...This is a superb colour laser printer for the money. I use this for business on a daily basis. Although mainly used for B&W printing its very fast. When used in Colour the image quality is fantastic. This printer comes with various means of communication ie parallel, USB and a built in network adapter. I have it linked directly to the router and therefore it can be used as a network printer easily. The menus are very versitile and offer you a great array of features to help control your business costs. Ie turning off the colour function to certain users. My only disappointment is that it doesnt come with a larger tray. An additional tray can be purchased as an optional extra at additional cost. The printer is very frugal with the ink, it seems to keep printing and printing without the levels going down rapidly. The cartridges...

...coloured text and logos is still a lot better than inkjet printers. The printer in itself is really fast, dell claims this one can do about 25 pages a minute, however in testing I actually managed to get nearly 30 pages out of this, and even got 31 pages on the third time I tested it, so perhaps 30 pages per minute is more accurate for this printer. All of this great quality and even greater speeds does however come at a price, and quite a high price for a printer. You should be able to get one of these for a bout £100, or maybe cheaper if you look around for one, most inject of good quality are about £50, and even though this printer in double the price of a good inkjet printer, I think it is also double the print quality and a lot better speeds than most inkjet printers are too. So this is a great printer to buy if you do have to money...

Dell 725 color printer

Advantages: fast
Disadvantages: does not print in true black ink color

...This printer has NEVER printed in true (or even close...) black "color". Contacting Dell support, I was told "your printer is no longer under warranty", so they would not even offer assistance. I never used it much (it was bundled with the laptop), so now when I needed it for a project, it is very disappointing that it does not work. I have downloaded and installed the "latest" driver (from 2006!) and that still did not help. I re-ran the printers test pattern and head cleaner, and no black ever printed. The test pattern is blue, pink, yellow and brownish-green. Given other's comments here about the black being a greenish-grey, I would never buy another single-cartridge printer again. I would definitely suggest you purchase a printer that has a dedicated black cartridge. Fast speed accounts for nothing if the colors are screwy!...

laser vs inkjet, i think laser wins.

Advantages: better quality print, faster.
Disadvantages: not great at printing photos

...wouldn’t say it looks great, but it doesn’t look horrible and at the end of the day it’s a printer, it does what its meant to do, and it does it well, very well in fact so a little compromise on the design isn’t really a lot of compromise at all. One thing it isn’t amazing on is printing pictures. Sure they do come off good quality, and the pictures are sharp however they just seem to come out a little dark as opposed to a good photo inkjet printer that have better colour contrast and print better photos, saying that though, I presume most people wont be buying this printer to just print photos on anyway, and its better quality in black ink and in coloured text and logos is still a lot better than inkjet printers. Dell Color Printer 725

Advantages: Cheap, Easy to use, relatively fast
Disadvantages: Only takes Colour Cartridges, not a viable option for regular printing

...I got the printer bundled in free with a Laptop, and its very bare bones. My biggest problem with it is that it only takes colour cartridges. This means to produce black ink documents, usually what most people print out, it mixes 2 colours to produce a black effect. It never quite manages it and your prints will look sort of greeny grey. Also, at £15 a cartridge from Dell, it seems quite alot to pay. The printer has a reasonable speed for home use and is easy to use, although the Dell software is quite intrusive when printing and sometimes I wish it would go away. The product is suited for light home use, although due to the fact that there is no single black ink cartridge there are much better printers out there for arguably a more reasonable price. I would recommend the printer to anyone who uses a printer on a rare occasion and does...

Well Worth The Money

Advantages: Colour Prints are Superb. Nice and fast on black and white.
Disadvantages: None unless you really dont want to wait afew seconds for colour

...This is a supervb printer. Slightly slower than others but in my experience the quality is well worth the extra few seconds. I have done many digital photographs with this and also have done loads and loads of printing for customers. Black and White prints like doucments and text info on websites are super fast to come off really its the extra few seconds on the colour which i accept and also its faster than a inkjet. It has networking facility which is easy to setup I do a awful lot of printing for customers and i can get over 8000 prints black and white and colour wise roughtly around 5000 This is a quality printer and well worth the money for both buiness and home office. I have had mine over 3 years now and its still going like it was new no faults with it what so ever....

...I bought this Dell printer several months ago when my old printer broke down. I have never really needed to print much (only the occasional essay or B-day card), so I decided to go for this cheap Dell 720 photo printer. I looked for the cheapest printer I could find and I believe this one cost between £30-35 on the Dell website. ..., dell customer support and all the usual stuff. -Style- Its not one of the most attractive things in the world, it's a kind of greyish colour with black paper feed trays and catch tray. The sides and back are also black. There is a big dell badge on the front and set to the side the power button is on a weird oval type raised platform. -Paper feed- It has an adjustable paper feed tray with A4 paper being the biggest size. To adjust it you just have to pull the little grey tab along, so easy to do. The only problem I have came across is if you have too much paper it can be hard to get it all in. -Cartridges- There are two cartridges needed for this printer, a Black and a coloured cartridge. They are about an inch wide and one and a half inches high. You will receive 2 "trial" cartridges with the printer but these will run out...

Good quality bargian printer

Advantages: Cheap, reliable and works with Windows Vista
Disadvantages: Expensive ink if brought direct from Dell

...is resolved by cleaning the print heads. The biggest the that most people think about when buying a printer is the cost of replacing the ink when it's run out. And I do have to say, when buying your top up ink from Dell, it can get a little pricy. I have found a way around this however. Inktek do a Ink refill kit for this printer, it costs about £8, rather than £30 for a new cartridge you can get 1 bottle of each colour or 3 of the same, it comes with instructions and tools etc. The colour that gets used the fastest is the blue, this is due to printing black text. If you are going to attemp to refil your cartridge the computer will continue to tell you that you are out of ink, this is because the cartridge comes with a little chip in it to tell the printer how much ink is left.
