Clear, Beautiful Skin Overnight!
Advantages: very effective, smells good, can obtain samples before buying it
Disadvantages: expensive
...?t effective after a few weeks.
Dermalogica produce a range of products for different skin types on which consultants will advise you. If you want a free consultation they will be happy to oblige or you can take a look at their website www.dermalogica.com.
♦About the Product♦
Medicated Clearing Gel is an overnight treatment designed to help clear skin while you sleep. I love the idea of overnight treatments because you don?t have to worry about whether they?re working you just put it on go to sleep and wake up in the morning to admire the results (hopefully!)
Before you go to sleep you simply apply a thin layer of the treatment where needed and allow it to dry
The product is medicated with a 2% Salicylic Acid treatment that helps to clear existing acne blemishes and also destroys bacteria, deep-cleans the follicles (the...

Dermalogica Medicated Clearing Gel
Advantages: clears spots, stops inflammation, doesn't dry out the skin
Disadvantages: not available from high street shops, price not affordable to everyone
...This is an amazing product. It never fails to stop the spots from developing, even if they've already gone red and inflamed.
It's active ingredient is salicylic acid which helps to dry out the spots. However it also has Retinol (vitamin A) which helps to condition the skin and prevent it from over-drying. Some people don't take retinol well, so if you've had any problems with it in the past, I wouldn't recommend this.
Other ingredients include ginger, zinc acetate, zinc sulfate, rosemary, sage, citronella.
I usually use it in combination with Dermalogica Skin Refining Mask.
This product is not available from the high street shops, but certain beauty salons sell dermalogica products.
It can also be found online in a number of stores for about £22....

Dermalogica 'clearing' skin wash
Advantages: made skin less greasy
Disadvantages: price, completely changed texture of my skin, didnt work.
...I bought this face wash as part of a set of the Dermalogica Medibac products. I have only been using it for 3 days with the other products in the kit and already it has made my skin considerably worse. I now have sore, rough skin around my nose and the same on my chin and have had a significant increase of small white heads appearing where they weren't before.
I have suffered from acne since my teens and am now coming to the tail end of it (or so i thought) and bought the Dermalogica products as a last ditch attempt to clear it up. Unfortunately it has done the opposite and my skin is worse than when I started. It has partially cleared up some of my larger spots but has brought out others and it has made my skin uncomfortable and itchy.
I do not have sensitive skin but it may be that these products are too strong for me and so have...

Special clearing booster- not much special here!
Advantages: fragrance free
Disadvantages: expensive, irritates skin, didn't clear my acne
...I paid around £30 for this, from a local beauty salon. You can buy this from any local dermalogica stockist (hair and beauty salons) or purchase online. £30 is about average for this product, but you can get it cheaper.
At the age of 26 I suddenly developed acne. It felt and look pretty bad so I decided, being a fan of Dermalogica products, that I would try the special clearing booster.
The packaging is white and grey which are the usual colours used for Dermalogica- it is easily identifiable as being manufactured by this group. Before use you should cleanse your skin thoroughly (Dermalogica products are recommended- but at around £30 for a bottle of cleanser- they would be, wouldn't they?!). It comes in a small bottle (30ml) but a little goes a long way!
The directions do not make it clear whether this should be applied...

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
Advantages: Gentle exfoliator, suitable for all skin types
Disadvantages: Quite expensive - but worth it
...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About Dermalogica
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dermalogica is a well known skin care system researched and developed by The International Dermal Institute.
What Dermalogica say - "Dermalogica is founded on the belief that good skin care is not about pampering or luxury...any more than brushing your teeth or washing your hair is! Call us no-nonsense, but we believe that consumers want results, not frilly packaging or overblown hype. And we've found that consumers and leading skin care professionals alike in over 40 countries agree! "
Now, I have never been that big a fan of Dermalogica products but I absolutely love Daily Microfoliant and also their Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque, I find their products very hit and miss.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
Advantages: Doesn't dry out skin, nice texture
Disadvantages: Hard to get hold of
...I had been using dermalogica cleanser and toner and found that it was working well with my skin - so I anted to delve a little deeper into the product range. I wanted a product which would make my skin feel clean, smooth and fresh while keeping the moisture in and I have to say I've found it in this.
Dermalogica products are natural and makes your skin feel good without feeling like its been stripped of its natural oils etc.
Daily Microfoliant is gentle enough to use on a daily basis - however, I've been using it every other day and it find works fine like that. I paid £22 for the 75g size and so far this has lasted me 5 months and I still have quite a lot left so it is excellent value for money.
This Microfoliant is in a powder form & you need to sprinkle some on your hand and mix with a little bit of water so it becomes a paste...
dermalogica active moist lotion
Advantages: lovely smell, verry hyrdating and lightweight
Disadvantages: have to use with other dermalogica products not so good on its own
...dermalogica active moist is recommended for skin prone to oiliness and is a lightweight lotion which provides daily moisture protection to combat surface dehydration. It contains silk amino acids, and natural botanicals of lemon, cucumber and burdock with no artificial colour or fragrance.
It comes in a slim white tube - i do hate pot moisturisers they seem so unhygienic so this was great in that respect and it really lasts for ages despite the steep prices dermalogica products do work out to be quite economical over a long period. Always get your skin mapped by a dermalogica professional before purchasing to avoid all that trial and error when you start using a new regime.
I would say this moisturiser is lovely, light and easily absorbed when used with a full regime of dermalogica cleansers and toners and scrubs. When I first bought...
Dermalogica
Advantages: great products, good samples
Disadvantages: Price
...Dermalogica is very different from most other skincare brands. As I mentioned in my other dermalogica review, it should be recommended by a professional. My local salon does free facial mapping, where your face is divided into areas and each area individually examined by a beautician. A ‘prescription’ is then drawn up depending on your skin type and what you hope to achieve from the skincare range. This is important, as many things that I have been recommended would have been things I wouldn’t have chosen myself.
Dermalogica develops products that are environmentally friendly, that all ingredients are from eco safe sources and that packaging is recycled. They also don’t test on animals.
All products are non-comedonegenic and don’t contain lanolin, artificial colours or fragrances and don’t...
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Advantages: Only need a little bit, excellent product
Disadvantages: a bit pricey!
...I have been using Dermalogica products for around 6 months now - I was a Clarins addict before but I found that after a while it wasn't working as well as it used to. So Dermalogica was recommended to me by a family friend. I had always seen good press coverage of it but had never really seen it in the shops. I now know that you either need to buy it from an authorised retailer or on the internet. What I think really sells it for me is that it is formulated my actual dermatologists rather than cosmetic companies & the ingredients are all natural so you know what you are using, which I always find reassuring.
Anyway to the product! Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel is very special to me. It is soap free which means it doesn't dry out your skin, it is a clear slightly runny gel and you only need a tiny amount for your face which...
Dermalogica Active Moist
Advantages: Really hydrating, great base for make up, lasts ages
Disadvantages: Cost
...a present. I was a little disaponited with my gift but after trying it I was really pleased as my problemed skin cleared up quite quickly and I knew it was down to the dermalogica. Whether this was down to the face wash, toner or moisturiser (or the whole lot) I can not tell you.
The lotion is really easy to apply and comes in a tube. It is even light enough to wear under make up and I find that it is the perfect base for it. The smell is quite nice, but a bit non descriptive really- not horrible and not nice. It lasts for ages- I buy 100ml bottles and have not bought one for six months. That's how long it lasts. It does refresh your face and leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated. I always feel really clean after using it- like it really is cleaning and soothing my pores deep down.
I think this product is best used as part...
