Derren Brown - what an amazing show!

Advantages: A brilliant night out
Disadvantages: Slightly scary

...I saw Derren Brown in Cardiff this week and he was absolutely amazing! He was funny, professional, clever and slightly scary! In all a great showman. He did a huge number of amazing tricks - walking on broken glass, reading people's minds, sending out subliminal messages that made people HAVE to go up to the stage! This is for you if you want a fun night out that will make you think, make you laugh and make you slightly afraid and totally in awe of the man who can tell what an entire audience is thinking! In all it was a great night out - as shown by the standing ovation that he got at the end! It was very like the tv series but much funnier and more in depth and therefore more interesting as you watch these tricks before your eyes and KNOW that he is the scariest man alive! :-)...

Advantages: Nice tricks to have in your top pocket

...I was traveling in Africa a few years back and while I was there I was earning my keep by painting stuff like flags of the world and African themes on this hostel in Cape Town. One day I was up the ladder mixing me primary colors as usual when I heard someone familiar shout my name from below. It was my last boss. Learn to Read your Partners MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Advantages: get a better memory, learn mind tricks and how to read people
Disadvantages: You will annoy friends with your greatness

...Derren Brown isn't a genious, he is not magic and he cannot walk on water. But he is a mentalist (Psychological magician) and he can do things using different practised techniques that others can't do. He IS amazing, he IS slightly scary and he IS the most entertaining magical performer I have ever seen. ...This book, written by Derren Brown himself - the scariest man in Britain, provides a great starting point for anyone interested in learning some of the theory behind Derren's impressive techniques. It has been well written and explains the basics of just about each subject that he incorporates into his television shows. He also has a very eccentric sense of humour, which makes the book rather amusing to read, aswell as being educational. It basically starts off explaining a little bit about magic, human perception and disillusionment before giving a particularly clever demonstration of how beliefs in religion can be changed. It's Magic, Jim, but not as we know it

Advantages: Original act, Simply amazing to watch, Even better live than on TV
