...When it comes to booking a flight I tend to be one of those people who'll hunt for days or even weeks till I finally prove to myself I'm not going to get it any cheaper. I'll go throw site after site inputting all the boring information, changing the days if I can be flexible and then finally booking a ticket. Last October on a whim I decided to make a certain person aged then eight dreams come true and take her to Florida. A shoe string budget was set, after searching sites like Expedia, Opodo, Lastminute.com, Ebookers and probably a hundred or so more I stumbled across Dial A Flight. Dial A Flights web site is basic to say the least, but then again if it comes up with the goods does it matter?   Dial - A - Flight? More like Dial - Are - Shite.

...to fly to Singapore to see my dad for a few weeks. It was the first time I was flying their alone, and so I didn't want any mistakes to happen. And so I avoided Dial - A - Flight completely. Unfortunately for me, I'd left booking rather too late and couldn't find a competitive price anywhere, and so I gave them another chance. Sure enough when I phoned up they found me the best price for a ticket. At least £150 better than I'd tried to find anywhere else and I'd tried everywhere!! One thing I liked in particular, was that they put me through to the same operator as I'd had before, so I didn't have to go through the whole who I am etc. He knew what I liked and was quick to meet my needs. And so armed again with the confirmation, I was ready to go. This time however when I received the confirmation fax, I noticed a slight error...

Dial a Flight

Advantages: heklpful polite and friendly service
Disadvantages: the flight prices advertised are not always available upon phoning

...I have used dial a flight on a number of occasions now, and have always been impressed with their service. I found them on a web site, but as the title suggests you cannot book the flights over the internet. The web site gives you a quote for your flight and the telephone number. Quite often though when you get through to them and quote the price there is a drawback to the price. When I was generally looking around for a flight to Alicante for my son about 6 weeks ago, I found this what seemed a really good deal, £49 return!!! I rang Dial a flight and found that he would have had to travel first to Barcelona and then onto Alicante. A bit of a marathon for a short flight really, even though the price was brilliant. It does not mention these things on the web site. However I am actually writing an op on the telephone service so...

...Mail and there will be no cost what so ever. Basically the bottom line of what I was hearing was that there was nothing to lose and everything to gain! I was then asked if Friday would be suitable for my phone to be delivered to me, if it was to be delivered between 9am and 5pm, it was, so all we do is wait. Delivery day --------------- Friday comes, along with a letter in the post from Dial-a-phone, saying that the delivery will be here on today?s date between 9am and 5:30pm (different to what I was told on the phone by 30 mins) and if the date and time was unsuitable then to arrange another, hahahaha, what a joke how are you supposed to rearrange when the letter comes on the same day as your parcel is due, 10/10 for stupidity. I wait in all day and just when I am about to give up and go to the shop and feed my starving...

Dial a Bargain more like.

Advantages: 5 star service, efficient in the delivery of tickets, Some really good deals (cheap flight, and holiday deals- hence their name), Website is fast, clear, and precise with a huge array of different travel ideas (with a very useful search facility)
Disadvantages: Cannot book online, and therefore have to call their "local rate" telephone number (their staff however are very helpful anyway, so not really a big problem), Can become a lengthy phone call if no availablity (however staff will usually do their best)

Again a very good ticket price to other comparisons (such as a private travel agent we had used in newton Aycliffe whos service were almost definately inferior to dial-a flight, and Thomas Cook- although they do have a good service, are not very good in offering you really cheap flights) The reason that Dial a flight can offer its customers such cheap deals is for the following reasons: 1. It has lower overheads than that of a travel agency (although has to pay its employees, it doesnt have to pay retail rates for an optimum travel agent location) 2. They buy in huge quantities, which mean that they recieve hefty discounts. This therefore transfers to the customer - cheers dial a flight. - So, what was it like for me...

...A great trip - thanks to Dial-A-Flight and Korean Air (and a few tips) We just returned from visiting friends and family in New-Zealand. We had a great time travelling around and catching up with everyone but what topped the holiday off was the fact that our travelling to Auckland and back was so hassle-free! This is all thanks to Oscar - our booking agent at Dial-A-Flight. We booked 7 months ahead and as I am sure everybody does, searched the internet in depth to find the best available price for our selected dates. It appeared that Dial-A-Flight advertised the best prices and although hesitant about using agents we thought to give them a call. Oscar was very personal, helpful and put up with all my questions. Up Up and Away!

Advantages: Amazing characters, fabulous storyline, hillarious & Emotional at the same time!
Disadvantages: It's not out on DVD yet so I have to wait a few months before I can watch it again!
