Dermalogica Medicated Clearing Gel
Advantages: clears spots, stops inflammation, doesn't dry out the skin
Disadvantages: not available from high street shops, price not affordable to everyone
...This is an amazing product. It never fails to stop the spots from developing, even if they've already gone red and inflamed.
It's active ingredient is salicylic acid which helps to dry out the spots. However it also has Retinol (vitamin A) which helps to condition the skin and prevent it from over-drying. Some people don't take retinol well, so if you've had any problems with it in the past, I wouldn't recommend this.
Other ingredients include ginger, zinc acetate, zinc sulfate, rosemary, sage, citronella.
I usually use it in combination with Dermalogica Skin Refining Mask.
This product is not available from the high street shops, but certain beauty salons sell dermalogica products.
It can also be found online in a number of stores for about £22....

Clear, Beautiful Skin Overnight!
Advantages: very effective, smells good, can obtain samples before buying it
Disadvantages: expensive
...?t effective after a few weeks.
Dermalogica produce a range of products for different skin types on which consultants will advise you. If you want a free consultation they will be happy to oblige or you can take a look at their website www.dermalogica.com.
♦About the Product♦
Medicated Clearing Gel is an overnight treatment designed to help clear skin while you sleep. I love the idea of overnight treatments because you don?t have to worry about whether they?re working you just put it on go to sleep and wake up in the morning to admire the results (hopefully!)
Before you go to sleep you simply apply a thin layer of the treatment where needed and allow it to dry
The product is medicated with a 2% Salicylic Acid treatment that helps to clear existing acne blemishes and also destroys bacteria, deep-cleans the follicles (the...

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Advantages: Only need a little bit, excellent product
Disadvantages: a bit pricey!
...I have been using Dermalogica products for around 6 months now - I was a Clarins addict before but I found that after a while it wasn't working as well as it used to. So Dermalogica was recommended to me by a family friend. I had always seen good press coverage of it but had never really seen it in the shops. I now know that you either need to buy it from an authorised retailer or on the internet. What I think really sells it for me is that it is formulated my actual dermatologists rather than cosmetic companies & the ingredients are all natural so you know what you are using, which I always find reassuring.
Anyway to the product! Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel is very special to me. It is soap free which means it doesn't dry out your skin, it is a clear slightly runny gel and you only need a tiny amount for your face which...

Dermalogica special cleansing gel
Advantages: hypoallergenic, all natural ingredients, no chemicals
Disadvantages: expensive
...perfume or colour the face wash like other companies do.
It is like a clear gel, that you squeeze a 5p size amount onto your hand and mix with water. Dermalogica products are all water based, so you don't need to use a lot to make it foam, it does that with more water rather then more product.
The face wash smells very nice without needing perfumes added to it, its kind of a sharp, awakening flowery smell.
The packaging is very professional, but a little plain, white with black and grey writing is all there is too it, but that in itself makes it stand out on the shelves! It isn't in normal shops, the only places i can find it is at beauty salons and online.
It has balm mint, Lavender extracts and Saponaria in it, to soothe and soften skin, and lavender is an antispetic. It doesn't take any essential moisture out of the skin as that...

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Advantages: purifies the skin without over-drying it
Disadvantages: a bit more expensive so not affordable to everyone
...Praise the day when I found Dermalogica skin care!
I never go anywhere without Special Cleansing Gel. It effectively removes all make-up and dirt without drying out the face. It's suitable for oily and combination skin.
Special Cleansing Gel comes in three sizes: travel size bottle 100ml, normal size bottle 250ml and finally a huge bottle 500ml.
Dermalogica range is a bit more expensive, but a little goes a long way - just a little squeeze is enough for the entire face. It smells ok too. Some facial cleansing gels have a horrible perfumed smell or pharmaceutical smell. Although it contains lavender, you wouldn't even know that it's in there by smelling it.
I recommend using the gel with a facial loofa to exfoliate the skin and deep-cleanse. This is one of the best facial cleansers out there....

