a bit.
...Piazza del Popolo is north east of the city centre and located just above tourist attractions such the Spanish Steps and some great streets for shopping that the Italians frequently visit themselves. It's near to the mauseleum of Hadrian and just below a fantastic park, Borghese, that's great to eat lunch and relax in.
The squares name is derrived from the modern Italian for 'the peoples square'. The church that stands on one side of the square, Santa Maria del Popolo takes it's name from the historical context of the name of the square. The square itself is very large and has various features. The obelisk in the centre has a fascinating history; in 10 BC Augustus brought it to Italy from Egypt. It's theme is Rameses the second. Prior to living in the square it was located in the Cirucs Massimo, which was where chariot racing took...

Review of Piazza del Popolo
Advantages: Cheap loads of sun Disadvantages: Too much english
...I have lived in Costa Del Sol for about a year and half and just returned home to the uk four weeks ago.One thing good about southern Spain is that there's plenty of sun all year round even in the winter its nothing like the UK it's sill quite warm.
There are plenty and plenty of English, Irish and Welsh bars out there which to me it was a bit too much and that's one thing that I didn't like in southern Spain due to its very English.
Shopping
I was situated just outside Torremolinos it's about half an hour from Fungerola which has Marks and Spencer and a very big shopping mall there.
Malaga is just half an hour way as well, in the central train station there is a shopping mall with plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes.
Night Life
Benelemedena has a 24hour even thou the pubs and clubs are not open 24h most of the clubs are...
