Delonghi EC330S Espresso Machine

Advantages: well priced, very easy to use
Disadvantages: steam arm is temperamental

...I bought the Delonghi EC330S after realising I was slowly emptying my bank account paying for numerous Starbucks' every week (even more after they opened one a two minute walk from my flat). Definite plus point in its appearance, it looks stylish and fits in well in modern kitchens especially. It does make good coffee, and although you need to warm the machine up, once you're used to doing this it really isn't a hassle. Although the previous reviewer recommended stocking up on pods, I would advise anyone to either buy coffee beans and a grinder or buy fresh coffee ground for espresso machines, as pods don't really make the most of having a machine such as this. A disadvantage of having this product are the steam arm is very temperamental and sometimes just doesn't emit much steam (despite being thoroughly cleaned). Also, if...

Advantages: Inexpensive, makes good basic coffee

Thane direct steam mop - doesn't do what it says !

Advantages: Heats to steam quickly - probably heat of kills germs as steam is hot
Disadvantages: Leaves floors very, wet. End up double cleaning everything - covers poor - waste of space!

...Not impressed with the H20 steam mop product, which falls far short of the detailed TV advert performance. On hard floors it leaves them sopping wet, not so much of a problem on a matt finish amtico type floor but with laminate, there's no way you could leave it . Ended up with twice the work, having to use my superwonder mop to wipe all excess water to leave floor with decent finish when dry. Even on clean carpet which is just being freshened to kill any germs that might be in the carpet, it seems to roll any dirt in almost fluff balls which then have to be vacuumed again when it dries. It seems to double the work involved whatever the surface. The covers provided are also pretty poor in fit and quality with a tendency to come off - difficult to put back on with heat. ...of the house which may make you unpopular. It is great for producing a few coffees at a time but is very time consuming if you are needing several at one time. The result though is a very smooth, tasty espresso or frothy, creamy cappacinno. The 15 bar pump means it produces a fantastic coffee and i can definately put it up with those you buy from coffee shops. I have been very pleased with this machine and would highly recommend it. The only downside is the noise but apart from this it is a fantastic machine, fitting well into my kitchen and producing a very high quality cup of coffee....
