Dell 725 color printer

Advantages: fast
Disadvantages: does not print in true black ink color

...This printer has NEVER printed in true (or even close...) black "color". Contacting Dell support, I was told "your printer is no longer under warranty", so they would not even offer assistance. I never used it much (it was bundled with the laptop), so now when I needed it for a project, it is very disappointing that it does not work. I have downloaded and installed the "latest" driver (from 2006!) and that still did not help. I re-ran the printers test pattern and head cleaner, and no black ever printed. The test pattern is blue, pink, yellow and brownish-green. Given other's comments here about the black being a greenish-grey, I would never buy another single-cartridge printer again. I would definitely suggest you purchase a printer that has a dedicated black cartridge. Fast speed accounts for nothing if the colors are screwy!...

...I bought this Dell printer several months ago when my old printer broke down. I have never really needed to print much (only the occasional essay or B-day card), so I decided to go for this cheap Dell 720 photo printer. I looked for the cheapest printer I could find and I believe this one cost between £30-35 on the Dell website. I have just checked on the website and I don?t think they even sell this version anymore. A newer version the ?Dell 725? has replaced the 720 and is now the cheapest model that Dell sells in the UK (at £35). Inspiring Inspiron from Dell

Advantages: Good spec, reasonable price, great processor
Disadvantages: The piano black surface attracts dust and dirt.

...I purchased the Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop back in January for my daughter's birthday. I had a limited budget but wanted to get her something with decent enough spec for playing computer games should she wish to do this, and a large hard drive as she is a big fan of making videos on her digital camera and downloading music - two things which can eat up hard drive space. I did a fair bit of research before purchasing and decided I wanted to get the best spec I possibly could for my money and the Inspiron ticked all the boxes. I paid £399 in January 2009 in Currys for the laptop which was the absolute limit on my budget. Disadvantages: bit dark on photos

...coloured text and logos is still a lot better than inkjet printers. The printer in itself is really fast, dell claims this one can do about 25 pages a minute, however in testing I actually managed to get nearly 30 pages out of this, and even got 31 pages on the third time I tested it, so perhaps 30 pages per minute is more accurate for this printer. All of this great quality and even greater speeds does however come at a price, and quite a high price for a printer. You should be able to get one of these for a bout £100, or maybe cheaper if you look around for one, most inject of good quality are about £50, and even though this printer in double the price of a good inkjet printer, I think it is also double the print quality and a lot better speeds than most inkjet printers are too. So this is a great printer to buy if you do have to money...

well designed little dell that never gets hot

Advantages: cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7
Disadvantages: few connectors,dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!

...,vga,mic in and head phone and a handy memory card slot at the front, oh and theirs a small web cam and mic at the top of the screen witch is fun to play with. one thing I really liked about this laptop was how cool and quite it is, my old Toshiba used to get quite hot so I had to be careful were I put it. so far the dell hasn't even broken in to a sweat! performance ---------------- If you took my advice and got the next one up from the basic model you will be quite pleased by how fast and nippy it is, I know that has a lot to do with windows 7 but if you get a dual core model with at least 3GB of memory it will zipp along nicely. One thing to note. dell use 64-bit versions of windows so if you have an existing printer or scanner you may have to hunt around for 64-bit drivers before they will work properly on this laptop. I realised one product was not compatible with the others when I looked at the email invoice (within 24hrs) so emailed them back straight away to say please can you not ship and can I swap for another product. On the Dell Business website top right hand corner 'view all' drop down menu of the site there is a link to a page where it says this is fine within 7 days although you have to pay £20 admin. I thought not great but its my fault and the other product was cheaper anyway so I could swallow the £20 charge happily. i then had a email response saying a sales rep will call to sort it out. Instead I actually got a curtesy call from despatch rep a few hours later to say they have shipped the product. I told him not to ship but he said its done now. It has done me well for school projects and just printing stuff. Dell Inspiron 1545 - good entry level laptop

...The Dell Inspiron 1545 is an easy to use entry level laptop. Unlike two years ago when I bought my previous laptop, you can now get a number of Dell computers (of which this is one) direct from high street retailers. This is good if you want it in a rush and want a nearby place to handle any issues, but has the disadvantage that you can't customise your laptop to your own requirements to the same extent that you can if you buy it direct from Dell (which takes several weeks). Because Dell are so good at allowing customisation, you need to be very careful when you buy that you actually get the one you need - they are not all the same, so you can't just go into a shop and say "Give me your Inspiron 1545" - you need to be sure that it e.g. has a suitable processor, enough memory and a big enough hard drive for your needs. Dell Color Printer 725

Advantages: Cheap, Easy to use, relatively fast
Disadvantages: Only takes Colour Cartridges, not a viable option for regular printing

...I got the printer bundled in free with a Laptop, and its very bare bones. My biggest problem with it is that it only takes colour cartridges. This means to produce black ink documents, usually what most people print out, it mixes 2 colours to produce a black effect. It never quite manages it and your prints will look sort of greeny grey. Also, at £15 a cartridge from Dell, it seems quite alot to pay. The printer has a reasonable speed for home use and is easy to use, although the Dell software is quite intrusive when printing and sometimes I wish it would go away. The product is suited for light home use, although due to the fact that there is no single black ink cartridge there are much better printers out there for arguably a more reasonable price. The dell inspiron laptop is it a good buy!

Advantages: The look of the dell inspiron laptop seems more classy then other notepads. It is simplistic.
Disadvantages: Maybe Dell Have gone too simplistic with this model as the features are nothing to rave about

...The Dell inspiron laptop has an attractive classy look, it has a simplistic stream-line look. When I take it out its case I feel good about it because its not a big bulky embarassing computer thing. However, if your one for keeping everything clean and tidy and no smudges anywhere, then maybe you might be irritated by this laptop. With its glossy look smudges, smears and fingerprints stand out like a sore thumb. You feel like your constantly wiping it. You also have to watch what you wipe the laptop with as it is quite easy to scratch. A better idea for Dell would be to provide a cloth to clean it with, one they know wont damage your laptop. It would be a real bummer to scratch it while cleaning it. I also decided to get the colour black because there wasnt a lot of colours to choose from which I found quite dissapointing as...
