...I was looking for a simple, cheap digital camera for both home and business use. I'm self employed and on occasion I need to take a client's photograph to insert in a document. After much deliberating, enter the Polaroid PDC 3030 digital camera. How Much And From Where? ++++++++++++++++++++++ I bought the camera, 64 MB smart card and a leather carrying case for £99.97 from Argos where the camera alone is £79.99. A Digi-Cam That Breaks The Capacity Barrier

Advantages: Small, huge picture taking capacity, even at top quality setting.
Disadvantages: No "real" zoom. Shortish battery life. Delay after pressing shutter release and actual recording.

So glad to be back to a Canon!

Advantages: Small, tough, simple and fast to use
Disadvantages: A little expensive

...and I am still pleased with my purchase. Summary I'm realling enjoying using the Canon and it lives in my pocket most of the time now, before my camera would always be in a jacket pocket or a bag somewhere. It's not the cheapest of compact digital cameras and I have no idea if it is significantly better than others, but it's a real improvement over previous cameras for me and it seems to suit my needs. Of course if you are going to do some serious photography then please read some information from somebody that knows about these things :-) (also posted on dooyoo)...

And so it should be. The box claims a picture quality of 640 x 480. Beware; they lie like rugs. The quality on 'high' mode is roughly a third of this pixel size at 352 x 288 and the quality is comparable to a webcam (the camera can also be used as a webcam). It takes 20 'high quality' pictures on fixed RAM. The sensor is CMOS rather than CCD, as is common for cheap digital cameras, and the picture is very grainy. On a personal level, it is a very user-friendly digicam that has some great features. The ones I like most are the 120 shots it can hold on low resolution, or 60 at high resolution. Also with the Macro function you can get some really close photos with great visual quality. The LCD display on the back of the camera gives it another great appeal. You can view your pictures instantly and if you don’t like them, you can delete them there and then. If you have important pictures, you can put a security lock on them so you cannot delete them by accident.
