Crash My Model Car Ghosts and heights

Advantages: Clever, catchy pop
Disadvantages: None really

...I got this at the same time as the new Orson album (reviewed on Ciao as well) which was quite nice but got a panning from UK music paper NME and with albums like this around it's easy to see why. Crash My Model Car play pop as it should be: melodic, catchy and with good lyrics while sounding fresh and original. Somewhere between formulaic stadium pop rock and quirky indie pop, CMMC must be heading to be one of the big bands of 2008. The singer has a great semi gravelly voice (pea gravel?); first track "In dreams" opens with haunting acoustic guitar, vocals and violin. It sounds a bit like Snow Patrol but SP if they were a cool indie band and not a stadium filling commercial machine. The song swells to a lovely harmony laden chorus. And that's how it continues. Track two "Sirens" is equally good and a has a slight feel...

A Model Book

Advantages: Good story, good twists, entertaining
Disadvantages: Poppy did whinge a LOT

...I'm forever browsing Amazon for the latest book releases to try to find something new that catches my eye, and I've been lucky lately because there has been quite an influx on new books on to the market this summer! As usual, I've been keeping my local library in business lol, and the latest one I've taken out is "The Model Wife" by an author I've not read before, Julia Llewellyn. It sounded good, and I looked forward to reading it, so here's the review. Poppy Norton is a bit of a cliché, even she admits it. She was unlucky in love until she met News Presenter, father of 3 Luke Norton. The two begin a relationship on the sly, and accidentally Poppy falls pregnant. Luke decides to leave his wife Hannah to set up home with Poppy but soon finds out life with a young model and their newborn daughter doesn't quite match up to his twenty...

New model Passat (2007) no longer a grandad car!

Advantages: Great fuel economy, great looking, reliable
Disadvantages: Less power than the 2 litre

...I got this as my company car in July 2007, the 1.9 Passat TDI 2007 model. In my opinion this car is absolutely fantastic and has it all. Fuel efficient, great looking, good handling and available with tons of extra features. Inside the car is extremely spacious, the drivers area is adjustable to suit any driver. The boot is huge so extremely useful for travelling, or storing tools and materials for those diy projects! The 1.9 model has a surprisingly less amount of power than its 2 litre counterpart but it makes up for that fact in fuel economy. I frequently drive long trips and can do over 700 miles on a full tank, gaining 50+ mpg on long journeys and 40-50 in urban driving. ...When sorting out my dads possessions we discovered a couple of corgi model cars one was a model of a ford model T van with Lyons tea advertising on its side. Corgi is a Northampton firm that started making colorful pressed metal toys in 1930. In 1956 the first corgi model cars appeared. These cars are now collector's pieces. The corgi Lyons tea van that I found was made around 1985. It was made as a collector's model. These cars are not really made for young children but for those aged over 14. This model van measures 9cm long by 4cm wide it is 5 cm tall. This van is I believe a true copy of a Ford model T van. The Lyons tea van is made of a blue dye cast metal. On the side of the van are the Lyons name in gold and the company address in black. The roof of the van is white the radiator trim gold the wheels gold with black...

Advantages: Kind of interesting, some parts entertaining.
Disadvantages: Not up to MTVs usual quality of programmes, already know the winner.

MTV is no longer 'music television' as the name of the channel suggests and if you do not have Sky you will probably not be as familiar with this finding. MTV are now concentrating on developing different kinds of reality programmes and 'America's most smartest model' is a television programme that was heavily advertised before it's premiere and is now on weekly. The basic idea of this television programme is that some American lovely looking model people are required to perform tests which test their intelligence. Advantages: Good Concept, Fun To Watch, Entertaining.
Disadvantages: A Bit Slow Sometimes

Basically the show is about finding five girls to move into an apartment in London. Thousands turn up for the auditions and it?s the judge?s decision to choose four girls from each city they visit. The auditions were held in Birmingham, Manchester, London and Bristol. The judges are Angus and the editor of Cosmopolitan magazine Lorraine Candy. The five girls will move into the model apartment and go out to castings.
