Dell Latitude D830
Advantages: Security, Speed, Easy to travel with.
Disadvantages: Once some settings are change theres no going back.
...I own this Dell Latitude D830 it is a very fast, very reliable piece of equipment. It has dual core so its pretty good for gaming also with a very good video card. I wouldn't recommend it for the highest newest games but its very good to get you playing some of the recent games. It runs all sorts of O.S. so thats a plus. Compatible with most software. It can hold up to 4 gigs of ram. Easy lite weight, goof for the average business man and or student. The look is sorta unique in its own way. Also mines has the finger print scanner, good for protection password and easy access to password protected items. Comes with some good dell utilities too. Such as blue tooth, secure storage, embassy security, and also my favorite a TRACKER. So if it is ever lost or stolen you can call tell and they can track it down. So all in all its a very good...

Dell Latitude D630
Advantages: Light, fast, and Simple
Disadvantages: short battery life
...i have three DELL latops now this one is used for work, its qiute good for what it's for, It has bluetooth, WIFI, and built in broadband modem
On Wifi the connection is very fast but on broadband modem is painfuly slow, this could be because it is on T- Mobile, the sceen is small but it does the job. the intel Dou core 2 is very fast.
Spares are expensive but that is how DELL makes most of it profits, Value for money i would say is quite good, a Sony or Tosh at the same spec is £100's more, battery life is a bit short on a standard battery, and at about a £100 more for the extra life battery its a problem
Overall not a bad Laptop for work, wolud not say it would be good as a home laptop....

Dell Latitude LS500
Advantages: Very Easy to use, fast
Disadvantages: Cost
...means enter or execute depending what you have put the pointy thing on. The software to write Ciao reports called Word is in there as is the one called Excel which does all your sums and keeps a record of your figures for you. There is also Outlook so you can send people letters without troubling the Post Office. Just like a big computer it also connects to the internet so you can keep up to date with all my reviews in Ciao.
Seriously though the Dell Latitude series are excellent notebook PCs. Very stylish and easy to use they are an excellent choice....

Dell Latitude D820 PC Notebook
Advantages: very powerful machine. Excellent support from Dell
Disadvantages: None
...I left my old company a couple of months ago and took up my new position with my current company who very kindly issued me with a brand new Dell Latitude D820 laptop. I've had an opportunity to put it through its paces for the last 8 weeks and this review will cover my experiences to date.
In terms of specification this laptop is much more powerful than my old one.
For starters it has a dual core processor. For those of you not familiar with dual core, this means that the main processor actually consists of 2 processors within a single chip. Each processor or 'core' can be used to perform a different task. E.g. one may be running Microsoft Office applications whilst the other could be running an application that plays your music files.
This is slightly different to having a computer that has 2 discrete CPUs and there are logistical...

Dell Latitude D500
Advantages: Good build quality
Disadvantages: Extremely slow
...the task tray and then feverishly tries to rectify the performance shortcomings. Connecting the laptop to a monitor slows the performance even more for some reason.
Battery life? I'm lucky if I get more than two hours out of it.
I felt confident purchasing the laptop through mail order, assured by 'in the know' computer product reviewers that Dell would never stamp their name on such a worthless product (even if it was their entry-level model) - just goes to show you can't trust in reputation alone. I can now confidently predict that I will never purchase another Dell computer again - once bitten ......

my aptitude for latitude
Advantages: light & fast
Disadvantages: price
...so I am quoting from Intel -
"With Intel® Core?2 Duo desktop processor, you'll experience revolutionary performance, unbelievable system responsiveness, and energy-efficiency second to none. And, you won't have to slow down for virus scan, multiple compute intensive programs, or multimedia downloads-these desktop processors are up to 40 percent faster with improved energy-efficiency"
hmmmn, I have to take their word for it.
The machine
-------------------
When I first took it out of the box I was surprised that it was slightly smaller than my old work latitude & about 1/3 lighter. The wide screen display (WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution is a sharp, clear picture) means I will be able to watch films on the train but as usual with laptops the mouse/keypad is too cumbersome for my speedy typing. I will be picking up a USB mouse...

D800 - Style, Performance and value
Advantages: Quiet, High performance, Great screen
Disadvantages: See review
...The Dell Latitude D800 - In my experience a good laptop with some great features, against the tough competition of its rivals that i had to pick it between i was very happy with my choice.
The best bit about it is the 15.4-inch flatscreen LCD screen, its weighs it down slightly but the quality of the screen is just what i was looking for.
I was pleased to see 4 USB ports, FireWire port, an S-Video port, and a VGA port. Quite unusual for a notebook. Network connectivity is via 100MB Ethernet or the Dell TrueMobile wireless solution. Also Dell include a smartcard just under the PC card slot, very useful for buisness's for security reasons.
The keyboard is very comfortable and not only does it have a touchpad but also a pointing stick. The video card that comes as standard is the nVidia GeForce FX Go 5650, very useful for high...

Inspiring Inspiron from Dell
Advantages: Good spec, reasonable price, great processor
Disadvantages: The piano black surface attracts dust and dirt.
...I purchased the Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop back in January for my daughter's birthday. I had a limited budget but wanted to get her something with decent enough spec for playing computer games should she wish to do this, and a large hard drive as she is a big fan of making videos on her digital camera and downloading music - two things which can eat up hard drive space.
I did a fair bit of research before purchasing and decided I wanted to get the best spec I possibly could for my money and the Inspiron ticked all the boxes. I paid £399 in January 2009 in Currys for the laptop which was the absolute limit on my budget.
The Dell I purchased has a dark blue coloured lid, however the rest of it is a shiny piano black which looks lovely. I would have preferred metal for the mousepad area - it feels sturdier and doesn't seem to attract...

Dell Latitude D610 is a reliable choice
Advantages: Light-weight for size; screen is not matte finish, so glare is reduced and leaves no fingerprints
Disadvantages: Latitude D610 is an older model; only 2 slots of 1G memory; no microphone
...In my opinion, this computer is suitable for users who need a reliable laptop computer without a lot of specific technical requirements. It performs very well for the basic requirements. For its size, it is portable and light-weight at 5.4 lbs. Its screen is matte finished, thus there are no finger prints on the screen and it reduces the glare.
However, as it is an older laptop model, it may not be the best value for money these days. This particular model only has only 2 slots of 1G memory, thus, if the potential buyer is looking for a higher specification model. Additionally, as an older model there is no built in web cam and no microphone.
In my opinion, the Dell Latitude D610 is a durable choice that maximises speed and efficiency given the size and weight. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend....

Dell Latitude D505
Advantages: Looks smart and has firewire
Disadvantages: Screen lift up button is a bit noddy
...Dell Latitude D505 Specification:
Pentium M 1.60Ghz
512 Mb
40 Gb
RJ45 connecton
2200BG Wireless
Modem
DVD ROM with writer
This is a smart looking laptop, although the screen release catch is very noddy and flimsy. It has a firewire connection so you can connect a digital camera to it for instance which is rather handy and a nice feature. The mouse pad is really nice and has smooth movement, which is great as some acer laptops I've used recently have been really slow sticky movement.
It has built in wireless, however it doesn't have an external switch to enable or disable which is a little annoying. Same with bluetooth, it supports bluetooth but there is no external switch to disable or enable it. There is also no phsical light that shows you your wireless or bluetooth connectivity status, which to be honest is really...
