Inspiring Inspiron from Dell

Advantages: Good spec, reasonable price, great processor
Disadvantages: The piano black surface attracts dust and dirt.

...I purchased the Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop back in January for my daughter's birthday. I had a limited budget but wanted to get her something with decent enough spec for playing computer games should she wish to do this, and a large hard drive as she is a big fan of making videos on her digital camera and downloading music - two things which can eat up hard drive space. I did a fair bit of research before purchasing and decided I wanted to get the best spec I possibly could for my money and the Inspiron ticked all the boxes. I paid £399 in January 2009 in Currys for the laptop which was the absolute limit on my budget. The Dell I purchased has a dark blue coloured lid, however the rest of it is a shiny piano black which looks lovely. I would have preferred metal for the mousepad area - it feels sturdier and doesn't seem to attract...

Dell Inspiron 1545 - good entry level laptop

Advantages: Cheap, good brand, lots of features,
Disadvantages: Probably not powerful enough for games, bottom of the market now

...The Dell Inspiron 1545 is an easy to use entry level laptop. Unlike two years ago when I bought my previous laptop, you can now get a number of Dell computers (of which this is one) direct from high street retailers. This is good if you want it in a rush and want a nearby place to handle any issues, but has the disadvantage that you can't customise your laptop to your own requirements to the same extent that you can if you buy it direct from Dell (which takes several weeks). Because Dell are so good at allowing customisation, you need to be very careful when you buy that you actually get the one you need - they are not all the same, so you can't just go into a shop and say "Give me your Inspiron 1545" - you need to be sure that it e.g. has a suitable processor, enough memory and a big enough hard drive for your needs. Dell Inspiron 1545 - tried and tested for 6 months

Advantages: Easy to use, perfect for storing vast amounts of data, very big hard drive!
Disadvantages: No webcam, poor battery life when watching films/episodes

The dell inspiron laptop is it a good buy!

Advantages: The look of the dell inspiron laptop seems more classy then other notepads. It is simplistic.
Disadvantages: Maybe Dell Have gone too simplistic with this model as the features are nothing to rave about

...The Dell inspiron laptop has an attractive classy look, it has a simplistic stream-line look. When I take it out its case I feel good about it because its not a big bulky embarassing computer thing. However, if your one for keeping everything clean and tidy and no smudges anywhere, then maybe you might be irritated by this laptop. With its glossy look smudges, smears and fingerprints stand out like a sore thumb. You feel like your constantly wiping it. You also have to watch what you wipe the laptop with as it is quite easy to scratch. A better idea for Dell would be to provide a cloth to clean it with, one they know wont damage your laptop. It would be a real bummer to scratch it while cleaning it. I also decided to get the colour black because there wasnt a lot of colours to choose from which I found quite dissapointing as...

Dell Inspiron 1501 turion 64x2 TL50

Advantages: 80gb hdd AMD duo processor 64x2 , 1024 DDR2 RAM
Disadvantages: No firewire, intergrated graphics, No S-Video Port

...This is a excellent computer for either home or small office. The downside to it is that it has no firewire installed, and no S-Video port, also intergrated graphics , which uses some of your memory , therefor reducing speed a little. Having said that the AMD 64x2 dual processor make multi - tasking easy. It has Vista Home installed , this makes finding and using programmes much easier.It has a good quality DVD writer for dual format discs. It is lightweight for mobile use and very robust. For a good value laptop this is about the best for its price. It also has some software added such as Roxio for copying cd's and dvd's, it also has a 60GB hard drive for storage. ...The first good thing about this laptop is that it’s a dell. Dell are a huge computing company, and are the biggest name around. The only bad thing about them is that you can usually only buy online. This is easy and your laptop should be delivered to your door within a week, however its not so good if you cant see a laptop before you buy it, so this is one thing that puts me of buying a laptop online. With dell, you do get great customer service, they promise to fix your laptop if it breaks and give you a new one if they cant fix it. This is an inspiron, and so follows the designs of all inspirons before, and probably after it. well designed little dell that never gets hot

Advantages: cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7
Disadvantages: few connectors,dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!

...We got the Dell insperon as a replacement for our trusty old Toshiba laptop we did want a red dell studio but budgetary reality kicked in and we went for this insperon 1545, here's my review for it. Laptop specifications improve all the time, so I wont go on to much about the spec and concentrate more on the laptop as a whole. Now if your new to laptops or computers in general i`ll give you a bit of buying advice. If you want to buy a dell laptop from there website DON'T buy the cheapest £299 model it`s a false economy, there isn't enough memory (just 1GB of ram) witch will mean that it wont be as quick as it could be moreover you will find that it will get slower as you start to fill it up with apps. ALWAYS buy the next model up if you are after a cheap laptop as you get a lot more for your money (as well as sufficient memory). build...

...Dell inspiron 1501 - turion 64 x2 - 15.4 TFT This is oldest of the three Dell's i have in my house, but they are still avaliabale for sale on line. a great buy at a cheap price, overall the Dell is very good With a large 15.4 screen the picture is very good, with a large ghapics card installed game and video are excellent. connectivity is very good, on Wifi and easy to connect, good sound can get a bit distorted at higher levels of sound. Well presented keyboard, mouse pad is easy to use, bnattery life can be a bit short on the standard battery, but a longer life battery is avaliable from most good stockist If your looking for a good laptop for cheap try this one, i got mine on Ebay new with a one year warranty for £200...
