Award winning DVD player

Advantages: Fantastic picture quality, fantastic audio quality, great value
Disadvantages: not exactly cheap, a bit chunky looking

...I've just bought one of these. Oooh it's good. Really good. Here's why. It's a dead cool DVD player which is ideal if you have an HD ready telly and want to really enjoy your DVDs to the full. It has Dolby sound so is great if you hook it up to separate speakers, but pretty good if you don't, too. It comes in silver (well aluminium) or black, and compared to some DVD players it is quite chunky - about the thickness of a video recorder. I don't know why. I forgive it this though, as the picture quality is awesome. Really sharp. It has 1080 upscaling, which means it is fully HD compatible, and a detachable mains lead, which I couldn't see the point of until More Technically Minded Hubby (MTMH) explained that this is a Good Thing as it allows you to upgrade the cable and get even better quality. Worthy of the DVD player of the year award (2006)

It will play -R/RW recordable DVD and CD, MP3, WMA, JPEG files and it will also play DivX encoded discs, fantastic! It offers a very intuative on-screen set-up menu which is easily navigated using the remote. The range of settings isn't overwhelming but it is sufficient. After all what do you expect at this price? If you want everything then you'll either end up paying for it or you'll buy a piece of kit that suffers on component quality. Denon DVD-2800 an audio visual masterpiece

Advantages: Great picture and sound quality, Good build quality, Champagne gold finish looks nice

DVD Player that will make you happy...

Advantages: Simple to use, great playback
Disadvantages: Doesn't have many other features

...The Denon is a relatively cheawp product that allows seamless and flowing DVD playback. It has supervideo playback system and an integrated user interface that allows users to easily navigate the device without using the remote control (if needed). The device may not be that well known, but the Denon range have been an active supplier in providing adequate products at a reasonable price. The Dolby AC3 sound system is a great beginner software tool that gives an amateur viewer a better look at playback options. However note that if you are a more experienced DVD Player user, this device is not the one for you. The price is by far the best advantage and in terms of attractiveness, the Denon is quite basic in design. Overall though, a great product for a first buyer!...

DVD player for girls with a passion for fashion

The system is beautifully styled in a brushed silver effect with the fewest buttons possible on the front; so don’t lose the remote eh? Basically there’s an on/off switch, a volume, a function button, play, stop and search buttons. The controls are to the right of the unit, with the CD tray on the top left/centre, and a generously sized digital display underneath. The actual unit itself (Denon model number CD Receiver UD-M31) is small, taking up a footprint of around 21 x 30 cm, so will fit in quite easily in many places. 2 additional identical sized units are available for Minidisc and CD RW tasks if you so desire.