Special Cleansing Gel Dermalogica
Advantages: It just fantastic
Disadvantages: Need to be cheaper but still good value for money as a little goes along way
...Special cleansing gel
I was having a terrible time with my skin and I went to a small salon near me for a facial. Whilst in there, she used and recommend Dermalogica. I thought very pricey and a bit suspect as I know how salons work being a Hair dresser by trade. She gave me a sheet of paper which had all the details of what she used and were she used it. This I found very handy as I forgot all the lotions and potion by the time I walked out of the door. So for Christmas I asked for three of the products. Special cleansing gel, Pre cleanse and Active moist.
Packaging
It looks fantastic nice and simple black and white print and very clear text. The lid gives you just the right amount even whilst scrabbling about in the shower. I would recommend unless you want the biggest the Wash 250ml, use along with the Pre-cleanses 150ml...

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Advantages: Soap free, leaves skin very clean, smooth & soft
Disadvantages: Price? Worth it though!
....
This cleanser is like a wash cleanser and its a clear gel that foams up in your wet hands, its fragrance free and you only need to use a tiny amount each time, this is a gret product if you dont have much time as its really quick to use and you can just wash it off quickly and easily.
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel leaves my skin feeling really clean and feeling very soft and smooth, my open pores have been dramatically reduced since i started using this too, this is great at removing make up and does it very effectively removing every little trace.
I love this product as i have combination skin and my skin has never looked so clear and matt since i started using this. It keeps my skin hydrated too and doesnt leave it feeling tight like with some other cleansers.
This cleanser is fairly expensive but i think its worth it as its...

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Advantages: Leaves your skin feeling lovely and calm
Disadvantages: Expensive
...months and that's washing twice a day.
Dermalogica do recommend you seek specialist advice before buying their products which is why they are only available through beauty salons, you can find the nearest one to you on www.dermalogica.com. You can buy a travel pack of dermalogica products for £20.50 which includes the special cleansing gel, a toner, moisturiser and exfoliator and other samples of face masks. Dermalogica do provide free samples of a lot of their products so you can try them before you commit yourself to the cost. I have recommended this cleanser and other dermalogica products to lots of my friends as I am so happy with how clear my skin is looking.
I would not go back to using anything else now....

review: special cleansing gel >>pros and cons
Advantages: gentle yet effective in blemish removal and daily cleansing
Disadvantages: strong lavendar smell
...very simple white with grey writing on the side and some product blurb in grey at the back and the larger size of 500ml comes with a pump top for easy dispensation. It contains balm mint and lavendar to soothe skin, quillaja sapnaria as a gentle foaming agent.
My experience with the product:
Initially I have to say i didnt like the gel, but as my friend - another dermalogica junkie later explained you have to really lather of the cleanser with water in your hands first before applying to your face (while i had been applying the gel straight onto the face and massaging). It has a rich and silky texture not unlike cream cleansers however it is a gel cleanser and once you rinse clean leaves skin incredibly clear without any dryness or tightness i have experienced with other cleansers, I even noticed some pimples literally dissapear after...

Dermalogica 'clearing' skin wash
Advantages: made skin less greasy
Disadvantages: price, completely changed texture of my skin, didnt work.
...I bought this face wash as part of a set of the Dermalogica Medibac products. I have only been using it for 3 days with the other products in the kit and already it has made my skin considerably worse. I now have sore, rough skin around my nose and the same on my chin and have had a significant increase of small white heads appearing where they weren't before.
I have suffered from acne since my teens and am now coming to the tail end of it (or so i thought) and bought the Dermalogica products as a last ditch attempt to clear it up. Unfortunately it has done the opposite and my skin is worse than when I started. It has partially cleared up some of my larger spots but has brought out others and it has made my skin uncomfortable and itchy.
I do not have sensitive skin but it may be that these products are too strong for me and so have...
