Advantages: A totally new approach to this type of game

This game has taken a completely unoriginal war theme and turned it into something special. Conflict Desert Storm mixes fun and realism which is a refreshing change from other ‘serious’ tactical shooters. ...When Conflict Desert Storm first appeared it received some o.k. reviews. What had those first reviewers missed ? Maybe they just didn't spend enough time with the game. Because this game grows on you. The graphics are very good - not outstanding. But how many games look fantastic yet have no depth. It's a great environment to fight in - the first Gulf War setting gives us towns to explore, dangerous deserts to work through, military bases to infiltrate and attack . there are no repetitive levels which are just a slighty different version of the one you've just been through. The team of four (US or UK special forces) is a delight to use and you may find the game flows better if you forego some of the many options you have with each man ( I prefer not to send men off to a target -but take them there). ...Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa is located approximately 60 minutes drive from Dubai International Airport. Transfers can be organised with your tour operator, but will be in two stages. The first stage is a transfer from the airport down the highway and into the desert and onto the perimeter fence of the resort - this should take no more than 45-50 minutes. Once at the perimeter of the Al Maha estate, you will pass through security and await the arrival of the hotels jeeps, who will then transport you up to the main resort, which will usually take another 15 mins or so. Despite the transfer time, particualrly after a 7 1/2 hour flight from the UK, this was not uncomfortable or irritating like some transfers can be, so I hardly noticed the time. Desert Island Dreams

...To cheer myself up on a January day I thought I would try a review for this desert island category. I guess being stranded on a desert island means sun and sand, but none of the luxuries most of us like on holiday, and worst of all no companion. Well that?s how in was for Tom Hanks in Castaway, but perhaps I would find a friendly native, hopefully a fit and healthy hunk. Well I can dream, can?t I? I have thought about what I would take with me and this is what I have come up with. I have left out music as I am hoping the birds would sing to me and that I could make some musical instruments of my own from things I could find on the island.
