There are so many cards out there. and theyres about 100 varieties of just the 6600GT alone...so the market is huge and the differences are slight but may make a huge difference. after looking at the graphic card range, i decided on the 6600GT because of its price and clock speed. i chose the PNY card because the reviews were very good and theyre were little bad reviews which is always good!! The best alternative is probably the Dell Axim x51v, which costs around £250-£300 depending on Dell's current offers. ...The Dell Dimension 8300 is one of the, if not fastest Dell desktop on sale by Dell. One of the good things about Dell is that every system is taylor-made, and built to your specification. Just tell Dell what you want your computer to have in it, they will give you a price and then build it for you. You can order by telephone or on their website. Their website is in my opinion the better place to order as the prices of each part you can add to the system are clearly shown, as are detailed descriptions and lots of other info. Delivery of my Dimension 8300 was 4 days from ordering, shorter than Dell's estimated 10 which was very good. As for speed and performance of the system, they are abosolutely fantastic! The reason I decided to go for Dell was that I could pick and choose what spec I wanted and i knew from previous experiences with the company they offered great reliability and value. I was looking for the cheapest PC I could find. So after searching Dell's site I found this dimension for just under £400. For that I got a 19' flat panel monitor, 2.8 GHZ 160GB hard drive 1024mb RAM, DVD ROM drive and DVD rewriter (2 Seperate Drives), 13 in ! card reader, Keyboard, Mouse an dspeakers. ...My first system was an xps500t. This was nearly 12 months ago and was chosen because of the support and warranty offered. Being fairly inexperienced I have found both the telephone support and web based support to be very helpfull. I have had no problems except self inflicted software related problems and would highly recommend buying a dell. With any problems I have had I have always been able to get excellent advise from the Dell web talk forum where everyone seems more than willing to help. Now I have had the opportunity of using other systems and discussing various problems others have had I know I made the correct choice with my first system and would not hesitate to purchase from Dell again.... About six years ago, my family and I purchased a Dell system for home use. Since then, it was obvious that the Dell logo was to be associated with quality. It was advanced technology at the time, but in todays world of relentlessly advancing technology, applications and expansions, it would probably be classed as slow. ...Well the Dell Dimension 2400 I could say is pretty good for business purposes. Dell does let you customize it but its more of a business system. Its not really all that fast, it has two ram slots no agp slot. Which means no video card, which means no high quality good games. How ever I recommend this system for typing, at home jobs, and for searching purposes. Pretty good size monitor but thats about it. Works with windows xp and lower O.S. Very good for a started computer and last a long time. Not the best for traveling and taking along with you. Not a bad system though but don't take my word for it try it out see what you think about it. Comes with a cool keyboard and mouse, plus I like the style.... Read review

...I work part time maintaining several Dell Dimension L733r Series PCs (amongst other things), so it's fair to say I've gained quite a lot of experience with them. Dell has a habit of of producing great, high quality PCs. A trait it's competitors will find habitually annoying I expect :) Dell PCs aren't particularly cheap, but you do pay for quality. The Dell Dimension Series is well balanced, with good specifications. The models I work with have 17" monitors and CD-RW drives. The case and monitor are quite stylish (although not fabulousy so), and are a soft white/beige colour. The case is very well designed though, as you will see if you open it up. Dell produces machines with not only excellent components, but the machines are highly upgradeable. There are plenty of spare slots for expansion, and a selection of USB... Read review

...Well yet again another one of my Ebay purchases to keep my system all Dell, and I only paid £10 for them LOL. I bought these as my PC didnt come with speakers, and it being a Dell I thought I may aswell buy Dell speakers. I came across a listing on Ebay and the seller was just down the road so I bought them. When I connected them up I was astonished. The sound quality is excellent for such a compact size. The subwoofer has a dial on the top to adjust the bass level and when that is turned write up it litterally makes the desk shake. Sound reproduction is excellent from the two stereo speakers to. With excellent trebel and midrage reproduction. These speakers go louder than my stereo system and sound brilliant.
