Denon is music and movies to your ears!

Advantages: quality, amazing sound, good looks, value for money
Disadvantages: no HDMI input (but thats changed on newer models)

...surprise really as you now get HDMI input and output in the newer models including DTS HD and True Dolby Digital HD. My 1907 is lacking in this area, which I?m quite sad about now, as I?ve recently upgraded to a PS3 and full HD TV. If I had the money, I would buy the 1910. That?s not to say I?m not happy with the 1907 though. It gets a lot of use in my lounge, in fact, we don?t watch tv without it. I use it for everything, the Wii (my wifes), the PS3, DVD?s, CD?s and SKY HD. It handles it all with finesse and class that you would expect from Denon. THE DESIRABLE DISTINCTIVE DENON

I paid £327 for the DF-102 System and £68.99 for the SF102 speakers as seperates, instore the system sells for £499.99. Denon's battleship receiver

Advantages: Perfect muscle amp, wide array of connections, ability to drive the most demanding speakers, remote control

The Denon shrugs its shoulders and gets down to work, no problem, the effects are steered around the room as if you were in a sphere of sound. Musical reply is average, there are certain imaging problems, instruments are not placed as preciely as they should be at this money and the bass can sound over blown and flabby even in direct stereo mode. The receiver does have an excellent DAC, it uses the highly acclaimed AL-24 Bit decoding process, which i have to say is very impressive. ...I bought this product about a year ago along with the tape player which you can also get and have been very happy with it. Having purchased Denon products before I had no problems in paying a bit extra for what I knew would be a top quality product. The DM30 offers exceptional sound quality both from cd and from the radio, it has a very stylish design with a metal fascia rather than a tacky plastic one which you get on cheaper Hi-Fis. You get a couple of very nice wood-effect speakers which look superb and are designed and produced for Denon by "Mission". The DM30 has RDS, RadioText (scrolls information broadcast from radio stations such as who the DJ is, news, etc.), EON, PTY and other features for the radio. DENON PMA250 SE, BEAUTIFUL AMP FOR THE PRICE.

Advantages: Amazing sound, punchy bass, nice disign.
Disadvantages: No remote control.

Having tried the amp with numerous other combinations of CD units, speakers and radio tuners in the shop I can honestly say that this amp goes well with anything, and that it seems to ‘bring the best’ out of any component. I ended up getting the base model Technics CD player (again more than adequate) and the Denon TU 260 Mk II tuner. As far as speakers go I scored a pair of Eltax C205 floorstanders (separate review) for £59. This bundle, including some half decent speaker cable came to £320. Roughly the price of a mid range mini system. But it is easily upgradeable and sounds (not to mention) looks so much better. Don’t be put off by the fact that it only produces 35 watts per channel.
