Advantages: It can be quite funny (without intent) in places

...This must have been filmed very quickly after the first film. Both Grace Jones and Arnold have got almost nothing to say, the lines seem to have been passed to those who could speak them more clearly. Despite being a sequal theres no real continuity with the first movie other than its still Arnold playing Conan and that clearly a little bit of time has passed since the end of the first movie. Basically the plot is this:- Conan doing a favour to try & retrieve a magical gem and get his lover brought back to life which devolves into a rescue movie as only 1 person can touch the gem and Conan has to get her back from the evil wizard who actually has the magical gem they've gone to steal which is rather handy as it kills 2 birds with 1 stone. Hopeless as Detectives, brilliant at comedy!

...I came across this movie while searching through my brother's DVD collection and was quite interested as I had watched the T.V. series ' The singing Detective ' by Dennis Potter (which I thought was brilliant ) I did'nt know it had been made into a movie and on seeing that Robert Downey Jr was playing the lead role among some other good actors I thought it was worth borrowing. Although based on the TV series of the same name and the same storyline there are a few differences.................. The TV series is set in 1940's London with a big band music theme whereas the Movie is set in 1950's America with a Rock 'n' Roll musical theme ! ...The follow up to the successful Conan the Barbarian was not quite what I thought it would be. Made in 1984 the story line revolves around another Conan adventure which the evil Queen Tamaris has sent him on to retrieve a sacred horn that will summon a god and in return the queen will resurrect Conans lost love who died in the Conan the Barbarian. Destroyer is directed by Richard Fleischer and Arnie plays the muscle-bound man with no pants again and the funny little wizard guy Akiro is also back, he is played by Mako. Advantages: Excellent Storyline, Epic Graphics, Unique Characters and Much More..

This film, coupled with "The Mask" and "Dumb & Dumber" propelled him to super-stardom.
