Denon Do
Advantages: Sound quality
Disadvantages: Price compared to lesser rivals
...**Introduction**
I am very comfortable with my Hifi Setup at the moment and will not be upgrading for a while yet. I had been in the market for a second setup and Having looked for a small second system for my bedroom I knew Denon were one of the best brands in the mini hifi system field so I felt very comfortable about choosing this one of a couple of similar Sony DAB Systems. I eventually chose this D-M37 from Denon after hearing a demo of it in my local hifi store. Here is my verdict on the system.
**The Unit**
If you know much about Hifi Equipment then you will instantly recognise the Denon style with this Unit as it is pretty much standard Denon for a product of the type, The unit is available in either Black or as Silver (as shown in the picture). So what comes in the unit? well as standard you get the DAB Tuner which also...

THE DESIRABLE DISTINCTIVE DENON
Advantages: State of the Art Sound
Disadvantages: None that I know of
...Before I start regarding this system, a word of advice, really shop around, I personally saved over £100 by buying this over the internet compared with what the high street electrical stores were charging. I paid £327 for the DF-102 System and £68.99 for the SF102 speakers as seperates, instore the system sells for £499.99.
The Hi-Fi comes in two systems, the CD Player (DCD-F102) and a AM/FM Stereo-DAB Receiver (DRA-F102 DAB), both units are silver, and the Speakers are Silver with a removable black front cover. A Remote Control is also supplied with this system (which takes 2 AAA batteries) as well as a DAB indoor antenna.
Firstly I will explain the CD Player's Specifications:-
The measurements are as follows:-
250mm wide x 78mm high x 250 depth and the unit weighs 2.9kg.
The player only takes one CD.
The front...

DENON THE FARM
Advantages: Great looker, great noise maker.
Disadvantages: Size may be too small for some.
...Earlier in the year I decided I needed a new music system of some description. I didn?t have any requirements as such, as long as it reproduced CD playback in an excellent fashion, and also an RDS tuner would be a bonus too.
I fancied getting a stylish ?one-box? unit, but had read many negative reviews of the sub £200 systems often seen ? I feel they are designed to look good rather than sound good. Whilst a great looker is essential, you need to be able enjoy the music surely?
An avid reader of Stuff magazine, (see my earlier review?) I decided to browse a few back issues. A preview of the Denon M31 caught my eye, and after further research I discovered its predecessor, the M30, had won ?Best Mini System? award or something to that effect in What Hi-Fi for three years. I knew this was a good omen, and the M-31 had to be even...

Denon is music and movies to your ears!
Advantages: quality, amazing sound, good looks, value for money
Disadvantages: no HDMI input (but thats changed on newer models)
...Denons AVR-1907 is now discontinued. However, there are models that follow on from its greatness and improve as they go. The model numbers go up in size according to the model, funnily enough. So at this price point, this particular Denon AVR has gone from 1900 to 1910 (as the current model) thus the model before the 1907 was the 1906 and the one after was the 1908, well, you get the idea. Which each release the general product is improved. There are models both up and down, with Denon?s flagship Audio-Visual Receiver the AVR-4810 leading the way with 9.1 channels and more inputs than you can shake a stick at. Of course, the price reflects the quality. The AVR-4810 is priced around £2,600. For those of us with less money to burn the models in the lower range of the spectrum are a more reasonable price yet still offer outstanding sound...

Denons mid-ranged upscaled goodness
Advantages: excellent upscaling, wealth of play back features
Disadvantages: feels cheap
...In the modern era (the naughties) the call for DVD players is still strong. The question is though, why would you buy a DVD player when in this time of High-Definition, Blu ray players are becoming more and more common, cheaper and present in most shops? Well, there might be a few reasons. Perhaps you have a large DVD collection and don?t want to start again with blu ray and aren?t jumping on the band wagon. Or maybe you have a blu ray player that isn?t so great with DVD play back? Or some other reason. I bought this Denon 1930 a couple of years ago, before Blu Ray took a foot hold and before I ordered my PS3. I have got a reasonably large DVD collection and I wanted something good that could do the old discs justice. Denon have a certain way with these things.
The aptly named Denon DVD 1930 is now discontinued. Like other Denon...

Denon DM31's quality shines
Advantages: Fantastic audio performance, small, stylish, durability
Disadvantages: Lacks DAB tuner
...Denon have an excellant reputation of producing home entertainment components of an awesome standard. They have produced over the years some fantastic benchmark products, and the Denon DM30 is no exception. Voted as the best micro hifi for atleast three years, Denon DM30 is an excellant product.
With micro systems available from just £50, some people may find it hard to justify spending about £220, but for those who desire good audio perfomance this is an essential product. I can provide three good fundamental reasons to spend more money when purchising a micro hifi, they are
1) Sound. A more expensive micro system, such as the Denon DM31 will provide MUCH better audio performance. You will be more enganged in the music and will want to listen to more music.
2) Durability. The lifetime of cheaper micro hifis under £150 is litte...

Denon's battleship receiver
Advantages: Perfect muscle amp, wide array of connections, ability to drive the most demanding speakers, remote control
Disadvantages: Price, weight, setup, THX Ultra 2 required to bring out the best
...First thigs first, if you have suffered a back problem or a hernia than do not attempt to lift this monster. (29Kg)
Once hoisted out of the box, first impressions is that this is a real quality piece of equipment! The weight and the gold finish give all the right signs of a top notch piece. Connecting your components can be daunting, but if you are spending this amount of money, most people should know what they are doing! Anyway, if you are not that experienced, the Denon is well layed out and logical, to a certain degree!
Right the beast is ready to be fired up; the recevier comes with a standard power cable, throw this away and buy a new one, even if it is as little as £70! It makes a huge difference. That done and I brace myself as i push the heavy weight power button. An array of lights greats me and a couple of clicking...

Denon DM30
Advantages: Great sound quality, Very stylish, Good build quality
Disadvantages: User interface not user-friendly enough
...I bought this product about a year ago along with the tape player which you can also get and have been very happy with it.
Having purchased Denon products before I had no problems in paying a bit extra for what I knew would be a top quality product.
The DM30 offers exceptional sound quality both from cd and from the radio, it has a very stylish design with a metal fascia rather than a tacky plastic one which you get on cheaper Hi-Fis. You get a couple of very nice wood-effect speakers which look superb and are designed and produced for Denon by "Mission".
The DM30 has RDS, RadioText (scrolls information broadcast from radio stations such as who the DJ is, news, etc.), EON, PTY and other features for the radio. It has input and output sockets in the back so you can connect other AV devices to it. I currently have a tape player...

DENON PMA250 SE, BEAUTIFUL AMP FOR THE PRICE.
Advantages: Amazing sound, punchy bass, nice disign.
Disadvantages: No remote control.
...I set out to buy some hi fi on a budget of £300, and was expecting to take home an reasonable integrated ‘mini’ type system. People I had spoken to always raved about the super sound quality of ‘separates,’ but everything I had seen in so far had one too many 0’s on the price tag for the full set up.
I bought a magazine (What hi fi) to check out what I was up against, and was pleasantly shocked when I turned to the new ‘New Year’s sale’ page of one of the retailers. The prices were better than reasonable, and it meant that I could now afford to go for separates.
I knew that Denon were pretty prestigious, and the PMA 250 amp was still affordable. I visited the local retailer, where I was able to take some of my CDs along and put the amp through its paces without neighbours banging...
