Reviews of delonghi coffee machines
Delonghi magnifica for serious coffee drinkers
Review of Delonghi EAM3200S Espresso by
honeydo
Advantages: Heats up quickly. Takes coffee beans or ground coffee.
Disadvantages: A little noisy on automatic coffee grinding.
...The machine does not do filter coffee. It grinds beans or you can use ground coffee. You cannot use instant, however with the cost of this machine one would not want to use instant! It makes a wonderful cup of coffee, or if you wish two at a time. The coffee is always hot. There are adjustments for coffee grinding strength and the amount of hot water used depending on size of cup. The arm for frothing the milk is superb and the milk gets really hot and frothy. The machine is easy to keep clean. It has a light to let you know when it is time to descale the machine. The used coffee grouts drop into a container which is easy to remove and clean. A small light comes on when this container needs emptying. This machine is for serious coffee drinkers because it is quite expensive. Having had a similiar machine before I personally...

Delonghi EC330S Espresso Machine
Review of Delonghi EC330S by
nodoubtaboutit
Advantages: well priced, very easy to use
Disadvantages: steam arm is temperamental
...I bought the Delonghi EC330S after realising I was slowly emptying my bank account paying for numerous Starbucks' every week (even more after they opened one a two minute walk from my flat).
Definite plus point in its appearance, it looks stylish and fits in well in modern kitchens especially.
It does make good coffee, and although you need to warm the machine up, once you're used to doing this it really isn't a hassle.
Although the previous reviewer recommended stocking up on pods, I would advise anyone to either buy coffee beans and a grinder or buy fresh coffee ground for espresso machines, as pods don't really make the most of having a machine such as this.
A disadvantage of having this product are the steam arm is very temperamental and sometimes just doesn't emit much steam (despite being thoroughly cleaned). Also, if you want...

A Super Espresso Machine
Review of Delonghi EN 680 Latissima Nespresso by
mikeywhitto
Advantages: Very stylish and easy to use
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive
...The Delonghi EN 680 Latissima Nespresso can create a more or less perfect cup if espresso. It is completely unique with it's patented extraction to aid the flow of water through the ground coffee. Nespresso's specially designed coffee-filled capsules are used to give the unique taste you only get with Nespresso. A bit pricey at £300 but certainly a long term investment.
Style
The Latissima Nespresso is very stylish (see picture) and is a great add to any kitchen. The silver and black frame works very well together and the buttons make the machine very high tech when it is actually very easy to use.
Ease of Use
The Latissima Nespresso is very easy to use, just as easier or maybe even easier than other espresso makers - simply insert a capsule and the machine does all the work for you. After brewing is completed...

Deep Purple Likes to Grind Coffee!
Review of Delonghi KG39 by
Necormancer
Advantages: Does the job consistantly, Easy to use!
Disadvantages: Breakable parts, Minimum of 4 cups at 1 time.
...looked inside this grinder, i thought "Oh no, how are those little blades going to grind 84g of beans?", i felt them and they didn't feel sharp at all. Put i put 4 cups of espresso beans (Illy) inside it, and setted it to 4, and grinded, and wow! What a surprise, it was grinding well and consistantly! It was a maximum of 15 seconds till i could take the coffee out and use it in my DeLonghi machine, but it looked like a very good grind indeed. I was impressed. I tried the coffee and yes, it tasted better than ground coffee. So, cheers to a nice cup of coffee!
However, i was expecting it could fit more into it. If you're doing a party with coffee (Trust me, i would!) 84g isn't much at one time. But still, for someone at home, a teenager who wants a quick grind to have a lovely cup of coffee to get rid of the blues of the day with, this works...

Wish I could agree
Review of DeLonghi Caffe Firenze by
lyntmirh
Advantages: slick, quick and easy to use
Disadvantages: not hot enough for me
...I can't remember the last time I knowingly drank instant coffee and no, it's not a 'snob' thing. It's just that I have so many different implements and appliances for making the 'real stuff' that it seems wrong not to use them.
Anyway, back to the plot.
I too was seduced by the clean good looks of the DeLonghi and I almost knocked over two slow moving people in my rush to the till.
Could it really be. Was this the answer to my dreams of the perfect cappucino?
Sadly, no.
Yes, the machine is sooooo easy to use. Yes it froths the milk automatically and yes, the espresso has a great crema.
BUT......
The frother delivers lukewarm milk into the cup and it's not the thick creamy substance that sticks to your upper lip and holds it's own against a deluge of cocoa powder or cinnamon.
It's also a bit fiddly to clean out the milk chamber (I...

