The Reliable Dell
Review of Dell Inspiron 1520 by
Stuart1964
Advantages: ease of use, robust, can handle rough use.
Disadvantages: it will not do your work for you!
...Dell Inspirons are very reliable machines!
Whenever I have been asked which machine I wish to upgrade to I always request the latest Inspiron.
I spend a lot of time travelling and work from home as well as the office- the Inspiron has proven to be robust and reliable.
The battery holding charge is reliable if you follow Dell's recommendations for use etc.
The recharging lead and pack is neat and small for ease of packing/transportation.
Monitor quality is great, gives good overall viewing comfort.
Acess to all set up arrangements are easy with this laptop with nothing difficult if you are busy and dont want to waste time reading the manuals.
The aesthetics of the machine are also very attractive and the Dell badge is a mark of reliability and great value for money.
I highly reccommend the Inspiron range, so when its time to choose...

dell inspiron 2200
Review of Dell Laptop Inspiron 2200 by
killemark
Advantages: quick, cheap, good for first time computer owners
Disadvantages: relativly slow processor and low graphics
...this dell laptop is very good for first time computer users. it offers all of the main features you would expect to see in a laptop and also comes with some optional extras such as windows vista home premiam an upgrade of vista home basic. the laptops processor is well known and could easyily run most games and almost ever aplication on the market for example microsoft office. with dell laptops such as this it is also possible to get a built in webcam in a wide range of colour if it is desired. the laptop however is not the fastest laptop on the market at the moment and is not as good as the dell inspiron 1501 another model of laptop from dell....

dell inspiron 640m - the girly inspiron
Review of Dell Inspiron 640m by
sunshineduck
Advantages: easy to set up and use, lightweight
Disadvantages: keys wear easily
...this laptop wasn't cheap as i got the vista business package and little extras. however it was worth it as i think it will last.
its amazingly light (my boyfriend has an inspiron, but a bigger one so he always thinks mine is tiny) and very easy to set up and use.
the connectivity is great, wireless and bluetooth never fail. screen is just the right size, and its not broken yet (had it about a year so not long) the other thing is it seems to take ages to load up and shut down, but that could be vista etc
the only problem i ever have is that the keys break. they dont break off, just the thing below them stops working as well, so you have to consciously make an effort with certain letters.
dell customer service is almost always great, and their products are generally reliable....

Inspirational Inspiron
Review of Dell Inspiron Range by
benzbenito
Advantages: High quality components, good build quality
Disadvantages: Not the sleekest laptop in the world
...In September 2002 I purchased a dell Inspiron laptop for my engineering course at loughborough university. I did alot of research into laptops and after about a month decided that a dell insprion was the best for me.
I was impressed by the reviews in magazines and decided to have a look at one myself. On inspection, I found that the laptop was extremely well built and looked very professional. The components that Dell uses in it's computers is always of a high quality and the Inspiron was no exception.
My laptop came with a 1.9GHz Mobile Pentium which generates less heat and uses less power than conventional processors that are often used in laptops. A nVidia graphics card and the option to have a 1600x1200 resolution screen (very good for CAD and graphic work) attracted me to the Inspiron range. My computer has never crashed...

The Inspiron 3800 laptop
Review of Dell Inspiron Range by
clint
Advantages: Very quick and robust
Disadvantages: A little expensive - but you get what you pay for.
...I would advise everyone to look carefully at which type of computer to buy - not just its specs, and would suggest a Dell every time. The reason being that, working as a web developer and programmer involves any computer being placed under a reasonable amount of pressure to keep open and run multiple applications at once - often ones which are very memory intensive (drawing packages especially). I have owned my Inspiron 3800 for 3 months now and use it everyday. However my 3800 has not given me any hint of being strained and has coped fantastically with everything thrown at it.
I bought a Dell over anything else because, after having numerous types of computer here in the office the Dell Dimension XPS T500 we have is the only one which has never given us a problem.
All of the computers we buy from now on are to be Dell's and I would...

Dells Solid Notebook
Review of Dell Inspiron Range by
kickflipit
Advantages: Aftersales Service, Reliability, Quality, Price
Disadvantages: Battery Life
...The Dell Inspiron is a very solid computer with a good performance, but comes with not only tremendous value, but with specification exceeding expectations and a normal standard of any other computer. It gives the customer more than enough for an all-round user, if you are designingt a webpage or downloading Mp3s the capability is enourmous, I bought the Inspiron 5000 because of the above, the only negative remark I have to submit is the life of the battery only spanning to about 2/3 hours, however does have an express charging in its entirety in an hour. It has a great after sales service which is a big choice in Dell, who wants a computer which has a tendency to break without after sales service, the staff at Dell are kind, helpful and have never come into contact with a rude person, thats what made me choose Dell, because if my...

Excellent build quality Inspiron 5000
Review of Dell Inspiron Range by
woger
Advantages: build, screen resolution, support, specification
Disadvantages: heavy and not cheap
...Although not the cheapest model on the market at the specification the excellent high resolution 15" screen and robust build quality make this model attractive. I purchased a Tiny model with similar specification only to receive a model that was encased in an alarmingly pliable casing. The inspiron with its magnesium case is far superior.
I bought the Dell product because I had been told of the good aftercare and I needed a machine with a reputation for reliability. I was not disappointed in this buy.
The hot swappable docking modules for a CD or DVD or extra hard drive is excellent although you will be advised to buy at the same time as the main purchase as these are expensive to add later. I also went for the docking station which is fully laden with out ports and again is of good build quality.
The only major disadvantage...

Superb Customizable Laptop for All
Review of Dell Inspiron 6400 by
DvDaf
Advantages: Customizable, Extended Battery Life, Media Buttons, Stylish,
Disadvantages: N/A
...I'm a keen enthusiastic of DELL laptops, although you always get the majority who always criticise DELL. Clearly, they are either computer illiterate or haven't a clue what DELL actually do. The DELL Inspiron is a fantastic laptop, they always manufacture laptop specifications to you're needs, and are for value for money. Every DELL computer I've had, I've always had a great experience and never no technical issues.
I purchased the DELL Inspiron 6400 a few months back, after my previous laptop lacked specification and had all the upgrades possible. I therefore decided to invest in the DELL Inspiron as it was necessary for college work, studying, and for general use. After being enticed by an advert on AOL, I decided to check out the offers they had currently on the DELL Inspiron, knowing previous what the DELL Inspiron 6400's...

Chunky but quick
Review of Dell Inspiron Range by
philnic
Advantages: Powerful, reliable
Disadvantages: Heavy, looks very thick these days
...I have now owned my Dell Inspiron 7000 for 6 months, and whilst an expensive purchase (I had it specced up with just about every option) it has proven very worthwhile.
It is reasonably quick and powerful, with 256Mb RAM, 10Gb HD and a 400 Mhz processor. The most amazing part is the 14.4 inch viewable area flat screen, a big as most 7 inch desktops!
On the downside, it has had to be rebuilt a couple of times, but I have never had call to use the 3 year Dell warranty, despite subjecting it to involuntary drop tests every so often. It is also both thick and heavy, but with all this power and 5 hours battery life as long as you dont use the DVD player, it is well worth building up your shoulder muscles!...
