AMD Phenom x4 9500 reviewed

Advantages: Price, multitasking, AM2 and AM2+ compatibility, 65 nm energy save technology.

AMD Athlon XP 3000+

Advantages: Decent performance, cheap, you can tell you're mates "I got one too!"
Disadvantages: Not as fast as Pentium 4 rated at same speed, not future proof

AMD 3800+

Advantages: Fast, affordable
Disadvantages: Not Multicore.

...Now, I'm not one who knows that much about CPU's before i begin but i can say a few good points about this. The AMD 3800+ is the last of their single core cpu's that fit the 939 pin socket. In case you do not understand, when you get a computer, you have to buy a motherboard with a matching size socket for your CPU. This is 939 pin. The newer ones are AM2. This cpu only has a single core but at least it is a nice quick one clocking in at 2.4GhZ. It can be over clocked but I do not do that nor do I recommend unless you have a fair bit of experience. I can honestly say it is fast enough to run ANY current game and I have an X850XTX graphics card which is about two years old now. So clearly its not outdated and if you are budget it does fine. Advantages: Relatively Cheap and PowerFUL! FOR applications and Games.

AMD Black Edition AMD Athlon X2 7850

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Lack of overclocking headroom

...This is the first Black Edition processor from AMD that I own. This processor has 2.8 GHz of stock speed and 3MB total cache divided in 2x512KB L2 cache and 2 MB L3 cache. This Athlon series built on 65nm process so it has rather high TDP, which is 95 watt. I think this is the fastest dual core processor on 65nm process. The Athlon X2 7850 also has HyperTransport 3.0, for up to 28.5 GB/s total processor to system bandwidth, and it supports DDR2 memory with a maximum speed of 1066MHz. In term of overclocking, this processor has the same character with all Phenom I processor. It was a hard work to overclock this processor. AMD turion tl-58:- a great prcessor all round

Advantages: speed, perormance, no dodgy intel media graphics
