...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall...

...Before I got my iPod and sounddock, I was one of those who refuses to subscribe to the technological revolution. Prefering hi-fi and compact disc to the digital music phenomenon. However, within a week (once I'd worked out how to use it), I was hooked on my iPod and once I got the sound-dock, there was no turning back. I think it's fairly safe to say that the era of compact disc players and tape decks is over... The only reason I still have a normal cd player in my house is to listen to the radio, and those few albums that I just haven't got around to putting on my iPod yet. A must have for all serious IPOD owners.

Advantages: Superior sound quality. Credit card remote
Disadvantages: Expensive, Mains only, Some design flaws.

...music and at no point was there any distortion....the down side was i got a fuzzy ringing for an hour after in my ears - but what a pleasurable way to go deaf! Now it is not all good news, for those who love plenty of BASS there is no output connection for auxillary speakers, but that is minor. If you take music that seriously then you would already have several head thumping, heart attack inducing, ear entertainers. Design Falls down a touch here compared to rivals, the dock itself it not too well designed and the IPOD does tend to wobble about, especially annoying if you are trying to select the next song.... (has led to many an angry moment at parties when selecting the next song and you interupt the current song just because the connection in the dock was loose!) The remote is however a masterpiece, those with an affliction...

Bose rocks

...Before i start this reveiw i want to state that the Bose soundock is an exceptional piece of kit. Before i bought mine i toyed with the idea of a lesser quality and obviously less expensive option but was lucky to hear a freinds unit before i spent any money,needless to say the difference in sound quality is like compareing a honda to a porshe. Personally i'm a convert but i will try to be unbiased. SIZE 6.65" H x 11.91" W x 6.48" D . 16.89 x 30.26 x 16.47 cm . (Basically the speaker face is slighty smaller than an A4 sheet of paper and although it is just over 6" deep, 1.5-2" is taken up by the ipod dock which makes the speaker quite slim) 4.56 lb (2.1 kg) . Good things come in small packages

Advantages: Excellent Sound Quality, Loud, Alarm Clock, Charges i-pod
Disadvantages: Lack of ipod control, No PC connection

...Well i got this for my birthday yesterday from my girlfriend and can't stop listening to music since... I saw one of these a few years ago in a Bose store and was blown away by the quality of the sound it produced. Since then, Bose have made it smaller again but there seems to be no loss in sound quality. There are no stickers stuck to it saying "Accentuated Bass" or "3D Sound" or any of that rubbish - this is because it doesn't need any of it. The sound is rich and provides a great output across all frequencies giving a clear and accurate reproduction of the audio you are listening to. The model i have supports all models of i-pod up to the 20/60GB Video models, Not sure about the newer 30/80GB video models although it's only a case of having the correct dock adapter, which i have a feeling is provided anyway with this system...
