Derry - A tourist's opinion
Advantages: Cheap to get to and many tourist attractions
Disadvantages: The weather isn't always great
...My mum comes from Derry so I've spent a lot of time there over the years. However, this is really the first time I've seen it from a tourist's point of view.
My husband and I decided to go over and stay with my Aunt for a long weekend to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. My Aunt stays on the banks of the Foyle just 10 minutes walk from the city centre. I think one of the things I like most about Derry is that the city centre is very compact so everything can be reached on foot.
I've always found Derry a good base for visiting other towns and villages round about and the bus station on Foyle Street offers a good selection of day trips to various places including Knock Shrine, Dublin, the Donegal Highlands and Portrush where you'll find the Giant's Causeway.
Derry, itself, is a very picturesque little city with several...

Derry, everything about the night life.
Advantages: A factual guide to the city of Derrys` night life.
Disadvantages: Not endorsed by any of the companies mentioned.
...Derry is the second largest town in Northern Ireland. Besides its` extensive historical and political past, this city offers the best night life around. From pounding dance clubs, to relaxing pubs, to concert venues, there truely is something for everyone in Derry. I am going to take you on a guide of the cities` best night spots, so here w e go!
please note: The legal age for drinking alcohol in this country is 18.
THE BEST NIGHTCLUBS:
**SUGAR**,Shipquay street.
Hard hitting dance to relaxing r&b, this is arguably the most stylish and appealing club for the 18-28 crowd (over 21s on saturday nights). The complex consists of downeys` bar, "the poole room" and of course the stylish night club sugar. Relax by the poole tables, chat up the locals in Downeys`, or dance the night away on the dance floor at Sugar.

Let me take you across the water...
Advantages: Friendly People, Compact City Centre, Great Nightlife
Disadvantages: Now come on! I'm not letting the home-side down!
...With the recent Radio One "One Big Weekend" I'm sure you've all heard of Derry so I think it would be rude of me not to tell everyone of the city i?m so fond of! I don?t live in Derry (although i live quite close) but i went to magee college there, and still visit my ?fella? there at least once a week, so i shall tell you all of this beautiful place.
??In my memory, I will always see,
the town that I, have loved so well??
© Phil Coulter
Derry/ Doire/ Londonderry- the city so good they named it thrice! Delete name as appropriate depending on which political belief you hold is northern ireland?s second city. (I assume they must have made a mistake with the first one: belfast.) it goes by several nicknames- ?the Maiden City? or even ?Stroke city? (stroke city is due to politicians calling it Derry-stroke-Londonderry? and not any...

Derry from my eyes
Advantages: How to get around derry
Disadvantages: theres loads
...If you have never been to Derry before, then you may require some handy tips on where to get help.
I have lived in derry all my life and know where 99% of places are in the city.
Derry is a very historical place which attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world every year.
CITY SIDE INFORMATION
We have the famous derry walls which are situated in the centre of the city, here you will find the Guildhall, with the tower clock. You will find the tower museum, the famous craft village.
Throughout the city you will find streetmaps, and street signs showing you where everywhere is.
We also have the central library and the bus station on Foyle Street.
At the bus station you can recieve street maps and bus times, and friendly people who are willing to help you.
The library holds alot of historical information...

An Insider's Guide
Advantages: History and beauty
Disadvantages: Still undergoing regeneration after years of government neglect.
...Derry City (or Londonderry if you please) is known as N. Ireland's second City. Stuck out in the Western tip of NI, it was deliberately ignored by the Stormont Government for years. But recently this city of 70,000 inhabitants has been a getting large cash injection and this has gradually filtered through to make Derry a great place for the tourist to visit. In fact, it's superior to Belfast in almost every way.
Having been born in Altnegalvin Hospital that dominates the Waterside area, I may be a little biased in my appraisal of this city. I never actually lived in the city as such, only across the border in Donegal and more recently in the South of the county. Anyway, the Waterside can be largely ignored for tourism, unless you stay at the Waterfoot Hotel overlooking Lough Foyle and beside the new bridge. The City side is where...

Fantastic University
Advantages: Excellent facilities
Disadvantages: Could be far away if you live abroad
...University of Ulster - Magee Campus - Londonderry
I am going to write a review on the University Of Ulster - I don't know why it's under United Kingdom hotels - AS ITS A UNIVERSITY but anyway here goes.
University Of Ulster, Magee Campus is situated in Derry, in Northern Ireland. It is well known for its Main Building - a history landmark which has been open since the 1800's.
At present the university has now a great mixture of old and new buildings.
The university is situated 5 minutes from the City Centre and the Famous Derry Walls.
Students from all over the world have come to study here - there is a wide range of ethnic origins.
The facilities they offer:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
A Very Large Number of Courses Under 5 Faculties

Londonderry - a revised opinion
Advantages: The city has come on, on leaps and bounds over the last few years
Disadvantages: City can still be divided on certain issues
...londonderry/Derry is probably the most historically seeped city out of the 3 to be found in Northern Ireland. Since the Good Friday agreement and subsequent cease fires, life in the Northern has never been better and Derry is certainly benefiting from it.
Redevelopment is obvious, house prices are soaring and there is building work going on every where - no green field is safe! We are now beginning to see major high street names arriving on the scene, something which would never have been considered.
Because of all this redevelopment and redeployment, the unemployment figures are falling for the first time in a long long time - at last people are getting the credit they deserve.
The people of Londonderry/Derry are a friendly bunch and will welcome strangers and tourists with open arms - always ready to tell a story or join in...