Looks are not all they are cracked up to be
Review of Delonghi ICM50 by
iwillbefree
Advantages: Makes the coffee pretty quickly, and keeps it hot, and the looks are good.
Disadvantages: Jug leaks, price
...Have had this coffee machine for about 18 months now, and as the last reviewer said, the lid of my jug came off after only a few days. Never been near a dishwasher but was unable to get it replaced by De Longhi.
After a few months water also began to appear from underneath the machine, but I perserved with it, becauses it does make very nice coffee!
It has a control for making your coffee lighter or darker, and after many experiments could see that it made no discernable difference, coffee was always strong, but I like it strong so was happy.
The removable water jug with descaler was awkward as the centre section would float about and had to be pushed in.
Unfortunately I purchased on looks and on the basis that the manufacturer was well known and reliable. I would not recommend this to anyone, and really wish I had got my act...

Smooth Baby Yeh
Review of DeLonghi Caffe Firenze by
sheff22
Advantages: Delivers hot cappuccino quickly
Disadvantages: Milk Frothing device is fiddly to clean, and not dishwasher safe
...I have owned the Deonghi Caffe Firenze since Christmas. All in all I have no complaints about the machine as it does perform to a very high standard, delivering hot espressos and cappuccinos in a relatively short time. However I do find that the cleaning of the machine does take a while and has to be done with quite some precision otherwise the pipes used to create the frothy milk tend to get a bunged up. Also, it is recommended that the pipes be cleaned soon after using the machine. Which simply isn’t practical, you dont really want to be stood in the kitchen cleaning pipes if you have just made coffee for a visiting friend do you?
But apart from the cleaning of the patented milk frothing device, I find this a very easy to use machine and quite cheep compared to some of the other cappuccino makers on the market....

Anyone for coffee?
Review of Delonghi EC190 by
gunda96
Advantages: looks smart, good feautures, great machne if your a lover of coffee
Disadvantages: can pour uneven cups
...After moving in with some roomates about a year ago, and tasting the coffee they offered from the instant jar in the pantry, i knew something had to be done! And let me tell you there is no more spending dollars at the cafe every morning or night. The Delonghi EC190 is well worth it.
If your someone thats used to your instant coffee, or the inexpensive perculator that produces some decent, not spectacular, but decent coffee, than stick to it, however, if you crave something better, this machine is definately suitable if your a good lover of coffee.
im not to up to date with the technicalities, but apparantley one of the reasons it poduces good tasting coffee is that it has a 15 bar pump pressure. The Pump action Pump machines force the water through the coffee using an internal pump. This force is more intense than a steam machine...

I need a coffee fix - NOW!!
Review of Delonghi ICM2B by
ladyboymondaytofriday
Advantages: makes lovely coffee quickly - cheap - makes up to 10 cups
Disadvantages: bulky
...I bought my Delonghi ICM2B for £25 from Comet rather than pay £300+ for a coffee machine with more technology than NASA. I have a serious addiction to caffeine and without it cannot function at all first thing in the morning so I needed a cheap and quick no frills coffee maker and I got it with this beast.
EASE OF USE
It is a doddle to use the coffee maker. Filter papers are inserted into the top section that swings out to make it easier - coffee is measured out and put on top of the filter and the water reserved is topped up with water - The water line is marked off with the number of cups the machine will make - The maximum being 10.
Once the above has been done you are ready to roll and the power switch is flicked on and the water starts to warm - bubbling and quiet gurgling sounds as it makes its way up from the reserve...

Wake up and smell the Coffee
Review of Delonghi BAR 14 by
Noo68
Advantages: Quick, Pump action, 15 Bar pressure, small
Disadvantages: Can't get a decent size cup under the expresso filter
...I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago for £49.99, mine was actually called a delonghi trevisio, but it is this machine.
A small neat expresso coffee machine, with milk steamer/frother, this little box of tricks made a perfect cappuccino straight from the box.
I have to admit I was a little sceptical - I had been expecting to only be able to buy a steam action (3 - 4 bar pressure) machine for my budget - which was £75, so was delighted to find this pump action at an affordable price, but did wonder what would be skimped on to make it affordable.
The difference in the two actions is the quality of the expresso and more particulary the crema on the expresso (the frothy bit!!). I have to say I was not overly impressed with the first couple of expresso's i made. However I invested in a coffee pod adaptor for the BAR14 at the huge...
